Platinum And Palladium: The Next Bubble Minerals
palladium, a transition metal, used in the production of military aerospace equipment and in the ... More manufacture of catalysts, palladium stones, Metal used in industry. local focus I last wrote about platinum for Forbes on June 23rd. This was the chart: The palladium chart on June 23rd When I first wrote about it here on May 15th, platinum was around $1,000. It is now at $1,400. This is the current situation: The current palladium chart Certainly, a trend of appreciating precious metals is at work, but there is also the theme of 'strategic and critical metals' anxiety pushing platinum. On top of that, under the hood, is AI – not the AI under the hood of cars, but AI as a core driver of market moves. AI means that the internal combustion engine is not going away because the implied future demand for energy is now infinite. This is because the demand for AI is infinite, and AI depends heavily on silicon and pure energy consumption. As such, all forms of energy will be utilized, which is why, if you wondered, nuclear energy is no longer the scourge of humanity and back in favor like it was in the 1950s. As the world continues to burn carbon-based fuels alongside all the other energy-generating materials, you better have platinum to try to clean up the mess. You also better have palladium. The trouble is, only roughly 200 tonnes of each metal are mined every year. That is basically none. Even precious and rare gold has a production of 3,200 tonne a year. I focus on these numbers because they are so simple and stark. 200 tonnes is about what 100 American families consume by weight of stuff a year. It's a rounding error in the modern economic scheme of things. The price of platinum and palladium must rise. It is quite a tricky prospect to ride this near certainty, and as such I hold ETFs and Sibanye Stillwater (NYSE:SBSW). I'm not fan of pricey or difficult-to-hold stocks. This is why physical ETFs are my preferred instrument, and SBSW sneaks in as the only stock I can stomach. Meanwhile, the chartist in me sees palladium as the sweet spot. Here is why: Platinum and palladium charts compared In old market parlance, palladium is the fast horse. But like the market stall trader selling steak knives I have to say, 'That's not all, Mister, take a look at this!' Platinum, palladium and gold charts compared This chart tells a story of platinum and palladium following gold. You expect that, but what you see in 2016 was how gold and platinum used to be valued: they were 1:1. That parity is gone, but why wouldn't it return? Production is 3,200 tonnes for gold and 200 tonnes for platinum, and for a very long time, platinum was more expensive than gold – just as it is for Rolex owners today. From this chart, you can also see how their prices can explode, as palladium did in 2020–2022. The supply is tight because production is so small. In consequence, I am very much talking my own book because I am well vested in platinum and palladium. This technical setup looks spectacular, and the fundamentals are there to back it up. When I started writing about platinum and palladium, it was contrarian. Not anymore.

Baekhyun Shines At 1st US Concert: Review, Setlist of Reverie Tour
Baekhyun performs at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey for the 2025 BAEKHYUN WORLD TOUR ... More 'Reverie.' As part of Baekhyun's 'Reverie' World Tour, the K-pop superstar's first-ever U.S. solo concert at Newark's Prudential Center was a dreamy experience as the Tri-state area was locked in a record-breaking heat wave. But the arena's atmosphere inside quickly turned into one of anticipation over exhaustion the moment the lights dimmed. As the anthemic synths of his 2018 single 'YOUNG' burst through the speakers, Baekhyun stood center stage, headset mic in place, utilizing the opening up-tempo tracks like 'Ghost' and 2024 hit 'Pineapple Slice' to quickly establish his commitment to giving his all equally in choreography and vocals. Despite battling a stubborn cold since performing his Latin America tour dates just a day earlier, Baekhyun's June 23 show saw the star powering through every choreography-driven note and vocal run as though nothing were amiss. He swapped effortlessly between headset and handheld microphones, performing intensely choreographed pieces alongside more relaxed ones where he could showcase playful vocal runs. 'You guys waited so long for me, right?' he asked the crowd early in the show. 'To be honest, I was really worried going into this world tour, so thank you so much for so many of you guys being here today. For as much as you guys are giving up your time to be here with me tonight, I will give you a memory that you won't forget.' While Bakehyun has toured the States with his boy bands EXO and SuperM (including two past EXO concerts at Prudential Center), the 'Reverie' tour setlist leaned exclusively on Baekhyun's solo catalog, giving fans a chance to rediscover lesser-known b-sides alongside the chart-topping hits. One highlight came in 'Underwater,' where dark blue lighting bathed the stage as his background dancers mimicked ocean current swirls to spotlight the haunting R&B ballad from his 2020 Delight album. Later songs like 'Lemonade' unleashed his sunnier side, complete with buoyant choreography and lyrics dancing across the giant LED screens backing him, allowing the audience to better clap and sing along. Meanwhile, darker tracks like 'Cold Heart' and a special band arrangement of 'Psycho' revealed a more enigmatic facet of his performance style, as he and a masked backup dancer mirrored one another's movements to bring the intensity of the latter electro-pop track to life. Baekhyun beamed between songs, visibly savoring this milestone in a new corner of the world with his recently dyed blonde locks catching the stage lights to frame his many big, boyish smiles. While Baekhyun's chocolate-brown hair during the Essence of Reverie promotions lent him a mature air, the tour's platinum blonde hue underscored his playful spirit, one that shone with every wide-eyed glance and genuine laugh. BAEKHYUN performs live at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey as part of the 2025 BAEKHYUN ... More WORLD TOUR 'Reverie.' 'The last time I had a concert, I wasn't able to do a world tour,' Baekhyun later told the crowd, referencing last year's Lonsdaleite Tour that only visited Asia. 