Meghan Markle and Prince Harry set for new 'goldmine' offer - but could face issue

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could be about to renew their Netflix deal despite reports as the pair are said to have a key supporter at the streaming giants Meghan Markle and Prince Harry could be about to make even more money next year, according to reports. However, despite their potential goldmine offer, it's thought it's not all good news for the Sussexes. ‌ Their deal with Netflix was reportedly set to come to an end after running out this year. It was said to be bagging the former Royals in the region of £75million. ‌ But after less than impressive viewing figures in return for both Meghan's With Love, Meghan series and Harry's documentary about polo, it was suggested the streaming giants were ready to go their separate ways. However, this is said to be far from the truth, with Netflix's boss Ted Sarandos still seemingly keen to work with the pair. ‌ According to Mail Online, Ted's support of Meghan can be the pair's "secret weapon". Reporter Alison Bishoff says: "There will be a third series of the Duchess's lifestyle show With Love, Meghan, if she wants to make one. And I hear she does." She claims the duo's link-up with the streamer could see them in line with the huge deal that Barack and Michelle Obama currently hold. And it's said future programmes from the former Suits star could show an inside look into the festive periods of the pair, with any announcement to follow the second series of With Love, Meghan. ‌ However, while their on-screen showings are seemingly set to continue, the publication claims their own large team at Archewell Production could see some in-house belt tightening. There had been talk of projects including a rom–com film based on the book Meet Me At The Lake and a retelling of Charles Dickens's Great Expectations being produced by the company. But this may no longer be the case. "Many believe they will just go on ice – forever – as the Sussex team has not yet come up with a script which appeals enough to Netflix bosses Ted Sarandos and Bela Bajaria to get the green light," the Mail says. ‌ With Love, Meghan disappointed with a lowly ranking of 383 in Netflix's most-watched titles between January and June 2025. The wholesome series pulled in just 5.3million viewers worldwide since it was first broadcast in March. It showed Meghan cooking, gardening and hosting A-list pals on-screen, but in an embarrassing exchange, repeats of the former actress's old TV drama, Suits, in which she starred before meeting Harry, placed higher. And it was reported earlier in the month that the streaming platform has decided not to renew the contract it holds with the Sussexes once it runs out in a few months time. They are believed to have signed a five-year deal worth around $100million in September 2020. However, despite the rumours, it remains uncertain as to the pair's partnership with the company.

Netflix Says Goodbye to Meghan and Harry's $100 Million Deal — Here's What's Next for the Royals

Netflix Says Goodbye to Meghan and Harry's $100 Million Deal — Here's What's Next for the Royals originally appeared on Parade. Netflix will not be extending its multi-year content partnership with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, ending one of the streaming giant's most high-profile and heavily scrutinized deals. The agreement, reportedly valued at $100 million, will expire in September 2025, according to multiple outlets. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex signed the deal in 2020 following their departure from official royal duties and relocation to California. Through their production company, Archewell Productions, the couple was granted creative freedom to develop programming focused on mental health, social justice, and lifestyle. Over the course of the five-year agreement, the couple released five projects — most notably Harry & Meghan, their 2022 docuseries, which remains Netflix's most-watched documentary debut and drove high subscriber interest upon release. Other titles include Live to Lead, the animated project Pearl (later canceled), the documentary Heart of Invictus, and Meghan's lifestyle series With Love, Meghan. According to Netflix's Engagement Report released on July 17 — which covers the first half of 2025 — With Love, Meghan, which debuted in March, ranked No. 383 with 5.3 million views thus far. Another recent release, Polo, executive produced by the couple, ranked No. 3,436 with 500,000 views. While With Love, Meghan reached the global Top 10 on the week of its debut and performed well in select markets, it did not maintain high engagement over time. Season two of the series, which has already been filmed, will still premiere on the platform this fall. 'There's no animosity from either side. Things have just run their course," a source told The Sun. 'Netflix were clever in that they got a hell of a lot of viewers for the first documentary series, and knew, realistically, it would prove the zenith of content from the Montecito pair. The content got weaker from there on but, frankly, for £20million a year, anything was better than nothing." That being said, the source continued: 'Netflix [feels] they've got all they can from the couple." A Hollywood insider confirmed to People that the non-renewal reflects a broader shift in Netflix's content strategy, which is moving away from large, multi-year talent deals in favor of more flexible, project-specific arrangements. This is in line with recent changes to other high-profile partnerships, such as with Barack and Michelle Obama's Higher Ground production company. Their initial multi-project deal has transitioned into a first-look agreement. Still, the end of the Sussexes' exclusive Netflix partnership doesn't necessarily mark the end of their relationship with the platform. According to Page Six, the couple is expected to sign a first-look deal with Netflix once the current agreement expires, which would allow the streamer to have early access to future pitches without being locked into exclusive content production. The Duke and Duchess have not commented publicly on the deal's conclusion as of Wednesday morning. Markle, however, continues to promote her As Ever lifestyle brand, which launched in parallel with With Love, Meghan. 'Would have known': The truth behind Prince Harry's mediation with King Charles as exiled royal reels from Netflix calling time on $153 million content deal

