Where We Are Going Today: Kermal – Lebanese lounge in Jeddah
Located on Al-Kayyal Street in Jeddah, Kermal welcomes you with soft yellow lighting, a cozy interior and vibrant artwork. This Lebanese lounge blends classic flavors with comfort, creating a modern take on a traditional Beirut home. The menu features lots of familiar favorites and a few standouts. We started with the creamy chicken mushroom soup, which was rich and satisfying, served with toast and a squeeze of lemon. The rocaa salad with beetroot was fresh and tangy and made for a simple and pleasant starter. Other appetizers include the shrimp fatteh, which had a crispy, creamy tang thanks to the house salsa and the grape leaves and fried potato cubes with yogurt, which were also very tasty. For mains, the Kermal mixed grill, including juicy lamb chops, tender kebabs and well-seasoned shish tawook served with grilled vegetables, tahini and garlic sauce, was a highlight. Priced at SR135 ($36) it is a generous platter for sharing. The cherry kebab offers a sweet-savory twist and is worth trying, while the sea bass sayadieh was served with fragrant fish rice topped with fried onions and nuts. For dessert, the kashta booza made a refreshing finish — creamy and fragrant with a pistachio crunch. Drinks like the pink mojito and raspberry cooler were sweet and enjoyable. Kermal also has a breakfast menu and lunch deals for options throughout the day. Visit Instagram @ for more details.

I've Tried Dozens of Pajamas. Nothing Can Beat These $9 Trunks.
Over time, I've noticed a few particularly well-designed details in the cut and construction that elevate these trunks above anything else in their price bracket (and even above some pairs that cost two or three times what these do). I find the fit generous without being baggy. The inseam is just long enough to keep me well-covered around the house (for modesty), and the legs are cut wide enough that the shorts don't pull or twist when I move my body or roll around at night. The trunks' fit allows you to wear them as you might wear actual pajamas, whether you're lounging around the house or briefly stepping out to pick up the mail. The most notable feature is the three-panel construction. Most cheaper boxers have a two-panel construction, with a seam running down the center back, but Muji's trunks are cut from three panels. This type of construction is usually seen only on more expensive trunks; in addition to eliminating the uncomfortable rear seam, it creates a more three-dimensional seat to better accommodate your butt and keeps the trunks from riding up. The Muji trunks' three-panel construction omits the center seam and makes them more comfortable. Alex Aciman/NYT Wirecutter They also have a strip of fabric covering the interior crotch seam, also for comfort. All of these construction details add extra steps and time to the manufacturing process, but they produce a pair of boxers that look and feel like so much more than a pair of boxers. Everything about these trunks is designed for comfort and lounging. The clean, covered seams of Muji's trunks. Alex Aciman/NYT Wirecutter The especially sloppy, exposed seams of a pair of made-in-Italy pajamas are a stark contrast. Alex Aciman/NYT Wirecutter The clean, covered seams of Muji's trunks. Alex Aciman/NYT Wirecutter But what really made me fall in love with these trunks is the waistband. I never thought I could ever be moved to care about the waistband on a pair of boxers. And then I tried these. Muji's boxers are the only ones I've ever seen that have an explicit mention of a reduced-tightness waistband in their product description. It is indeed the most comfortable waistband I've ever worn: It provides enough resistance to keep the trunks in place but has such a light touch that I never feel any actual pressure. The soft terry-like loops on the waistband of Muji's boxers. Alex Aciman/NYT Wirecutter Cynically, I suspect that Muji used a cheap waistband and is marketing that decision as a feature rather than a bug. But in this case, I also believe that cheapness is a virtue; the most expensive boxers I've owned have covered waistbands with a strong elastic, and the result is infinitely less comfortable than the terry loops on Muji's low-resistance exposed waistband. The comfortable waistband, along with the crisp, breathable fabric, makes these boxers feel airy and laidback in a way that mimics the leisure and aesthetic purposefulness of real pajamas. I never feel like I am using underwear for off-label purposes. A nice-to-have would be the addition of a button at the fly, but its absence isn't remotely a dealbreaker.