'I thought it was such a relief that this time I could do a world tour.' A world tour spanning North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia is one of the latest major moves Baekhyun has made in his solo career since the recent launch of his new label INB 100, which also houses his EXO band mates Chen and Xiumin. Before Newark's night of 'Reverie' ended, Baekhyun noted that, 'I think music unites us all.' That sentiment was wholly clear when the entire arena joined in a singalong for his 2020 single, 'Amusement Park,' as an LED screen displayed the lyrics in English and Korean before his encore began. 'Amusement Park' is a light, airy R&B-pop pre-release buzz track for Baekhyun's third mini album, Bambi, that was not heavily promoted in Korea but still had an entire arena singing along. Baekhyun was right: the music truly did unite everyone. Extreme weather and colds might not have been the ideal conditions for Baekhyun's first U.S. concert. Even still, Baekhyun only paused once near the show's end to cough and clear his throat. However, what rang true was his commitment to being the all-around professional superstar, hitting major new milestones in his career more than a decade after his debut. Check out the setlist for Baekhyun's 'Reverie' World Tour below. 2025 BAEKHYUN WORLD TOUR 'Reverie' in U.S. Setlist

M4TR Drop New Album Love Is The Revolution and a 10-Year Retrospective: 'If Love's the Last Thing Left, Let's Use It'
AJ Solaris isn't here to save the world — but he is going to soundtrack its collapse. His shape-shifting, genre-blurring music project M4TR (aka Music 4 The Revolution) is back with Love Is The Revolution, a shimmering, unflinching, synth-drenched third studio album landing June 23. Alongside it comes a 10-year retrospective and digital box set, charting M4TR's journey from protest anthems to emotionally layered, end-times dancefloor epics. And yeah — it absolutely slaps. The new record is M4TR's most ambitious yet. Across 12 tracks, Love Is The Revolution tears into the wild chaos of love — not just the dreamy kind, but the obsessive, communal, grieving, and even destructive kinds. Solaris isn't afraid to get messy with it. Think heartbreak on the dancefloor, tears in the glitter, neon-soaked breakdowns — a multiverse of romance and ruin. 'We're living in a time when everything feels like it could collapse at any moment,' Solaris says. 'But if love is the one thing that can pull us back from the brink, then what choice do we have but to keep reaching for it?' Before the full release drops, M4TR has already given us a taste with three singles: 'Hooks' – a glossy, Ibiza-glow electro groove with hooks to spare (no pun intended). 'Siren Song' – seductive and shadowy, this one slinks into trip-hop territory with a cold heartbeat. 'Life Without Her' – disco for the broken-hearted, and a total standout. Imagine Robyn slow-dancing with Peter Gabriel in a dream where everything is ending, but the beat won't stop. These aren't just tracks — they're emotional gut-punches you can move to. M4TR has long played with the sounds of the past to talk about the future. Solaris' retrofuturist palette pulls from the likes of Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Beck, Scissor Sisters, Coldplay, Talking Heads, and even flashes of Phil Collins. But the vibe is never purely nostalgic — it's always haunted by what's coming next. And now, with Love Is The Revolution, the message turns inward. Tracks like 'Kill The Self,' which confronts the loss of a childhood friend, signal a shift toward more personal, raw terrain. These songs have evolved into something deeper — more intimate, more dangerous. It's revolution through vulnerability — the kind that doesn't just make a statement, but makes you feel something real. To mark 10 years of M4TR, fans can also grab a massive digital box set on Bandcamp, collecting all three studio albums, EPs, live sets, and rare cuts for $60. It's a decade of rebellion and reinvention in one tight package. Whether you've been here since the early protest days or are just discovering the 'retrofuture,' now's the time to dive in. Over the last decade, M4TR has racked up 2M+ streams, landed on 4K+ playlists, and built a cult-like following across 153 countries. In the heart of D.C.'s live music scene, Solaris has brought their sound to some of the city's most iconic venues — including Jammin Java, DC Pie Shop, and Pearl Street Warehouse — performing with two different live bands and a rotating cast of talented collaborators. 'I've always been lucky to play alongside incredibly gifted musicians,' Solaris says. The second live band, featured on several tracks from the new album, includes Laura Cook, Mark Davenport, Rich Andrews, and Owen Williams — each adding their own distinct energy to Solaris' ever-evolving sound, driven by a relentless passion to create music that matters, even when the world feels like it's burning down. Love Is The Revolution lands June 23 on all major platforms. The 10-Year Box Set is out the same day on Bandcamp. So if you're ready to dance your heart out while the world teeters on the edge — M4TR's got the soundtrack queued up. Child ‘approached' by strange woman who ‘asked for their name' on walk to school as parents issued warning
A SCHOOL has issued a warning to parents after a child was approached by a strange woman who asked questions and made the youth feel "unsure." St Joseph's RC Primary School issued the warning on June 23 after they were made aware that a child who walks to school alone was approached by a strange woman. The child is said to have "felt unsure" after the approach which saw a woman begin to ask questions about their name and what school they attended. Terrified, the child reported it to the school immediately with staff issuing a warning to parents. The warning read: "The woman did not attempt to approach the school or cause harm, but understandably, the pupil felt uncomfortable. "We're sharing this so you can have a gentle reminder chat with your children about being safe when travelling to and from school - especially if they walk alone. "Please remind them to stay aware, walk with others where possible and always report anything that doesn't feel right to a trusted adult straight away." 1
