I'm 25 with a pensioner fiancé – people call us ‘disgusting' & my parents aren't happy but sparks flew as soon as we met

A WOMAN has revealed her relationship with a man 51 years her senior and says people have dubbed their romance 'disturbing' – including family members. Diana Montano wasn't looking for love when she met Edgar through a mutual friend. 5 5 But as she laid eyes on him, sparks flew. The 25-year-old, who hasn't been in a relationship with someone older before, was sceptical about how people would react; especially her family. And they weren't all too pleased when meeting the pensioner for the first time. But Diana doesn't care what anybody else thinks and says her relationship with Edgar is the most 'intimate and passionate' one she's ever been in. 'I've had some family members who don't agree and think I'm ruining my life,' said the licensed vocational nurse. 'But it doesn't bother me too much. 'I understand how my relationship may appear at first glance, but I know I am happy. 'I had originally planned to talk to my mum privately about it, but I ended up speaking to her when other family members were nearby. 'You could tell by her facial expressions she was not thrilled by the idea of it – but my aunt was so supportive. 'My dad had a similar reaction; I couldn't totally tell what he was thinking, but he wasn't very happy. I'm a fit gran & I fell in love with an AI bot despite having a boyfriend - but I was heartbroken when our chat vanished 'Luckily, my parents understand I am an adult who makes my own decisions. 'All they want is for me to be careful. 'My friends were definitely surprised when I told them, but they love Edgar. 'Sadly, online, it's a different story.' Online abuse Diana and Edgar have had their relationship called 'disturbing' and 'disgusting' by strangers. They've also been sent harsh criticism, such as: 'Your parents did a horrible job', 'This should be illegal' and 'I hope you die before him'. While the pair expected the onslaught of hate, and have learned to deal with it in their own way, they wish people wouldn't always assume the worst. Diana said: 'The comments are extreme, but they make us laugh. 'I've also had a lot of positive words, with people asking how they can find a relationship like ours and asking if Edgar has any brothers. 'For us, though, our age gap isn't the centre of our relationship. 'Yes, it's obvious, and we've had people stare at us in public. 'But everything with him feels so natural. 'Our conversations flow, he treats me with respect and he's actually so full of life.' 5 5 The pair's romance began when Edgar asked their mutual friend, whom he had previously dated, for Diana's number in July 2023. She said: 'He seemed like a gentleman and completely respectful. 'I didn't initially think I would end up getting into a relationship with him since he was so much older than me. 'But he was so handsome. 'My feelings grew after a few months and he told me he liked me from the first day we met and wanted to keep seeing me.' After a year of back and forth messaging, the pair flew to Hawaii and made things official. Diana, from San Diego, US, said: 'He confessed he wishes he was younger so I'd marry him. 'I said I'd marry him as he is now. 'We talked more about our feelings seriously after that and when we got back from our trip, I said yes to being his girlfriend. 'It's just a very exciting, passionate and happy dynamic. 'He makes me want to take care of him and be patient. 'Edgar brings out the best in me – and I bring out the best in him. Diana Montano 'Any fear I have of suddenly losing him is similar to the fear I have with others in my life. 'It doesn't have to do with his age, since he's extremely healthy and fit. 'I think of him more as a 50-year-old.' Edgar has recently taken on a skydive and regularly goes skiing, hiking and to the gym. Diana says he's more active than most people her age. With a zest for life, they go travelling every two months to explore the world. For now, though, they're taking in spending each moment together and hope to share their love story to inspire others – and break the stereotype. Diana added: 'It's a very healthy relationship, which is difficult to find at my age, as there are so many toxic people out there. 'I'm able to maintain my freedom and live life how I want. 'I feel more inclined to be my true self. 'Although we've both found happiness in each other, it's in spite of our ages. 'But if anyone is getting inspired by our relationship and desires a relationship with an age gap, be mindful that they can be tricky. 'I'm very lucky to have met Ed and that he's been such an amazing person to me, but it's not always that case in age gap relationships. 'People should always be attentive to how those they date act, because the risk of emotional, physical and financial abuse increases as your partner's age does. 'But I love being with someone who is mature, patient and understanding. 'I've met my soulmate; there's no one my age like him.' 5

Hong Kong man, 50, left in coma for days after nurse failed to switch on ventilator

