‘No Fear Of Traffic Police': Wrong-Side Driving In Bengaluru Triggers Anger
The video was taken near the Shell petrol pump in Bengaluru's Seegehalli.
Driving on the wrong side of the road has become a growing problem in many cities and Bengaluru is no exception. A recent video from the city has gained attention online which shows a white SUV driving on the wrong side of a busy road without any hesitation. The video was taken near the Shell petrol pump in Seegehalli. It shows the SUV driving on the wrong side of the road. The car even occupies the right-most lane and heads straight into oncoming traffic. Other vehicles on the road can be seen adjusting their path.
The video was posted on X by a user who wrote, 'Wrong side driving is a new norm in Bangalore. Even cars, buses and trucks. This KIA driver was driving on the wrong side of the right most lane. This occurred in front of a shell petrol pump in Seegehalli, Bangalore." The user also tagged Bengaluru Traffic Police in the hope that action would be taken.

Soon after the video was posted, many people started commenting on the post. Most were angry and frustrated with how often such things happen in Bengaluru.
One user commented, 'We need to take so much effort to report these for action from the police. All this for a Rs 500 fine. This won't stop them from repeating it. Fines and enforcement need to be stricter."
Another added, 'No fear of traffic police. We should dismiss and send all the traffic cops home, saving taxpayers' money."
'Same problem at Shell petrol bunk in Thanisandra. The divider opening is directly in front of the Petrol bunk's exit. So, people drive on the wrong way to enter the petrol bunk and create traffic jams," someone pointed out.
'You stop them and they will justify why they are driving on the wrong side. This is what will happen when enforcement is so lax," a person said.
A frustrated individual wrote, 'I can post 100s of wrong-side driving vehicles videos everyday from my dashcam but what's the use? I was interested earlier but no one cares, I lost all hopes. This menace is increasing every day and no action plans to stop this."
'Heavy penalty and license suspension should be imposed. It's a risk to others' lives. How can someone be so ignorant!!" read another comment.
This isn't the first time such reckless driving has been caught on camera in Bengaluru. In December last year, a similar video had caught everyone's eye. It showed a passenger bus, full of people, driving on the wrong side of the road. The incident took place on NICE Road, between the Bannerghatta junction and the Electronic City toll booth.
