Jensen Ackles' ‘Countdown' storms global charts despite brutal critic reviews
Jensen Ackles is riding high once again as his new Prime Video series Countdown surges in popularity across the globe. Despite launching to a lukewarm 31% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes, the high-octane thriller has soared into the Top 10 streaming charts in more than 25 countries, including the U.S. and U.K. Audience response has been far more enthusiastic, with Countdown currently boasting a 72% rating on Popcornmeter. Initially dismissed as a Terminal List knockoff, Countdown is now proving to be far more than that. Ackles stars as a former black-ops operative pulled back into the field amid a web of government lies and a deadly countdown. His performance has drawn comparisons to Chris Pratt's James Reece, but many fans say Ackles brings more heart, grit, and intensity to the role. The series was created by veteran showrunner Derek Haas, known for launching the One Chicago franchise (Chicago Fire, P.D., and Med) and co-writing action hits like Wanted and 2 Fast 2 Furious. With Haas' fast-paced storytelling and Ackles' undeniable screen presence, Countdown mixes emotional stakes with adrenaline-pumping action. Ackles is joined by a powerhouse cast including Jessica Camacho (Bosch: Legacy), Eric Dane (Euphoria), and Violett Beane (The Flash). Together, they drive a tense narrative filled with conspiracies, betrayals, and nail-biting suspense. The show's structure, layered with twists and constant escalation, makes it perfect binge material. As buzz builds online, Prime Video appears to have a surprise summer hit on its hands. Ackles, who rose to fame with Supernatural, is also set to return as Soldier Boy in The Boys Season 5 next year and lead the newly announced prequel Vought Rising. From underdog to international streaming phenomenon, Countdown is a comeback story both for Ackles and for character-driven action TV.

When is Euphoria season 3 releasing? Everything we know so far
By Aman Shukla Published on July 21, 2025, 20:20 IST Last updated July 21, 2025, 20:21 IST Alright, Euphoria fans, let's talk about the elephant in the room: we've been waiting FOREVER for Season 3, and the anticipation is killing us. Since that jaw-dropping Season 2 finale back in February 2022, we've been refreshing our feeds, hoping for any crumb of news about Rue, Jules, and the rest of the East Highland crew. So, when is Euphoria Season 3 finally hitting our screens? What's the vibe going to be? And who's even coming back? Here's everything we know so far. When Is Euphoria Season 3 Coming Out? Drumroll, please… Euphoria Season 3 is officially in the works, with cameras rolling in Los Angeles as of February 10, 2025. But—and I hate to be the bearer of bad news—you're gonna need to chill until 2026 to watch it. Yep, you heard that right. According to JB Perrette, the big boss of Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming division, we're looking at a 2026 premiere. No specific date yet, so don't hold your breath for a trailer dropping this week or anything. Why the long wait? Well, it's been a wild ride. The 2023 Hollywood strikes threw a wrench in things, slowing down writing and filming. Plus, the cast is basically a lineup of A-listers now—Zendaya's out here starring in blockbusters, Sydney Sweeney's booking every role in Hollywood, and Jacob Elordi's, well, being Jacob Elordi. Scheduling them all is probably like herding cats. Oh, and let's not forget the heartbreaking loss of Angus Cloud (our beloved Fez) in July 2023, which shook everyone up. On top of that, Sam Levinson, the show's mastermind, is a perfectionist who takes his sweet time crafting each episode. Colman Domingo, aka Ali, spilled that it takes about a month to shoot just one episode because Levinson's so meticulous. So, yeah, 2026 it is. Who is Coming Back in Euphoria Season 3? The good news? Most of the OGs are returning. HBO confirmed the 'principal cast' is back, so you can expect to see: Zendaya as Rue, obviously, because there's no Euphoria without her. Hunter Schafer as Jules, hopefully giving us more of that emotional depth. Jacob Elordi as Nate, still probably stirring up trouble. Sydney Sweeney as Cassie, ready for more unhinged moments. Alexa Demie as Maddy, serving looks and attitude. Maude Apatow as Lexi, the queen of subtle shade. Eric Dane as Cal Jacobs, who's got some serious explaining to do. Colman Domingo as Ali, popping in as a guest star to drop wisdom. What to expect in Euphoria Season 3? Okay, let's get into the juicy stuff. Season 3 is shaking things up with a five-year time jump. That's right—no more high school drama. Our faves are all grown