Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters: Meet Paralympian Ade Adepitan
ITV's newest entertainment format sees a group of celebrities submerged in shark infested waters. If you're wondering who would be crazy enough to sign up to a show like that, TV presenter and wheelchair basketball player, Ade Adepitan, is one such person. As someone who has made their bravery and resilience clear throughout their career, perhaps it's not such a surprise to see Paralympian Ade plunged into a shark cage on the show after all. And if it's made you question where you've seen him before then you've come to the right place. Here's everything you need to know about the presenter. Ade, whose full name is Adedoyin Olayiwola, is a TV presenter and wheelchair basketball player who has hosted travel documentaries and sports programmes for BBC and Channel 4 for more than 20 years. In 2004, Ade won a bronze medal at the Summer Paralympics playing wheelchair basketball. He is an advocate for promoting access to sport for disabled people and received an MBE for his services to disability sport in 2005. Ade got his start as an actor and appeared in Casualty and Desperados and Eastenders before moving into presenting in the early 2000s. He appeared on Channel 4's Unreported World during the 2010s and That Paramlympic Show in 2012 with Rick Edwards. Ade hosted Africa with Ade Adepitan in 2019 and Climate Change: Ade on the Frontline in 2021. Ade has also presented the Invictus Games, The One Show and World's Biggest Cities on the BBC. In 2025, Ade appeared on Shark! Celebrity Infested Waters alongside Lenny Henry, Amandaland star Lucy Punch, Helen George, Rachel Riley, Dougie Poynter and Ross Noble. In the show's attempt to showcase sharks in a new light, Ade takes on the physical challenges with twice the difficulty and vigour because of his disability, making him twice as impressive. Ade was born in Lagos in Nigeria where he contracted polio as an infant. This caused damage to his legs which required him to use a wheelchair. Yes, Ade has been married to singer Linda Harrison, who performs as Elle Exxe, since 2018. They have a son who was born in 2021. Nikki Peach is a writer at Grazia UK, working across entertainment, TV and news. She has also written for the i, i-D and the New Statesman Media Group and covers all things pop culture for Grazia (treating high and lowbrow with equal respect).

Bournemouth 11-year-old becomes world's youngest MBE for charity work
A GIRL from Bournemouth has won a world record after being the youngest person to receive an MBE from the King. Carmela Chillery-Watson, aged 11, has been recognised for her devotion to charity fundraising. At such a young age, Carmela has already helped to raise more than £400,000 for muscular dystrophy charities through a string of high-profile campaigns, from superhero walks to national awareness drives. Diagnosed with a rare form of muscular dystrophy herself, Carmela is no stranger to overcoming challenges and putting fun into fundraising. Carmela said: 'To hear the news that I was an MBE was absolutely astonishing, and to find out I'm the youngest MBE is another kettle of fish. The Guinness Book of World Records called me, so when I get the medal for the MBE I will be awarded the record.' Carmela's mum, Lucy, added: 'I was honestly flabbergasted. I opened the letter and thought, 'You're 11'. You expect MBEs to go to adults who've spent a lifetime doing incredible work. But I suppose Carmela has done a lifetime of work too, given everything she's had to fight through.' Carmela's most recent charity endeavour on June 23 stemmed from her wish to have more accessible toilet facilities at her school in Branksome. Dubbed the Poo Plod, she set out on a five-mile fundraising walk from her special needs school, Shaftesbury Victoria, to Bournemouth Pier and back — dressed as an inflatable toilet, while her mum followed dressed as a giant inflatable poo. Lucy said: 'Carmela wanted to fundraise for two wash-dry toilets for her school because it would give students more independence and dignity. It's not just about toilets , it's about making life easier for everyone.' Speaking after the event, Lucy joked: 'I was dressed up as a big inflatable poo… I think I was intimidating quite a few passers-by when I asked, 'Would you donate to a big poo?' But we raised nearly £4000." The school promised to match whatever Carmela raised, and as a result they collected enough money for two wash dry toilets in the school. Carmela will receive her MBE medal later this year.

Myleene Klass shares tribute to old school after devastating fire broke out
Former Hear'Say singer Myleene Klass paid tribute to her old primary school in Gorleston-on-Sea after a fire broke out and tore through the building Myleene Klass sent her love to her old school, where she now mentors, after a fire broke out. The former Hear'Say singer, 47, took to her Instagram Stories to share a picture of a billowing plume of smoke emerging from the buildings of Clifton Park Academy in Gorleston-on-Sea this week. She wrote in the caption: "This is my old state school that I now mentor at. To Cliff Park teachers and pupils, I'm glad you're all safe. I'm told the teachers did a phenomenal job of getting you out. I'm sorry your last day of term looked like this, I'm relieved you're all ok. Sending my love," before tagging the school. She also shared a screenshot of the news article about the fire, before adding: "Well done once again to my colleagues and teachers for getting the children out safely." Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service was called to the primary school at 13.16 to reports of a fire on Friday afternoon as they vowed to help the school make a full recovery. Paul Seaman, head of operations at Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service, said of the situation: "We will remain on scene and do whatever is required to support the school and the local community to a full recovery following this incident." After all children were safe and accounted for, the school released a statement on their social media page. They wrote on Facebook: "Following the fire at the academy earlier this afternoon, we can confirm that everyone is safe and that all children have now been collected. "Further information regarding the collection of belongings, including bikes and scooters, will be arranged at a later date. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding." It comes several days after Myleene received an MBE at Windsor Castle for her dedication to raising awareness and advocating for legal changes after experiencing several pregnancy losses. Speaking with PA news agency, the 47-year-old star said: "The King himself has now acknowledged that miscarriage care and healthcare needs to move forward. We're actually in a position where we can change the law, and women can benefit from it." Myleene, who has endured four miscarriages herself, has been at the forefront of demanding better support and policy amendments, becoming one of the nation's leading voices for change. She described the honour as recognition for 'the achievements of so many people that come together' to improve what she called a neglected area of women's health. "When I was going through my own miscarriages, you feel so invisible – you just feel you need somebody to guide you out of it," she said. "There's so much negativity about miscarriage healthcare – women feel so lost, so dragged down by it all."
