Carrie Bickmore cuts a casual figure in a cosy fleece coat as she jets off from Perth Airport on girls' trip with her two young daughters

Carrie Bickmore has headed off for a getaway with her two daughters. The former star of The Project jetted out of Perth Airport with her girls, Evie, eight, and Adelaide, six, who she shares with ex-partner Chris Walker. The 44-year-old was dressed in a warm and casual outfit for her flight, staying cosy in a white fleece jacket with black accents. She added a cap over her blonde hair, which was worn in a ponytail, as well as a pair of black bike shorts. Carrie appeared to have on minimal makeup and towed along a pile of luggage including a carry-on case, a tote and a handbag. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Her daughters, who sported pink ensembles, also had their own carry-on suitcases with them, which they wheeled through the terminal. Carrie and her former partner of 11 years, Chris Walker, split in 2023. They are co-parenting their children, including Carrie's son Ollie, 17, who the television personality shares with her late husband Greg Lange. It comes after Carrie shocked fans by sharing a very unconventional time-saving food hack. The radio star posted a clip to social media which captured her preparing spaghetti bolognese in an unusual manner. She was seen pouring the boiled pasta directly onto a dinner table, with no plate underneath it, and then added the meat sauce on top. She finished it off by sprinkling powdered parmesan cheese over the dish. Carrie then casually grabbed a fork to dig in, revealing her simple and speedy way of preparing dinner for her and her kids. 'A new way to do dinner. I was inspired by a random post on Instagram and thought I'd be a fun mum too and let the kids just eat in a more relaxed manner,' she wrote in the caption. 'They thought it was so weird but loved it. And given I put baking paper underneath, the cleanup was easier than washing plates!' Many of Carrie's followers slammed her 'offensive' food presentation. 'As an Italian, I find this highly offensive and wrong on so many levels!' one wrote. 'No. Just no,' another simply said. Others thought it was unhygienic. 'Fun concept but I don't want to share someone else's spit,' wrote one follower, while another added: 'Nope, don't want everyone else's dirty fork in my bolognese.' One person was highly offended by her supermarket-bought parmesan cheese, writing: 'That powdered Parma smells like vom. Can't do it.' 'I love this,' wrote Jacqui Felgate, while Australian clothing label Auguste said: 'So fun.' 'Good on you Carrie for having some fun with your kids,' another fan added. Carrie was recently welcomed back to The Project in a downpour of confetti as the show recorded one of its final episodes. The television and radio star, who quit the Channel Ten show back in 2022, returned to her old stomping ground as a guest, promoting a good cause. She was there to celebrate the ten year anniversary of her charity foundation, Carrie's Beanies 4 Brain Cancer, which has raised $24 million for cancer research. Carrie announced her departure from The Project after 12 years on air in October 2022. The Adelaide- born star is now the host of the Carrie & Tommy show on the Hit Network alongside Tommy Little.

Aussie woman shares her 'sneaky' hack for saving money on a popular McDonald's staple

An Aussie woman has revealed her 'sneakiest' McDonald's hack for snapping up a cheeseburger at a discounted price. Queensland podcast host Dani Said, 36, has shared a series of hacks for scoring cheaper deals at the popular fast food restaurant to TikTok. In her latest trick, Ms Said filmed herself in a McDonald's drive-thru asking the price of a cheeseburger which was $4.80. 'And, how much is a hamburger on its own?' the podcaster asked. '$2,' the cashier responded. Ms Said then ordered a hamburger and added a slice of cheese, which is what a cheeseburger is. Her total ended up being $3.15 - $2 for the hamburger and $1.15 for the cheese. Her video was flooded with comments from Aussies impressed with her 'hustle'. But many said the fast food chain was still too pricey. '$4.80 for a burger the size of a baby's fist?' one wrote. '$4.80 for 1 cheeseburger is wild! I remember when a small Big Mac meal was $4.95!' another said. '$1.15 for a slice of cheese? Tell 'em they're dreaming,' a third added. Others said they had tried the hack but to no avail. 'I've tried to do this and they told me they have to put a cheeseburger through, so stopped trying this hack,' one wrote. 'Sneaky, because you can't add cheese onto a hamburger on the MyMaccas app,' another advised. Current and former McDonald's staff said they had been warned about savvy Aussies trying to use the trick in the past. 'We were told we weren't allowed to do this, and we'd tell customers we would give them a slice of cheese separate from the burger, usually ended up being melted into the box,' one said. 'I would actually get in trouble from my manager for doing this for customers,' another said. But one worker said the hack would only work for a limited time. 'Hi, so I work at Maccas and the reason it's way cheaper is because the hamburger is on a temporary deal,' she wrote. 'So it seems weird but it won't be like this forever. 'The hamburger will go up soon.' The video received more than 680,000 views after Ms Said posted other 'Maccas hacks' to her TikTok account. In another video she clarified with a cashier that a small cheeseburger meal and a Happy Meal at the franchise were more or less 'exactly the same thing' plus a toy. She wrote the prices were $3 apart from $8.95 for a small cheeseburger meal to $5.95 for a Happy Meal. 'Do you get people asking that all the time?' she asked the cashier in the clip.