up, navigating their messy 20s. Zendaya teased this back in 2022, saying she was stoked to see where Rue and the gang end up post-graduation. Costume designer Heidi Bivens also confirmed the time jump, so expect some fire new looks (because Euphoria fashion never misses). Sam Levinson's calling Season 3 a 'film noir' vibe, which sounds super dark and moody—think Rue brooding in a trench coat or something. The focus is on Rue grappling with what it means to stick to her principles in a messed-up world. After everything she went through in Season 2 (that intervention scene still gives me chills), we are rooting for her to find some peace. Zendaya, who's not just starring but also executive producing, hinted she wants a bit of 'happiness and joy' for Rue. Fingers crossed, because our girl deserves a break. Sydney Sweeney has legs for days as she cuddles her new puppy in swimsuit snaps
Sydney Sweeney had legs for days as she cuddled her new puppy in her Instagram post over the weekend. The 27-year-old actress slipped into a skintight, long-sleeved spring suit while enjoying a boating excursion on the lake with her precious pooch. Alongside the video of herself smiling and hugging her dog, she wrote in her caption that she was sharing a 'sully update :).' This comes shortly after she adopted her new German Shepherd puppy Sully Bear in April and showed him off in glamorous fashion as she headed to a Met Gala afterparty the following month. The Euphoria star — who is preparing to launch a lingerie brand with $1 billion backing from Jeff Bezos amid rumors she signed on with Amazon MGM to become the next 007 Bond girl — aptly accompanied her post with the song Good Dog from Tall Guy Short Songs. In the short clip, she appeared fresh-faced with wet hair after enjoying a dip in the waters. On the same day, the White Lotus alum also took to her Instagram Story to share another clip of herself sitting on the floor of the boat and looking up at her puppy. Over the adorable video, she wrote 'my big bear' alongside a red heart emoji. She also shared a photo of her puppy lying down in the shallow waters of the sandy shore as she enjoyed some time unwinding on the lake. She first posted her puppy Sully in late April just shortly after news broke that she and her fiancé Jonathan Davino ended their engagement after seven years together. Her outing comes shortly after her unexpected, solo attendance at billionaire Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez's lavish wedding in Venice, Italy. She was one of the more surprising celebs spotted at the event, and had many scratching their heads since she doesn't appear to be close friends with either the bride or the groom. The star made headlines during the festivities by partying with the likes of Tom Brady and recently-single Orlando Bloom. Still, her inclusion at the lavish $50 million wedding left some baffled, though another recent business collaboration sheds some light on why she was actually there. She first posted her puppy Sully in late April just shortly after news broke that she and her fiancé Jonathan Davino ended their engagement after seven years together; pictured May in New York City It seems Sweeney's arrival was a show of respect for her future boss Bezos, as per Page Six. Back in March, Sweeney signed on to star in the video game adaptation of the recent hit Split Fiction. The adaptation will be directed by Jon M. Chu (Wicked) and written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool & Wolverine). Then in early June, Amazon MGM Studios picked up the project, which seemingly lead to an invite extended to Sweeney for Bezos' wedding. A source admitted Sweeney 'is not friends with either one of them,' though adding she 'came to pay respect to the 'boss just like in the old days of Hollywood.' The fantasy/sci-fi game Split Fiction follows authors Mio and Zoe who become trapped within the worlds they have written. It's unclear which of the two main characters Sweeney will portray, with Amazon said to be 'actively looking' to cast her co-star. Her affiliation with Jeff, who has creative control of the next James Bond movie, also appears to have brought her closer to one of the most esteemed roles a Hollywood star could ask for — that of a Bond Girl. A movie source said: 'Sydney is the top name on the casting sheet for Bond. Denis believes she is hugely talented, as well as having an alluring appeal to younger generations, vital in modernizing the franchise... 'They've hung out together a lot and he has admired her stratospheric rise. Plus she has the quality of being athletic and able to perform physical scenes, as well as being feminine and following in the legacy of Bond girls.'