A 50-year-old heart disease patient at Queen Mary Hospital has spent several days in coma after a nurse failed to switch on his ventilator for a few minutes in a suspected medical blunder, the Post has learned. Advertisement A source told the Post that the Hospital Authority should have promptly disclosed the July 21 incident as the severity of the matter was of grave public interest, adding that any delay was unjustifiable. 'The patient's heartbeat had stopped after he was deprived of his oxygen supply for a few minutes as the nurse failed to switch on the ventilator following the completion of mucus suction procedures,' the insider said. 'A deprivation of oxygen is highly likely to result in brain damage. The patient quickly suffered a cardiac arrest, requiring immediate resuscitation ... He still remains in a critical condition in the intensive care unit [ICU].' Public hospitals in Hong Kong are required to report serious medical incidents to the head office within 24 hours, according to Hospital Authority policy. Advertisement While the information is reported internally, some incidents may also be disclosed publicly, depending on factors such as severity, public health impact, improvement measures and the need to maintain public trust.

I got kicked out of a wedding because of my ‘inappropriate' outfit… people say the ‘horrid' bride got married ‘for show'

A MOTHER has revealed that she travelled two hours to a wedding, only to be kicked out because of her "inappropriate" outfit. The mum-of-two, who is from the US and is a Korean language student, explained that not long after arriving at the nuptials, she was confronted by the bride about the colour of her dress. 2 Fuming with the situation, Elisé Brown acknowledged that when talking to the bride, she was told there was a 'dress code' which her colourful frock didn't meet. Eager to alert others to the awkward ordeal, posting on social media, the content creator uploaded a clip with the caption 'Got kicked out of a wedding reception for being out of a dress code I didn't know existed!' As she filmed herself sitting in her car, the nurse said: 'So I am currently sitting in my car because I came two hours to a wedding for one of my husband's friends and we have been here a total of 15 minutes, and the bride comes up to me and tells me that my outfit is ' inappropriate ' for her wedding. 'There was a supposed dress code that I didn't know existed because I never got a wedding invitation mailed to my house - it was a text message that my husband received.' With intentions to celebrate the couple saying 'I Do' in style, Elisé wore a colourful dress containing dark blue, light blue, pale pink and white. But the irritated woman later confirmed that since leaving the wedding, she was informed that the dress code was 'navy, yellow, maroon or grey.' Elisé acknowledged that she had never met the bride prior to the big day, but did know the groom, as he had been friends with her husband for 20 years. She later confirmed that the bride didn't bother to greet her or formally introduce herself prior to their conversation, but was clearly not impressed with her outfit choice. After the embarrassing conversation with the 'rude' bride, Elisé 'walked out' of the wedding and headed back to her car. Clearly fuming, Elisé added: 'But in 2025, is this what brides do to their guests now? You walk up to your guests and tell them that the outfit they're wearing is not appropriate for their wedding?' I'm 5ft3 & a size 12-14 - my 7 Tesco dresses are an absolute bargain & perfect for a last-minute wedding guest outfit Stunned by the situation, the shocked mother then shared: 'I didn't know that was a thing. I mean, I've been married for 11 years. 'This is what we do to our guests? I'm kind of disappointed and I'm really ready to go home.' Social media users react The TikTok clip, which was posted under the username @ ebrown_rn, has clearly left many open-mouthed, as it has quickly gone viral and racked up 2.7 million views, 106,300 likes and 8,462 comments. But social media users were gobsmacked by the situation and many hailed the bride as 'horrid' and claimed she only got married 'for show.' One person said: 'That ain't a wedding, that's a funeral of a friendship.' Another added: 'I think dress codes at weddings are horrid. Weddings have gotten out of control.' A third commented: 'If a bride is roaming around and taking time to be rude to guests, she's got issues that you don't need to think about twice.' Wedding Guest Outfit Etiquette If you're struggling to decided on a dress to see you through wedding season, here's a few rules on what not to wear so you don't get in trouble. Folklore says that wearing red at a wedding means you slept with the groom. Casual attire like jeans and flip flops should always be avoided. Any colour that could be picked up as white or cream - even if it's not. Most would agree that your cleavage needs to be covered. Wearing white is a massive no-no if you're not the bride. At the same time, someone else wrote: 'Apparently she got married for show, so that will last long and happy.' Not only this, but one user was gobsmacked and questioned: 'What??? You look fantastic!!! That's crazy!' Whilst another user sighed: 'That's very rude. I'm sorry that happened to you.' Meanwhile, one woman asked: 'And did you take your gift back with you?' To this, the woman confirmed: 'I didn't; it was only a $25 gift card. I literally walked out so quickly after her comment. I was HEATED.'

