‘Jurassic World Rebirth' Fan Premiere Screening Roars To Life With 200-Strong Crowd
Life finds a way, and so too did the Jurassic World franchise, which has grown since its 1993 beginnings to become a household name and icon of the silver screen. After three years in hibernation, the franchise roars to life once more with Jurassic World Rebirth , and Singapore fans were treated to an early encounter with the magnificent prehistoric beasts once more during an early Geek Culture fan premiere on 1 July 2025. Hosted in partnership with UIP Singapore, the screening was met with a full-house attendance of dino-heads and Jurassic franchise fans alike, all buzzing with excitement on the next nasty monstrosity the film is bound to unleash. Even before the cinema doors opened, anticipation was at an all-time high, with ample opportunities for fans to snag a quick photo op with the venue filled to the brim with movie posters and screens. Once seated in the hall, cheers of excitement and laughter erupted upon the sight of our host Debbi, who was all decked out in her T. rex onesie, as she took them through the pre-show activities, with a lucky few even walking away with exclusive merchandise, including five sets of Jurassic World Rebirth premiums consisting of a dyed T-shirt, beach towel, ice mold, alongside other goodies like themed tees from and 12-inch dinosaur figures from Mattel. Picking up five years after 2022's Jurassic World Dominion , this latest chapter follows new series protagonists Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson, Black Widow ), who teams up with Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey, Wicked ) and ex-military leader Duncan Kincaid (Mahershala Ali, Moonlight ) on a mission to a prohibited island in the Atlantic, the site of its original Jurassic Park , to retrieve DNA samples while stalked by all manner of prehistoric nightmares such as the Distortus rex (nicknamed the D. rex), a six-limbed mutation of the original T. rex. In series tradition, the film had no shortage of heart-pounding moments, as our heroes are left powerless against the various towering beasts, now mutated in never-before-seen ways (as though coming face to face with a regular dinosaur wasn't already intimidating enough). Its lengthy two-hour and 14-minute runtime gave further opportunities to raise the stakes, allowing for more varied and thrilling encounters no longer confined to a mere park, but an entire island this time around. It's these new additions that further enhance this latest outing's appeal, as the film packs enough surprising new prehistoric faces to keep even the most die-hard Jurassic fan on their toes, a testament to how far the franchise has come, and the ever-lasting wonder of witnessing dinosaurs coming to life once again. Like its namesake, Jurassic World Rebirth isn't just a revival of the long-running franchise, it's a rekindling of mankind's fascination with what has long been extinct, and as the films have so aptly described in the past, we didn't ask for reality, we asked for more teeth. He has made it his life-long mission to play every single major game release – lest his wallet dies trying. GC Event Jurassic world Jurassic World Rebirth Singapore

Allison Williams is joined on rare red carpet with disgraced anchor father Brian
was joined by her former NBC anchor father Brian Williams on a rare red carpet a decade after his suspension for lying about surviving an RPG attack in the Iraq war. The 37-year-old actress made it a family affair at the premiere of her new film M3gan 2.0 as she reprises her role as Gemma from the 2022 hit thriller M3gan, and she produced both films as well. She was spotted on the red carpet at Bad Roman in New York City on Tuesday, posing with her 66-year-old father before the screening. Williams was spotted in a hot pink flowing dress that flowed to the red carpet and obscured her footwear for the evening. Her wavy auburn locks fell to past her shoulders as she accessorized with gold bracelets for the premiere. Her famous father Brian Williams stepped out with a light blue dress shirt under a black suit coat. He completed his look with black pants and black dress shoes as he joined his daughter and wife Jane Stoddard Williams. Brian famously replaced legendary NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw in 2004 and held the coveted position until 2015 - when he was suspended for falsely claiming that he had been in a helicopter hit by enemy fire during the Iraq War. A subsequent investigation found that he had made other inaccurate statements about his experiences covering events, and he lost the job. He eventually left NBC in November 2021 after 28 years. Meanwhile, the first M3gan film followed Gemma (Williams), a roboticist whose young niece Cady (Violet McGraw) is sent to live with her after her parents die in a car accident. Gemma had been secretly developing the child-sized android dubbed M3gan (Model 3 Generative Android) away from her work, with the android successfully bonding with young Cady. While the prototype is initially deemed a success, the M3gan doll develops a violent parental attachment to Cady. The Blumhouse thriller was released in early January 2023, a time of year often considered a box office graveyard for unwanted films, but M3gan proved to be a surprise box office hit. The film took in $95.1 million at the domestic box office and $180 million worldwide, from just a $12 million production budget. A sequel was given the green light, following a defense contractor stealing M3gan's programming to create a military robot dubbed Amelia. Williams returns as Gemma, who, since the first film, has become an author and advocate against artificial intelligence. Williams returns to the cast alongside Violet McGraw, Brian Jordan Alvarez as Cole and Jen Van Epps as Tess. The sequel is directed by original M3gan director Gerald Johnstone from his own script, based on a story he created with original M3gan screenwriter Akela Cooper. The film is scheduled for release on June 27, going up against Brad Pitt's new racing film F1. Both films are expected to debut in the $30 million range at the box office this weekend, though some give F1 the edge with anywhere between $35 million and $40 million.

World premiere of comedy film set in The Fens
A film set in the "badlands of East Anglia" will have its world premiere in Norwich tonight. Chicken Town was written and directed by Richard Bracewell, a lecturer at Norwich University of the Arts (NUA), and filmed in several locations across Norfolk. Cinema City is hosting the event, which will include the film's first public screening followed by a question and answer session with its stars and writers. It tells the story of two school friends who join forces with a grandad, played by comedy actor Graham Fellows, who has unwittingly grown cannabis on his allotment. Richard Bracewell, whose previous credits include the 2015 Horrible Histories film Bill, employed ten of his graduates from NUA to work on Chicken Town as assistants and trainees in the production and makeup departments. Mr Bracewell said he teamed youth with experience on the project, and Graham Fellows, an established name on the comedy circuit known for his character John Shuttleworth and novelty record Jilted John, was part of the cast. Comedians Laurence Rickard (Horrible Histories, Ghosts) and Alistair Green also star. The young characters in the film were cast from The Television Workshop charity in Nottingham, which is a BAFTA award-winning drama group whose alumni include actors Bella Ramsey (Game of Thrones, The Last of Us) and Vicky McClure (This is England, Line of Duty). Mr Bracewell described his latest film as "a story about the contradictions of modern family life; a film with both a heart and a conscience". "If Greta Gerwig and Shane Meadows had a love child, we hope it might resemble Chicken Town," he added. It will be released in UK cinemas on 27 June.
