I test graphics cards all day, and these early Prime Day GPU deals are ripping you off — buy these instead

Ever since I started testing GPUs, I've been waiting for the moment to say my favorite graphics cards are on sale. I did start as a deals writer, so the high I'd feel to tell you that you could save money on an RTX 5060 Ti or RTX 5070 Ti would be significant. But that's not happened, and frustratingly (given the fact Nvidia did say stock was getting back to normal), the problem is worse than its ever been. What do I mean? Well, there are so-called 'deals' popping up as we head towards Prime Day that are still astronomically overpriced. Worst example? $1,000 for an RTX 5070 Ti! Well, I'm going to put my deals hat on for a little bit and point you to the best GPU prices you can get right now, so that you don't fall for these trash savings (that aren't actually savings). I've checked for GPU stock over the course of this entire year, and one thing has become abundantly clear — scalping is not really a thing in Britain. That's not to say it doesn't exist. There are still plenty of cards that are being sold for £30-50 more. But stocking issues don't seem to be plaguing the U.K. as much, and because of that, retailers will be selling some models at (or even below) recommended retail price (RRP). This is for the model with 16GB of video memory (the right one to buy), and scalpers be damned you can get £82 off! This is also £2 less than Nvidia's own RRP. A whole £30 below RRP, but you wouldn't know that looking at the retailer page! This is my favorite GPU of Nvidia's entire range, and at this price, it's a definite buy. Unfortunately, that's where the Nvidia party ends for GPUs under RRP, as price quickly jumps up with RTX 5080 and 5090. But enough showing off about the U.K. — let's try and find my friends in the States a little something. As I said, with a $1,000 RTX 5070 Ti being called a 'deal' is diabolical, but there are three tips I can give you if you're shopping around right now: Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Got all that? Good! Rather than go immediately for the first thing you see a big red sale sticker on, go for these instead. This falls into that $50 area of acceptable price increases, and you're getting a rather impressive GPU here with 16GB of video memory and all of AMD's upcoming FSR 4 tech that is really taking the fight to Nvidia's DLSS. Well, well well! A 16GB version of the 5060 Ti at MSRP. This is going to get snapped up quick, so be speedy about grabbing this — definitely an encouraging sign of normalizing prices. My main gripe with the RTX 5070 was the fact it was never available at retail price. Well, Best Buy has shocked me with this MSRP beast of a buy. Snag it while you can. Anything further above this, and you're looking at some shocking price increases. That's why a pre-built PC could be the way forward here. To replicate the exact specs of this (AMD Ryzen 7 9800 X3D, 32GB DDR5 RAM, 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD, etc), you'd be spending $100 more for the parts individually.

AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT released globally: What you need to know before you buy?

The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT is the latest release in the midrange GPU market. It is positioned as a direct competitor to NVIDIA's RTX 5060 Ti GPU and targets gamers looking for strong 1080p or 1440p gaming performance without spending too much. Here is a breakdown of what you need to know before considering this GPU for your next purchase. The AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT delivers solid 1080p and 1440p gaming performance. It matches the performance of the NVIDIA RTX 5060 Ti but at a much lower price. In benchmarks, it performs significantly better than the previous RX 7600 XT and matches the RTX 5060 Ti at 1440p. It is capable of running most modern titles at about 70 FPS at 1440p, which is commendable at this price point. The RX 9060 XT can also run modern titles up to 4K at playable frame rates, thanks to the FSR 4 upscaling technology released earlier this year. Ray tracing has substantially improved over the years in AMD's GPUs but still lags behind NVIDIA's DLSS 4 and frame generation technology for ray-traced workloads. It can deliver playable frame rates at 1440p with ray tracing enabled, but performance significantly drops at 4K with path tracing enabled. The RX 9060 XT features FSR 4, powered by second-generation AI accelerators, which boosts frame rates and image quality. The HYPR-RX suite includes Radeon Super Resolution and Fluid Motion Frames for even smoother gameplay. This GPU is ideal for anyone looking for high frame rates at 1080p and 1440p, along with extra VRAM for future titles. It suits gamers who want to save money without compromising on modern features like AI upscaling and ray tracing. AI hobbyists can also benefit from the card's robust AI acceleration capabilities. The Radeon RX 9060 XT was officially launched globally on June 5, 2025, with two models varying in VRAM. Official AIB partners like ASUS, MSI and Sapphire may release the GPU with pricing between ₹44,999 and ₹49,999 in India.

