'The two occupants needed to be extracted from the vehicle, but did not report any injuries at that time,' the email said. 'The investigation is ongoing, and the highway is expected to reopen within the hour.'

Two people are dead and one person is in critical condition after a vehicle collision on Siksika Nation, say RCMP. Gelichen RCMP responded to a collision involving pedestrians at 9:30 p.m. Saturday on Siksika Nation, RCMP said in a release. 'Five people were walking when they were hit by a vehicle,' according to police. Two residents of Siksika Nation — a 27-year-old man and a 45-year-old man — were pronounced dead, while a 45-year-old woman, also a Siksika Nation resident, is in critical condition. Two other people were uninjured. The vehicle fled the scene. The RCMP major crimes unit is investigating. RCMP ask anyone who has video footage of the area between 8 and 10 p.m. to contact them. Anyone with information is asked to contact Gleichen RCMP at 403-734-3923, or to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or through or the P3 Tips app.

49-year-old Moncton woman dead after Berry Mills crash

A 49-year-old Moncton, N.B., woman is dead after two vehicles collided in Berry Mills, N.B., Friday morning. In a statement, RCMP said the crash happened on Berry Mills Road around 9 a.m. AT between a pickup truck and an SUV. Police believe the woman, who was driving the SUV, was travelling northbound when her vehicle crossed the centre line and collided with the pickup truck. RCMP said the woman was the only person in the SUV and was pronounced dead at the scene. There were two people in the pickup truck and they were taken to hospital with injuries that aren't considered life threatening.