Macca's fans stunned to discover insane cheeseburger price hack

A woman has discovered a simple way to score a Happy Meal at McDonald's for nearly $3 cheaper than the original price. A Macca's customer named Dani took to social media to ask if someone could explain why a $5.95 Cheeseburger Happy Meal from the fast food giant was cheaper than buying a small Cheeseburger meal for $8.85. 'It's exactly the same thing but you get a toy with the Happy Meal,' she says in a TikTok video. 'The math ain't mathing,' the 36-year-old, who posts on TikTok under the name @danisaidyes, says. At the drive-through at her local McDonald's, the podcaster asks the employee how much a Cheeseburger Happy Meal would set her back. The worker confirms it is $5.95. Dani then asks how much a small Cheeseburger meal costs, and the employee replies that it is $3 more expensive. 'But they're like exactly the same thing but the Happy Meal comes with a toy,' she questions from her car. 'Yeah, pretty much,' the worker replies, adding she 'dies inside' every time someone orders the more expensive option without realising the hack. 'I feel bad for them,' the employee tells Dani during the friendly interaction. Some social media users have since shared their own Macca's hacks to outsmarting the system when it comes to paying for food, while others called Dani out for not 'gatekeeping' the Happy Meal trick. 'A McSmart meal is 7.95 and you get an extra side,' one person said. Another added: 'I been on the McSmart meal for six months easy and now I'm seeing influencers talk about it. Watch them change it!?' 'Mate! Should have gate kept this. Watch the price of a Happy Meal go up,' another said. One person commented: 'It jumps from $5.95 to $11.95 if I order a six nugget Happy Meal instead of three, so works out the same if you order two three nugget Happy Meals then you get another drink and fries for the same price!!! That's my little hack.' 'If you get a McSmart meal you get cheeseburger, small drink, small chips and either another cheeseburger, three nugs or McFlurry for $6.95,' one shared. An employee wrote: 'I work at Maccas and whenever someone asks for a small cheeseburger meal I always put though a cheeseburger Happy Meal.' 'Hack? I've been doing this for years,' another said. Someone else offered up: 'They also sell 20 nuggets for $12.95 but 10 nuggets cost $10.95.' One said: 'I thought everyone knew this? I always order Happy Meals.' A McDonald's spokesperson told the brand was all about affordability. 'Macca's has always been the home of value and affordability, and we know that promise is more important to our customers than ever. It's why our menu features a range of great value offerings and choices for everyone, from individuals to the whole family,' the spokesperson said. 'We love that some adults are choosing the great savings and fun of a Happy Meal! Even more are enjoying the unbeatable value of the McSmart Meal. For just $6.95, you can enjoy a Cheeseburger, Small Fries and a Small Soft Drink AND your choice of a second Cheeseburger, a Chicken n Cheese, Sundae or 3pc McNuggets. 'And don't forget our Loose Change Menu, offering 8 Macca's favourites for $4 and under, including the iconic Hamburger for just $2 or our famous 50c Soft Serve.'