Where to buy AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT — Stock checker of all the retailers I recommend in US and UK

Now that RTX 5060 is out in the wild, it's the AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT's time to shine. And based on the performance and price leaks, Nvidia must be feeling nervous right now. With an MSRP of $299 for the 8GB model and $349 for the 16GB, this is a mightily impressive deal for what you get — a higher number of peak AI operations per second to run all that FSR 4 neural gameplay enhancements, a faster boost clock and more. And on paper, this translates to pretty much level performance to the RTX 5060 Ti but at a far cheaper price. Throw in the new FSR techniques codenamed 'Redstone' to bring even better path tracing and frame generation, and this looks like it could be the GPU hit of the summer. The RX 9060 XT will be launching tomorrow (June 5). Time-wise, nothing has been said for sure, but we're anticipating stock to drop at 9am ET / 2pm BST. Right here, we're listing all the retailers you will be able to buy one from. Pricing is just MSRP (for now): There have been leaks of pricing falling within MSRP in the U.K. and being around $20-$50 more expensive in the U.S. But we can't say for sure yet. Once we know the prices when stock drops, we'll update the pricing down below! If the RX 9070 and 9070 XT stock is anything to go by, expect Amazon to drip-feed 9060 XTs over the course of the next few days. Keep checking here. Best Buy has been one of the first retailers out the gate with AMD GPU stock. Nothing is visible yet, but they will appear under this search when they are up. Newegg is usually quick on the launch, but also one of the fastest to sell out of GPUs. If you've got a fast clicking finger, be prepared for this stock. For past AMD GPUs, B&H has been the place to go for overclockable versions that will come with a bit of a price bump. Product listings are live, and after leaks showed prices will probably start at MSRP, Overclockers was quick to change the pricing to 6 grand. Don't worry, this is just to hide costs! CCL was one of the better retailers in terms of stocking and site reliability during all the past launches, so I'd expect the same here. eBuyer has all of its listings up and ready for you to be notified when they go on sale! No listings yet, but much like U.S., Amazon is probably going to slowly roll out its stock. If you search specifically for "RX 9060 XT" and now the full name, you can see the listings for Box's offering. The PS5 Pro will soon benefit from AMD's FSR 4 upscaling

Sony is set to enhance the PlayStation 5 Pro's visual performance by integrating AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) upscaling technology. This advancement stems from a collaboration between Sony and AMD, known as Project Amethyst, aiming to elevate the console's graphical fidelity. FSR 4, recently unveiled alongside AMD's Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT graphics cards with RDNA 4 architecture, leverages machine learning with an aim to deliver image quality that is on par with Nvidia's Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS). Unlike its predecessors, FSR 4 utilizes hardware-based machine learning for upscaling, optimizing performance and visual clarity. Mark Cerny, PlayStation's lead system architect, recently spoke to Digital Foundry where he highlighted that the neural network and training methodologies in FSR 4 are direct outcomes of the Amethyst collaboration, offering a more advanced approach that surpasses the current PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR). The integration of FSR 4 into the PS5 Pro is currently targeted for gaming titles launching in 2026, with ongoing efforts to adapt the technology to the console's architecture. Cerny expressed confidence in the PS5 Pro's machine learning capabilities, noting its peak performance of 300 8-bit Tera Operations Per Second (TOPS), which aligns favorably with AMD's latest GPUs. Machine learning and ray tracing are going to be the PS5 Pro's key upgrades and could well be part of AMD's Amethyst project. During the RDNA 4 reveal, AMD showcased a demo using path tracing and neural rendering, including a denoising feature similar to Nvidia's ray reconstruction. While it is too early to say whether this integration will be successful, the development signifies a notable enhancement in upscaling technology for the PS5 Pro, promising gamers crisper and more stable visuals in future titles.

PlayStation's Mark Cerny says a version of FSR 4 could be implemented on the PS5 Pro

AMD just debuted its new FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) upscaling tech on the latest Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 Ti GPUs, and it sounds like it might not be limited PCs. According to a new Digital Foundry interview with Mark Cerny, some version of FSR 4 will make it into the PlayStation 5 Pro via a software update rather than new hardware. "Our target is to have something very similar to FSR 4's upscaler available on PS5 Pro for 2026 titles as the next evolution of PSSR," Cerny tells Digital Foundry. The PS5 Pro's PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) is a custom upscaling technology that lets the console run lower-resolution versions of games and make them appear like they're 4K, and by Cerny's own lengthy explanation, it was created using a combination of existing and future AMD tech. Based on our review of AMD's new GPUs, FSR 4 is not a miracle worker. In some cases it leads to a lower frame rate than you might get from FSR 3, but in exchange for more detail. That extra crispness, while subtle, will probably make a difference to someone who's already spent $700 on a "Pro" console. The comparison video below does a pretty good job of illustrating the improvements FSR 4 actually makes: Sony believes implementing FSR 4 on the PS5 Pro is even possible in the first place because the company also directly contributed to the development of the tech through its "Project Amethyst" collaboration with AMD. "The neural network (and training recipe) in FSR 4's upscaler are the first results of the Amethyst collaboration," according to Cerny. The company's work with AMD was announced with a focus on building new machine learning architecture for game graphics, but it will clearly have more immediate impacts on PSSR and current PlayStation consoles, too. "FSR 4 and this next evolution of PSSR are a paradigm for our future," Cerny tells Digital Foundry, "going forward we expect to have our own implementations of each of the algorithms developed through the collaboration."