Netflix have grown increasingly unsatisfied with Meghan and Harry's performance on its network, and the dwindling number of viewers who tune in to their shows have had enough too. The company had originally made a USD$100 million (AUD$153 million) deal with the pair - but that was when the couple were spilling all about the entrails of their relationship with the Royal Family. When the couple ran out of new material their broadcasts began to flop. As a result Netflix is not renewing their contract when it expires in September. It's a massive shock that could significantly affect their lives. They were rarely apart when they were newlyweds, but will they still stay together? Meghan now sees herself as a businesswoman despite complaining in a recent podcast that she had to work so hard. Harry often travels. Recently he went to Angola to support the work of the HALO Trust that backed Princess Diana's famous walk through a minefield. Harry no doubt wanted to feel close to his mother, who died in 1997, while bolstering his image. Meghan likes to keep in the public's eye, readily using social media, despite she and Harry expressing concerns on the negative impacts. She often shows their two children Archie and Lilibet in her posts but won't show their faces. And followers are getting bored with them due to their rank hypocrisy. Her latest series, 'With Love, Megan', failed to reach Netflix's top 300 most-watched programs. Harry's situation was worse, with his Netflix polo sport feature rating 3,436th in Netflix's engagement report. Nonetheless, Meghan thinks highly of herself and believes she knows better than the experts around her who often don't stay very long. Even her produce is not always given enough attention. About a month ago she produced apricot spread for her 'As Ever' brand, showcasing jam as an important part of her business output. The Duchess of Sussex was blasted for supposedly picking fruit from a tree which showed some green looking apricots, raising questions on whether the fruit she was using were in season or not. Jam guru Donna Collins publicly criticised her and called the jam 'a real disappointment'. Then after you thought things couldn't get any worse, two of the biggest brand experts in the US lashed out at the Princess. Canadian lawyer Phillip Millar and California marketing executive Camille Moore, both stars of 'The Art of the Brand' podcast called Meghan a 'fraud'. They said the people behind the 'As Ever' brand are 'milking' her fame she gained after marrying Harry, and that she is 'suckering people into buying her stuff'. And that the concept of Meghan's lifestyle business was one of the worst they have ever seen. In mid July there was a meeting between Tobyn Andreae, the King and Queen's communications secretary, with Liam Maguire and Meredith Maines who work for Harry. The aides sat on a balcony but only for ten minutes, after Mr Maguire spotted a photographer. Was the snapper there by chance? And was part of the meeting done outside to see if it would leak? Harry would have known of Netflix's decision, therefore wanted his father to give him much needed money. The meeting was less likely a ploy to seek peace with his father. In a recent interview with the BBC he said he missed his country and then used part of the 30 minute-interview to accuse the royal household of influencing the Court of Appeals' decision to reduce his security detail. Money aside, Netflix's action is a major personal set back. Does Meghan feel she would be better off without unsuccessful Harry? It will be a second blow for Harry, who may feel like another 'Spare', similar to the title of his book. The couple moving back to London seems unlikely. Meghan knows she is not popular in the UK and so far sources have said that she won't come. Or bring the children. The King loves Harry like any father loves his child, but hugely disapproves of his behaviour, particularly his rudeness about his adored wife Camilla - calling her 'dangerous' and that she 'left bodies left in the street' on her ascent to royal stardom. Harry has written in his memoir that Camilla "sacrificed me on her personal PR altar". Angela Levin is an award-winning British journalist and royal biographer. Her biography Harry: Conversations with the Prince was published in 2018. Her work has been commended twice at the British Press Awards.