Internet loses it over man's avocado hack

A man has stunned the internet after sharing his simple yet brilliant method of slicing up the humble avocado in order to keep it from browning. Mikey, from Cape Town, took to TikTok to share the way he has been cutting avocados for 'as long as he can remember,' he told While most people cut an avocado down the middle and pull it apart so that both sides expose the flesh and the pit, that is not how Mikey does it. Instead, he cuts off the top to reduce the amount of flesh exposed and keep it from browning. He then dips his knife into the avo to take what he needs. 'And you just drop it right on a little plate [after you're done],' he said. The clip has been viewed more than 4.7 million times and has garnered more than 5000 comments. Social media users were in a frenzy over the clip. 'As someone who doesn't want the whole avocado on my toast, this is amazing,' one person commented. Another added: 'No one has EVER opened an avocado like that.' One simply wrote: 'That's actually really smart.' 'This guy is using avocados like it's truffle butter,' one added. Someone else weighed in: 'I actually think this is genius !!!! Not everyone eats avocado the same way … thanks for the tip!' Others couldn't fathom not eating an entire avocado in one go. 'Not eating a full avocado with your toast is crazy work,' one said. Another added: 'What's leftover avocado?' '1. We don't have leftover avocado in my house. 2. WHY HAS NO ONE THOUGHT OF THIS?? 3. RIGHT. Because no one else has leftover avocado either,' one social media user summarised. Mikey told that he was currently on holiday in New York while his wife is working in the city, with the pair staying with a friend. 'And, I was cutting some avo to put on some sourdough bread and her friend said, 'oh my goodness, I've never seen someone cut an avo like that',' he said. 'I explained to her [it was to stop it browning]. She said that was amazing and told me to do a little video, post it on TikTok and see what happens. 'And the rest is history.'

Woman shares simple hack to keeping lettuce fresh for MONTHS

Have you opened a package of lettuce only to find your greens moldy and limp rather than crunchy? Lettuce help with that. A TikTok user known for her budget-saving hacks has shared her incredible trick to keeping the leafy vegetable crisp for months. In a now-viral video, the creator claimed her head of romaine lettuce was still fresh and ready to use a whole month after its recommended use-by date. The woman, who posted the video at the end of May, explained that she had purchased the lettuce at the end of March. 'To prove it to you, the best before date is April 25,' she shared. 'Here's how I've been keeping it fresh for so long,' she continued, before pulling the greens out of the plastic bag it came in to show the camera. She then showed the head of romaine lettuce to the camera, revealing that she had covered the end of it in a damp paper towel. 'I put a little napkin or paper towel, damp, just on the end,' she explained. She claimed that just under a whopping two months later, she has to peel off the outer layer of the lettuce but insisted that everything under that is perfectly fine to eat. 'This is a perfect head of lettuce after two months,' she said triumphantly, adding in a comment that she checks the paper towel and re-dampens it when she needs to. Users loved the money and food saving hack, sharing their thoughts in the comment section. 'This is so smart oh my god, I live alone and can never finish it before it goes bad. I needed this video holy cow,' one user gushed. 'I do the same thing! GAME CHANGER! It's crazy but so simple. Treat the plants in your fridge as plants, they want to be watered,' agreed someone else. Another joked: 'That same lettuce goes bad in four days in my fridge.' It's not the first time a food professional has shared their tricks to preserving food. Previously, a chef shared a series of genius food hacks which she said could save you $1,000 a year in food waste – including using cheese rinds in soup and not peeling carrots. Users loved the money and food saving trick, sharing their thoughts in the comment section Massachusetts-based Alison Mountford said food is the 'biggest expense' as restauranteur so would make sure it was all used up Alison's top tip was to meal plan and use up the food you already have in your cupboard before buying more. She encouraged people to not immediately throw away brown food as peeling back oxidized vegetables such as cabbage and brussels sprouts can reveal a perfectly usable vegetable. '[Meal plan to] reduce what goes in your house in the first place. So many people have a habit of blindly picking stuff up,' she explained. 'Even just jotting down a general idea, you'll end up purchasing less.' Alison also encouraged families to freeze food they are not going to use before it goes off – such as saving a whole banana.
