Inaugurating programmes on the second day of the summit of Veerashaiva Panchacharyas and Shivacharyas in Davangere on Tuesday, Mr. Somanna said that if the State government did not err in the socio-educational and economic survey, the Panchacharyas of the community may not have shared a common platform and efforts to bring together the Guru and Virakta seers may not have begun. Karan Johar once asked Abhishek Bachchan if he was torn between Jaya Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, his reply was...
Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have consistently enchanted their fans with their timeless love story in Bollywood. Their connection, family interactions, and the keys to their robust relationship remain subjects of intrigue. A notable insight into their initial married life was shared during their guest appearance on Karan Johar's well-known talk show, 'Koffee With Karan.' What did Karan Johar ask Abhishek Bachchan? In a memorable episode of Koffee With Karan, host Karan Johar posed a playful yet probing question to Abhishek Bachchan: Did he ever feel caught between the three significant women in his life, his mother, his sister, and his wife? The inquiry, delivered with Johar's characteristic flair, elicited a moment of levity and introspection, to which Aishwarya, seated beside Abhishek, responded with a witty remark, highlighting the unique dynamics of familial relationships. The actress, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, replied in fast pace and said, 'Only time the wife would be called the other woman as you said it,' turning the conversation into a light-hearted exchange. Abhishek, acknowledging the strength and harmony among the women in his life, credited them for maintaining balance within the family. He noted that his mother and wife share a close bond, often discussing everything together, which has been instrumental in fostering a supportive household. Abhishek said, 'I think credit has to be given entirely to the girls. I have very little to do with it. What also works is that Maa and she (Aishwarya) are very close. They talk about everything. When a woman first comes to her husband's house, she feels a bit out of place, evidently and obviously. I think the only person who can truly fill that void is her mother-in-law.' Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Saturday formed a 15-member select committee of the House for wider consultations with stakeholders on an anti-sacrilege bill. The move came days after the Punjab Assembly unanimously decided to refer the Punjab Prevention of Offences Against Holy Scripture(s) Bill, 2025, proposing punishment up to life imprisonment for sacrilege acts against religious scriptures, to a select committee of the House. The panel will submit its report on the bill within six months. The 15-member panel will be headed by AAP MLA from Amritsar South and former minister Inderbir Singh Nijjar, according to a notification issued by the Punjab Vidhan Sabha secretariat on Saturday. The members of the committee are -- AAP MLAs Ajay Gupta, Amandeep Kaur Arora, Inderjit Kaur Mann, Jagdeep Kamboj, Neena Mittal, Baljinder Kaur, Budh Ram, Bram Shanker Jimpa, Madan Lal Bagga, and Mohammad Jamil Ur Rahman; BJP MLA Jangi Lal Mahajan, Congress legislators Tript Rajinder Singh Bajwa and Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal; and Shiromani Akali Dal legislator Manpreet Singh Ayali. Punjab Advocate General Maninderjit Singh Bedi will be the ex-officio member of the committee. The anti-sacrilege bill was introduced on July 14 in the House. The bill mandates strict punishment, extending up to life imprisonment, for the desecration of holy scriptures, including the Guru Granth Sahib, Bhagavad Gita, Bible and Quran. According to the bill, any person found guilty of sacrilege may face imprisonment ranging from 10 years to life. The guilty shall also be liable to pay a fine of Rs 5 lakh, which may extend up to Rs 10 lakh.
