Several commuters faced difficulty getting a ride amid the heavy rains in Metro Manila on Thursday morning. Kaninang 5:00 a.m., itinaas ng @dost_pagasa ang Yellow Rainfall Warning sa Metro Manila at ilang mga karatig lalawigan. | via @allangatus — DZBB Super Radyo (@dzbb) July 2, 2025 As of 6:46 a.m., a gutter-deep flood was reported in the westbound lane of Quirino Avenue (Guazon) and above-gutter-deep flood in the eastbound lane of Andrew Avenue corner Tramo Street, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said. The affected roads were still passable to all types of vehicles despite the floods. Several areas were experiencing heavy rains due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said. Rainfall from 50 to 100 mm may be felt in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro between Wednesday and Thursday evening. Also, the same rainfall condition is expected in Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, and Ilocos Norte. 20 unwed mothers kasama ang kanilang mga anak, at 10 OFWs galing Dubai, nakauwi na ng Pilipinas. | via @bernadettereyes — DZBB Super Radyo (@dzbb) June 17, 2025 Twenty unwed Filipino mothers and their 23 children arrived Tuesday in the Philippines from Dubai amid escalating tensions in the Middle East, according to Bernadette Reyes' report on Super Radyo dzBB. Also with them were 10 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who were supposed to go to Jordan to work as domestic workers. They will reportedly be given financial assistance amounting to P50,000 each as well as reintegration and livelihood assistance. Meanwhile, around 150 OFWs must be repatriated from Israel. The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration are now Coordinating with the Department of Foreign Affairs to secure their safe repatriation.
