Harry Redknapp's £5million mansion 'is hit by a masked gang': Thugs raid home and flee with wife Sandra's jewellery

A masked gang raided Harry Redknapp's £5million Dorset mansion and stole his wife's jewellery, while police have launched a manhunt to find the thieves. The former Premier League manager and his wife Sandra, both 78, were out when a gang broke into their home last Friday, The Sun reports. The hammer-clad gang allegedly took jewellery belonging to Sandra, as well as other luxury items. A source told The Sun: 'It was clearly organised. The raiders must have known the house was empty.' It is feared that the thugs may have checked out the layout of the house, which is understood to be for sale, on a property website ad. The house is located near Dorset beach resort Sandbanks, where properties are among the most expensive in the world per square foot. The thieves, who were brandishing lump hammers and a sledgehammer to break the front door open, were captured on CCTV scouring through the property. 'They were caught on CCTV cameras breaking in and trying to ransack the property looking for valuables', the source added. 'It was clearly organised and they must have known the house was empty at the time.' Harry was reportedly attending a function on the night of the break-in, while Sandra was in London. Cops confirmed yesterday they were still hunting down the thieves. Daily Mail has approached Harry's representatives and Dorset Police for comment. The property is currently on sale, while the couple's new seaside villa at Sandbanks is completed. They moved into their current £7million home in 2021 after a lack of privacy. The former Tottenham and West Ham manager and his wife splashed out on their new waterside home on the exclusive peninsula and replaced the six bedroom detached house with a luxury three-storey villa built in 'a traditional Italianate architectural style'. Harry who won I'm A Celebrity in 2018, and his wife, have owned homes on spectacularly expensive Sandbanks or in Poole for over two decades. They bought one of the finest homes on Sandbanks - a mock Tudor mansion overlooking the entrance to the harbour – for £3m in 2001. Harry and Sandra are said to have sold the property for £6.9m in 2015 and moved to a brand new £4m mansion five bedroom beachside property just around the corner. They reportedly left the modern glass-fronted property on Sandbanks because they wanted more privacy after getting fed up with tourists staring at their home.

Robbers break into Mirzan Mahathir's home, flee with RM1.8m in valuables

KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 — The home of Mirzan Mahathir, the eldest son of former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, was broken into on Wednesday, with robbers escaping with jewellery and other valuables estimated to be worth RM1.8 million. According to The Vibes, the break-in reportedly occurred around 5pm and was discovered by a Filipino domestic helper, who noticed that the padlock on the back door had been cut and the bedroom of Mirzan's daughter, Khadijah, 29, had been ransacked. Khadijah later confirmed that several items were missing, including a Cartier bangle, gold rings, earrings, a pair of golden chopsticks, jade bangles, old passports and foreign currency. The two-storey bungalow, located on a 1.5-acre end-lot, is equipped with 24-hour security. However, despite having 16 closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras, the system only provides live viewing with no recording function. A forensic team from the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters, comprising five officers and personnel, was deployed to the scene. They recovered three fingerprints from the bedroom, and also seized the cut Solex padlock as evidence. The fingerprints have been sent to Bukit Aman for further analysis. A K9 unit from the Police Training Centre (Pulapol) was also brought in to assist with investigations. The case is being investigated under Section 457 of the Penal Code for house-breaking.

Ex-jockey, former lawyer alleged to have stolen Chanel costume jewellery

A jockey and his ex-lawyer associate are alleged to have tried to steal thousands of dollars of costume jewellery from an inner-city home, a court has been told. Champion jockey Daniel Nikolic, 50, and former lawyer Patrick Lennon, 61, fronted the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Thursday over the alleged illegal entry of a home in Carlton in January. Charge sheets alleged the pair broke into the property at 2am while in possession of a ladder, gloves and a torch, stealing 'multiple bags of jewellery' worth $177,000 and a Toyota HiLux. The pair are yet to enter pleas, and both face three charges; trespassing with intent to steal, stealing a HiLux, and having a ladder, gloves and a torch for use in a burglary. Both men appeared by video link on Thursday following chaotic scenes outside court at their last appearance. Mr Lennon's lawyer, Stephen Adrianakis, revealed the valuables in question were Chanel costume jewellery. Mr Adrianakis expected the jewellery to be worth about $50,000, far less than the prosecution estimates, and asked for an adjournment so the prosecutors can meticulously itemise the goods. 'We need to come to a sensible valuation,' he said. The defence lawyer also flagged he and Mr Nikolic's lawyer were taking 'significant' issue with the police's evidence chain of custody. 'If this were a drug case where the drugs were allowed to be left at the property and handled by the complainant…,' Mr Adrianakis began, before being cut off by the magistrate. Magistrate Belinda Wallington requested the public prosecutor provide an item-by-item glossary of photos and invoices for each allegedly stolen item by August 24. The magistrate gave the defence lawyers four weeks to take those price estimates to their valuers, and the matter was scheduled to be recalled on September 23. Mr Nikolic rode a winner to claim the prestigious Caulfield Cup in 2003, plus a host of elite first-grade winners in the 1990s and 2000s. A former lawyer, Mr Lennon was arrested with more than 10 grams of methamphetamine in his bag but avoided a conviction in 2024 on the possession charge, being placed on a good behaviour bond.
