RBC Raises Ferrari (RACE) Price Target, Maintains Buy Rating

Ferrari N.V. (NYSE:RACE) is one of the most profitable consumer stocks to buy now. RBC Capital Markets analyst Tom Narayan raised his price target on Ferrari N.V. (NYSE:RACE) to $581.42 from $569.79 while reiterating a Buy rating on the stock, citing strong brand strength and continued demand resilience in the luxury auto segment. The revision, though modest, reflects confidence in Ferrari's positioning as a premium automaker with pricing power and a loyal global customer base. Photo by M on Unsplash At the current market price of $507.70, the new target implies an upside potential of nearly 14.5%. RBC's update comes amid growing investor interest in high-end consumer goods, particularly brands that have shown the ability to grow margins despite a complex macro backdrop. Narayan noted that Ferrari N.V. (NYSE:RACE) continues to benefit from limited supply, robust order books, and a steady shift toward hybrid and future EV models, all without sacrificing its exclusivity. Ferrari's recent financial performance has backed up the bullish outlook. The company has consistently delivered solid earnings, supported by strong ASPs (average selling prices) and disciplined cost management. Expansion plans, including a new plant in Maranello focused on electric vehicles, are seen as long-term growth drivers. With shares already up sharply over the past year, investors are now looking to upcoming quarterly results for evidence that Ferrari can maintain its momentum and justify its premium valuation as it races toward an increasingly electrified future. But the Ferrari-powered HF355 might be Hazan's most distinctive build yet. About the Author Stephen Edelstein View Profile

Luxury automakers have a more aggressive tariff battle plan

Small businesses get a lot of attention during campaign season. You don't have to search long for a soundbite of a politician calling small businesses the "backbone of our economy" or the "lifeblood of America" or some other metaphor. While some argue that the giant omnibus bill that was passed earlier this month provides relief to small businesses through tax breaks, evidence shows that tariffs, President Donald Trump's primary economic agenda, have done immeasurable harm to small businesses. Related: Another luxury car maker is taken down by US tariffs More than 97% of the companies that import goods are small businesses with fewer than 500 employees, according to the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Nearly half of those small businesses had fewer than 50 employees. Those small businesses were responsible for a third of the total value of goods imported. Big businesses also import a lot of goods, but they often have more flexibility when it comes to shifting supply chain strategies. This is not the same for small businesses. "For many small business importers, even a small increase in tariffs can have a profound effect on their bottom line," the Chamber of Commerce report states. "These businesses typically operate with tight profit margins and limited financial flexibility." This dynamic is also being played out in the auto space, where luxury automakers have been more aggressive with their strategy to combat tariffs, while non-luxury automakers, like small businesses, are forced to be more cautious. Image source: Lucy/Getty Images President Trump has been very clear that he doesn't want automakers to raise prices due to his tariffs. General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis, the three domestic manufacturers, have all agreed to those terms, usually blaming regular seasonal price adjustments for any increases. Foreign companies with large manufacturing footprints in the U.S. have also acquiesced to the president's wishes, while also attributing the minimal price increases to seasonality. But luxury automakers don't seem to be toeing the same line. Aston Martin British luxury automaker Aston Martin (makers of the iconic James Bond car) plans to raise prices on some of its cars and limit shipments to the U.S. Ferrari Italian marque Ferrari says it will raise prices as much as 10% on most of its models, even models that have already been sold. Ferrari sales contracts allow the company to adjust pricing due to changing economic conditions, according to Reuters. Mercedes-Benz German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz recently reported a 9% second-quarter sales decline that it blamed on tariffs. But Mercedes has a significant manufacturing presence in the U.S., and in response ,it plans to add production capacity at its Alabama plant. Jaguar Land Rover Jaguar Land Rover announced that it was pausing U.S. shipments from the UK in April before restarting them after the the U.S. and UK announced they had reached a deal on the framework for a tariff deal. BMW Group BMW Group, which includes BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce, initially stated that it would absorb tariff costs, but it has since said that it will raise prices on the 2 Series that it builds in Mexico. Meanwhile Mini is delaying bringing its Chinese-built electric Aceman crossover and convertible Cooper to the U.S. due to the tariffs. Ferrari F1 boss Fred Vasseur receives backing of Toto Wolff: ‘Leave him space'

Toto Wolff has backed close friend Fred Vasseur to turn Ferrari 's fortunes around after a disappointing start to the 2025 F1 season. While McLaren, Red Bull and Mercedes have all won at least one of the first 12 races, Ferrari are yet to land a grand prix victory and star driver Lewis Hamilton has not finished on the podium yet. Ferrari's underwhelming first half of the season has put Ferrari team principal Vasseur's position in some doubt, but Wolff urged the Italian outfit to stick with the Frenchman. 'It seems to be a bit of a revolving door with teams generally,' Wolff said, regarding team principal change-ups in the sport. 'I think in F1, you can't buy time, and you need to give senior leadership the time to get on top of things. 'Look at us. I'm not enjoying being in a phase where it's the third year in a row that we are not fighting for a championship. We're not useless. We have really good weekends. We're winning races. It's respectable at times. 'And when it's not good, nobody's questioning in a way whether the top guy is doing a good job or not. Leave him the space. Let him do [things]. They need to just let them do [things].' Vasseur, 57, was previously at Sauber and Renault. Prior to that, he ran the ART junior team in Formula 2 from 2005-2017, and it was at the start of that stint that he first worked with Hamilton in GP2. 'Fred is one of the best racing managers that I know,' Wolff, who saw Hamilton leave Mercedes after 12 years for Vasseur's team in the off-season, added. 'If I wasn't here, I would take Fred. So, I respect him a lot. He's a great personality. He's a straightforward guy. He doesn't do politics and lies. He knows what he's talking about. 'He just needs to be given the trust to run this. He's perfectly aware that in Italy, it's like managing the football national team. You're going to have the scrutiny from the media. 'Maybe that's something you need to grow a little bit of a thick skin, because if he wins, he is Jesus Christ, and if you lose, you're a loser. That's how Italy is. That's fantastic. 'That's the passion that is in there. You've got to embrace that. Maybe that's something he needs to learn. But the rest, he should be given the confidence in running this team. They won't get anybody better.' Despite not winning a race, Ferrari are second in the constructors' championship, 12 points ahead of Mercedes in third, but a whopping 238 points off leaders McLaren. The next race is the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend at Spa-Francorchamps (25-27 July).
