T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon are experiencing major issues in Kansas City

If you're in Kansas City and have been having trouble placing calls, you're not alone. T-Mobile, and possibly AT&T and Verizon as well, are all experiencing major issues across the city right now. These problems have reportedly been ongoing for a week now, with no fix in sight. One T-Mobile user brought attention to this in an online forum thread. Apparently, T-Mobile coverage has been spotty recently, and calls are dropping the moment a user leaves an area covered by 5G. According to the post, similar problems have been occurring on other networks as well. The situation is bad enough that one establishment was unable to process card payments as its connection to its carrier had dropped. Coworkers of the original poster have also corroborated the claims, and so have random customers at an eatery. User reports at other places also indicate that Kansas City is having problems with calls, data, and even complete loss of service. As of now, there has been no word from T-Mobile , AT&T , or Verizon . These problems will likely continue for the next few days until someone takes notice and applies a fix. T-Mobile has an expansive and robust network across the States. | Image credit — T-Mobile Such outages are, of course, not something to be too concerned about. However, if these issues have indeed persisted for a week now, I can understand the frustration that residents of the city may be feeling. There might be work going on at certain cell sites, or some towers may have gone down and teams might already be working to fix them up. T-Mobile recently fortified its network massively across the state of Florida. The new and improved Florida T-Mobile infrastructure will massively help in dealing with the extreme weather conditions that often occur there. However, technical problems are a dime a dozen, and problems like the ones currently taking place in Kansas City are to be all of the major carriers are having problems in the city, then the cause might be a more complicated one that may take a bit longer to resolve. We've reached out to T-Mobile , AT&T , and Verizon for a comment and will update the story when we have a response.

Downed cell tower has left many Thorhild County residents without service for weeks

Many residents in Thorhild County, Alta., have been without cellphone service for three weeks, after thieves downed a 106-metre Telus tower. Businesses are scrambling, while families worry about their inability to reach each other or access help during an emergency. Monique Janice Chartrand, who owns a roofing company, sends her children to stay with their father in the hamlet of Thorhild when she is working out of town. "Just in case something ever happened — like if one of the kids fell down the stairs, or something like that, and you need to call 911," Chartrand told CBC News Friday. She recalled how much she relied on her mobile phone during the wildfire evacuation of Fort McMurray, Alta., where she used to live. Residents in parts of Thorhild County, about 85 kilometres northeast of Edmonton, were forced to flee wildfire in May. "Just imagine trying to get a hold of your loved ones and you're in a panic trying to get all your stuff out of your house," Chartrand said. Just after 9 a.m. MT on June 14, RCMP say officers responded to a call about the downed cell tower on Range Road 233. All of its copper wiring was stolen. Investigators believe the vandalism occurred around 5 a.m. that day, when the roughly 150 farmers served by the tower lost service, police say. Telus customers between Clyde, Alta., and Thorhild County have had wireless services disrupted, a company spokesperson told CBC News via email. They did not specify how many customers have been impacted. "As a temporary solution, our teams have adjusted nearby antennas to provide as much coverage as possible to the community, though there may be some customers who experience intermittent or no service," the spokesperson said. "We are working quickly to build a new tower, which we anticipate will be completed in September." Telus encourages anyone with information about the incident to contact police, they said. The incident is the second such act of vandalism to affect a Telus tower north of Edmonton in less than three months, the company spokesperson said. RCMP confirmed to CBC News that, in late March, vandals destroyed another tower near Bruderheim, Alta., a town roughly 45 kilometres northeast of Edmonton and 50 kilometres south of Thorhild County. Although, police said nothing was stolen. Police said a cut guy wire — a tensioned cable used to stabilize freestanding structures — caused the tower, located off of Highway 15, to collapse. "We are deeply concerned about the increasing frequency of these acts of vandalism," the Telus spokesperson said. That tower's rebuild is expected to be finished at the end of the month, they said.

Spectrum service in Los Angeles fully restored after ‘criminal act of vandalism'

A 'criminal act of vandalism' on Spectrum fiber optic lines over the weekend led to a service outage in parts of L.A. on Sunday, but the company says that service has now been fully restored. 'Early this morning our fiber optic lines were intentionally cut in Los Angeles due to vandalism,' the internet and cable provider said in a statement on Sunday. The statement did not specify how many customers were affected by the outage, only disclosing that it affected 'some residents and businesses.' The fiber lines were cut in multiple places in Van Nuys. In another statement issued to KTLA, a spokesperson confirmed that services were restored on Monday morning. 'We brought in extra crews to get the repairs done as quickly as possible and finished restoring services this morning,' the spokesperson said. 'We thank our customers who were affected for their patients, and we are providing them a full day of credit.' Large mob ransacks South Los Angeles AutoZone; incident may be connected to street takeover The company is offering a $25,000 reward for any person who provides credible information leading directly to the arrest and conviction of any individual or individuals involved in theft or vandalism of the Spectrum network. Spectrum also added that 'criminal acts of network vandalism' have become increasingly common within the entire telecommunications industry, mostly because of the price increase for precious metals. That said, Spectrum officials say their fiber lines do not have copper, which is what most metal thieves are after. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