Airports hate these sneaky hacks that can save travelers money this summer, experts say
Airports can seem over the top with their food and beverage prices — but according to travel experts at eShores, sometimes splurging will save you money in the long run. The experts claimed that travelers are wasting their money on 'unnecessary' add-ons for flights, such as early boarding and seat selection, when they should be allocating their money elsewhere. Instead of shelling out money on these frivolous options, the specialists advise spending on extras that will enhance the overall travel experience. Here are the expert-backed add-ons that are worth the splurge and the ones that should be avoided. The experts told the Daily Mail that lounge passes are worth the extra money. The eShore team claimed that the pricey cost of airport lounge access might end up being less money travelers would eventually spend on meals and drinks at the terminal. An airport meal can range from around $20 to $50, while access to a lounge can cost approximately $40 to $60 per person and includes so much more. Another pricey add-on worth looking into is fast-track security, which allows passengers to get their belongings checked in a separate private lane with a reduced wait time. Investing in a program like TSA Pre-Check or CLEAR, or sometimes even third-party services, will help passengers get to their lounge or gate faster. Day trip excursions are also worth the money, according to experts. Rather than paying for separate flights and accommodations while traveling, globetrotters can save a buck by booking an organized day trip. An excursion can offer benefits such as visiting multiple destinations at a cheaper price, which can also include meals and transport. While some perks are worth the money — many others aren't, such as early boarding. The eShore experts claim that paying extra for early boarding is 'rarely' an advantage, especially if a traveler already has an assigned seat. 'Early boarding doesn't guarantee faster departure times; you'll still disembark in the same order,' the experts told the outlet. 'Unless you have mobility needs or are travelling with very young children, it's money better spent on your actual holiday.' Some budget airlines charge passengers to choose their seats on a plane. But the experts claim this isn't worth the money — especially for short flights. 'For short-haul flights under two hours, for many people, being separated isn't the end of the world (and might even mean a bit of quiet time),' they explained. 'Unless you're flying with young children or sitting with your travel companion is a must, this is an easy cost to skip.' Unless you're going on a longer trip, paying for checked luggage might be a waste of money. The experts advise travelers going on a weekend getaway or trips that are just a few days long to skip checking a bag and instead utilize carry-ons. 'With smart packing techniques (think compression cubes and versatile outfits), everything you need for a long weekend or week-long city break can easily fit in hand luggage.'

As of today, Capital One has officially opened its largest lounge yet at JFK, joining its growing portfolio of airport lounges in Denver (DEN), Washington Dulles (IAD) and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW). As a Queens native and lifelong New Yorker, I was especially eager to see how the brand would capture the energy of New York. After touring the lounge and indulging in a few too many bagels, locally brewed beers and a charcuterie board curated by an in-house cheesemonger, I can confidently say Capital One understood the assignment. The new lounge is a sophisticated, food-centric escape from the chaos of both the terminal and the city — the kind of place that might just make you hope for a flight delay. Here's how to get in and what to expect once you're inside. To access Capital One Lounges, you'll need to hold a Capital One Venture X Rewards Credit Card or Capital One Venture X Business, which currently include access for the primary cardholder and up to two guests. But starting February 1, 2026, free guest access will require $75,000 in annual card spend or guests will have to pay $35. Additionally, authorized users will need to pay $125 each to retain their lounge privileges. This terminal is accessible by the AirTrain, which connects to New York's public transportation. After security, you'll have to take the escalators down to find the lounge. Space is a rare commodity in New York and even rarer in a New York City airport. But the Capital One Lounge delivers. The expansive layout includes two private rooms available in 45-minute increments, perfect for taking a work call or sneaking in a quick catnap. While you can't reserve them in advance, there's plenty of room around the lounge to work in privacy. Need to freshen up before takeoff? The lounge features sleek private showers, complete with Dyson hair dryers. There's also a quiet, well-equipped parents' room, designed for soothing little ones back to sleep. Local flavor If you're invested in the world of airport lounges, you probably know that Capital One has made a name for itself with chef-driven food and thoughtful design. The brand has even partnered with culinary titans like José Andrés for its Washington, D.C. (DCA) location, which is equipped with a caviar cart and fresh tapas. At JFK, the food and drink offerings are just as impressive. Upon entrance, the coffee bar serves fresh bagels from the famous Ess-A-Bagel, a New York staple known for its hand-rolled perfection. With classics like a proper BEC (bacon, egg and cheese) and lox on a bagel, breakfast here can feel very New York. The menu also features healthy options like spicy tofu wraps and a New York bodega bowl filled with greens and grains. And because New Yorkers take their caffeine seriously, the coffee selection lives up to the hype. The bar features coffee from local favorite Bean & Bean, plus La Colombe on tap, including a delightful chai draft I'd happily go out of my way for.