Trigger – K-Drama Episode 10 Recap, Review & Ending Explained

A New World Trigger Episode 10 starts with Lee Do and Moon-baek at a café enjoying a meal together. Moon-baek asks Lee Do about his childhood experience. He also asks Lee Do if he thinks about taking revenge. Lee Do says that finding the guy who broke into their house and shooting him is not worth it. Revenge is not always the right choice, especially when it destroys someone. Does the nurse pull the trigger? The nurse reaches a breaking point when her mother calls to ask about her. She has been working night shift for weeks, and the nurses still bully her. She takes the gun and heads out, determined to end her oppressors. However, she is distracted by the riots erupting in the square. She sees the image of Lee Do and the child and decides not to use the gun. Instead, she hands it to the authorities when the citizens voluntarily surrender their firearms. What happens to Moon-baek? Moon-baek organises a gun legalisation rally. Those supporting the legalisation and those against are extremely tense, and the atmosphere at the rally is heated with arguments. Moon-baek drives a lorry full of guns into the rally and starts handing out free guns. He is determined to show Lee Do that when given a chance, the people will choose violence, instead of Lee Do's belief that they will choose the morally right thing. He is determined to crash Lee Do's belief in a gun-free country and that guns lead to destruction. In his view, guns empower the people. At the protest, Moon-baek is shot, which sparks the riots as the protestors start shooting randomly. Moon-baek collapses to the ground, but it is unclear whether he shot himself to achieve his goals or if someone else shot him. However, he does not die, but at the end of the episode, he is in the hospital in a coma. What happens to Lee Do? Lee Do leaves Hyun-sik's burial and heads to the Free Guns' protest. Moon-baek calls him to a room, and gives his speech about his disappointing high moral ground. Lee Do insists that guns are not the answer. They will not lead to a new utopia as Moon-baek claims, but will only plunge the country into destruction. Moon-baek leaves him held at gunpoint by his men when a truck drives into the protest to hand out free guns. However, Lee Doo easily subdues the men holding him at gunpoint and follows Moon-baek outside. Lee is determined to take down Moon-baek. However, the chaos intensifies, and Moon-baek drops smoke bombs. Lee chooses not to pull the trigger as a single gunshot would intensify fear, causing the people at the protest to shoot indiscriminately. Lee Do hesitates. When chaos erupts at the rally, he drops his gun and runs to protect a little boy stuck in the middle of the chaos. He embraces the boy, shielding him from the bullets. His image of him embracing the boy wins the hearts of the citizens. He chose to save humanity over his self-interest. How does the series end? The ending shows that Moon-baek survived and was admitted to the hospital. However, his chances of survival are still slim given that he lost a lot of blood and has a history of cancer. Meanwhile, Jake decides to replace Moon-baek, sending someone to end his life. Jake's philosophy is to spend a dollar to make five, but Moon-baek has been a total disappointment. The country re-establishes its gun-free status when the citizens hand over the guns to the authorities. Lee Do keeps his job as a police officer. He is content with his life and now takes care of the little boy he saved during the riot. Is there a possibility of a second season? A blonde woman enters Moon-baek's hospital room with a gun. With Jake's plan to set up a new plan in motion, will the woman replace Moon-baek in South Korea and continue the plan to bring guns into South Korea? This leaves room for a possible season 2. The Episode Review This Netflix K-drama gave us a lot to mull over. What exactly do we consider justice? Are guns the problem, or is it human beings? Throughout this show, we have seen different conflicts. In some cases, we could almost understand why these people chose to pull the trigger. There is only so much pain and suffering humans can take at the hands of each other. For example, take the school shooting incident. Most of us could relate to Gyu-jin and Yeong-dung. Even though we don't support their choices, we know the pain Seong-jun caused in their lives. While Moon-baek was in the wrong, one can't help but wonder if he could have turned out differently if he hadn't been abused as a child. The whole nature vs nurture discussion comes in here. Whether we admit it or not, we sometimes inadvertently create monsters by hurting people. This is why it is important to treat others with respect and try to live honourably. Most conflicts in this show were caused by people's bad attitudes towards each other. It doesn't help that the justice system is broken. People's mental health is declining, and many have no moral compass or remorse. We also have to talk about Lee Do. Unlike Moon-baek, he chose a different path. A path of healing and protecting. Even so, society tested his patience every day. Still, he endured and persevered. His character is commendable. What are your thoughts on Trigger? Did you get the impactful message the show was trying to pass? Previous Episode Expect A Full Season Write-Up When This Season Concludes!
