Commuters stranded amid heavy rains in Metro Manila
Passengers with umbrellas were seen waiting for public transportation on Ortigas Avenue and Ortigas Avenue Extension in Pasig City, according to Super Radyo dzBB's Mark Makalalad.

Many passengers were also stranded on Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City, according to Super Radyo dzBB's Allan Gatus.

As of 6:46 a.m., a gutter-deep flood was reported in the westbound lane of Quirino Avenue (Guazon) and above-gutter-deep flood in the eastbound lane of Andrew Avenue corner Tramo Street, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said.
The affected roads were still passable to all types of vehicles despite the floods.
Several areas were experiencing heavy rains due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the Southwest Monsoon, state weather bureau PAGASA said.
Rainfall from 50 to 100 mm may be felt in Metro Manila, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, and Occidental Mindoro between Wednesday and Thursday evening.
Also, the same rainfall condition is expected in Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Apayao, Kalinga, Abra, and Ilocos Norte.
Some classes on Wednesday have been suspended due to the threat of the heavy rainfall. —VAL, GMA Integrated News

4 Luzon dams release water —PAGASA
Four dams in Luzon had some of their gates open on Sunday to release water, data from PAGASA showed. Ipo Dam in Norzagaray, Bulacan had one gate open at 0.15 meters, discharging water at 33 cubic meter per second (cms). At 8 a.m., Ipo Dam's reservoir water level (RWL) was at 100.41 meters, near the 101.10-meter spilling level. Two gates were open meanwhile at Ambuklao Dam in Benguet on Sunday, at 1.0 meters. These were discharging water at 191.20 cms. Ambuklao Dam's RWL was at 751.24 on Sunday morning, which is near the 752-meter normal high water level (NHWL). Binga Dam also in Benguet had two gates open on Sunday at 1.0 meters, discharging water at 211.51 cms. Its RWL was at 574.10 meters, near the 575-meter NWHL. Magat Dam, which straddles the provinces of Isabela and Ifugao, had two gates open at 3.0 meters. Water discharge is at 656.39 cms. The dam's RWL was at 185.84 meters, a few meters away from the NHWL of 190 meters. PAGASA said the Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring rains over parts of the country on Sunday. Southwest Monsoon to continue bringing rains over parts of PH
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) will continue to bring rains over parts of the country on Sunday, state weather bureau PAGASA said. Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro may have occasional rains due to the monsoon. Moderate to at times heavy rains may possibly result in floods or landslides. Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, the rest of Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of MIMAROPA may expect cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms also due to the Southwest Monsoon. Flash floods or landslides may possibly occur due to moderate to at times heavy rains. The rest of the country will experience generally fair weather, with partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms. During severe thunderstorms, flash floods or landslides may result. Coastal waters will be rough in Extreme Northern Luzon, and moderate to rough in the western section of Luzon. As for the rest of the country, these will have slight to moderate coastal waters. Sunrise was at 5:38 a.m. while sunset will be at 6:27 p.m. Weather disturbances outside PAR Meanwhile, PAGASA is monitoring three weather disturbances outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). A low pressure area, formerly known as Dante when it was inside PAR, was estimated to be located at 2 a.m. at 690 km north northwest of Itbayat, Batanes. "Maliit ang tsansa nito na lumakas at inaasahang malulusaw na ito sa mga susunod na oras," DOST-PAGASA weather specialist Obet Badrina said in the bureau's 5 a.m. public weather forecast. (It has a small chance of intensifying and is expected to dissipate in the next few hours.) Tropical Depression Co-May, formerly known as Emong when it was inside PAR, was located at 3 a.m. at 875 km northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon. It was packing maximum sustained winds of 45 km/h near the center and with gustiness of up to 55 km/h. Co-May is almost stationary. "Inaasahang malulusaw na ito sa mga susunod na araw (This is expected to dissipate in the next few days)," Badrina said. Typhoon Krosa, meanwhile, is also being monitored by PAGASA even if it is outside PAR. At 3 a.m., Krosa was estimated to be located at 2,480 km east of Extreme Northern Luzon, having maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center, with gustiness of up to 150 km/h. Krosa was moving north northeastward at 20 km/h. "Hindi natin inaasahang papasok ito ng PAR. Tuluyan itong lalayo sa ating bansa," Badrina said. (We are not expecting Krosa to enter PAR. It will continue to move farther away from our country.) Badrina said no LPA is inside PAR today. "Medyo maliit ang tsansa na magkaroon tayo ng bagyo sa mga susunod na araw," he added. Habagat rains expected across PH
The Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) continues to affect the country. According to PAGASA's daily weather forecast at 4 p.m. Saturday, the Southwest Monsoon will cause occasional rains over Ilocos Sur, La Union, Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro, and cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, the Cordillera Administrative Region, Cagayan Valley, CALABARZON, the rest of the Ilocos Region, the rest of Central Luzon, and the rest of MIMAROPA. It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rains or thunderstorms over the rest of the country. Flash floods or landslides may occur in some areas as a result of these weather conditions. Meanwhile, strong winds with rough waters may be expected over Extreme Northern Luzon. The rest of Luzon will expect moderate to strong winds with moderate to rough seas, while the rest of the country will experience light to moderate winds with slight to moderate coastal waters.