BOMBSHELL HINTS Meghan Markle keeps making veiled threats she has a secret royal bombshell… but her hints won't work, expert slams Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) MEGHAN Markle makes veiled threats hinting at a secret royal bombshell - but her plan won't work - an expert claimed. The Duchess of Sussex, 43, has alluded to the fact she has "receipts" that could back up her allegations against The Firm since quitting the UK in 2020. In particular, their appearance on Oprah sparked huge controversy after the couple claimed there had been conversations about Archie's skin colour. They also alleged Meghan's suffering mental health, during her time as part of the institution, had not been addressed. But royal expert Jack Royston sat down with The Sun's Royal Editor Matt Wilkinson and argued it wouldn't matter if the Sussexes did plan on dropping any more bombshells. He told The Royal Exclusive show: "The problem is with the way Harry and Meghan piled in quite relentlessly on the royals. "Particularly, I do think the Oprah interview, they did botch it... it could have been done differently and better in a way that would be less toxic and destructive. "The racism allegation, they have clearly tried to change it retrospectively or row it back. "So, obviously, Meghan botched how she described that story. "But there's always been this thing that Meghan's kind of intimated that she's got receipt, that was in the days after Oprah, one of her friends went on ITV and said, 'we've got the receipts to prove everything'. "There was also a point where she was giving an interview and she said 'I've never signed anything, so I can say whatever I want'. Harry's 'peace talks' have scheming Meghan's hand all over them, he looks lost in his sad little life "So, she's always had this tendency to give these kind of slightly veiled threats that she's sitting on this bombshell. "There was one point I think they suggested they'd found their diaries that they kept during these periods. "They've always been floating these ideas that they're sitting on a kind of a massive nuclear warhead that they can drop at any point." 'DESTROYED THEMSELVES' However, Mr Royston claimed the Sussexes have become "villains" in the UK - and aren't particularly popular in the US now either. He believed their lack of fan support would see any further allegations dismissed relatively rapidly. The expert added how he did not think any of the royals would be "scared" of any more digs. "Ultimately, they destroyed themselves by the way they basically relentlessly attacked Harry's own family in a context where no-one was fighting back," he continued. "And so, they may well still be sitting on unused material that Harry says he'll never share. "But it doesn't matter anymore because even if they did, they're so uniformly viewed as the villains, particularly in Britain, but even in America, they're not viewed in this protective way anymore. "So, even if they are sitting on some unexploded bombs, I don't actually think that the royals need to be too scared of it." Prince Harry and Meghan's £100million deal with Netflix SCRAPPED in 'huge loss of revenue' for couple By Clemmie Moodie, Assistant Editor, The Sun PRINCE Harry and wife Meghan's £100million deal with Netflix has been scrapped. The streamer will not renew their contract when it expires in September. The Sussexes and Netflix have mutually decided not to make an official announcement. But streaming execs have quietly agreed to part ways. It comes after Harry's vanity project, Polo, about the sport, was watched by just 500,000 people. It was also understood that bosses were mildly infuriated by Meghan making her As Ever brand a priority. A source said: 'The deal is done; no more shows will be made. 'Netflix feel they've got all they can from the couple. 'Netflix were clever in that they got a hell of a lot of viewers for the first documentary series, and knew, realistically, it would prove the zenith of content from the Montecito pair. 'They're not unhappy with how things turned out — they got those initial hits, and produced one of the most talked-about shows of all time. 'The content got weaker from there on but, frankly, for £20million a year, anything was better than nothing. 'There's no animosity from either side. 'Things have just run their course. 'Netflix execs are well aware Meghan's priority now is her own brand, and they won't play second fiddle to that. 'Publicly, there will not be a statement and of course, if things change dramatically, they'd be open to a one-off project down the line. 'But for Harry, especially, this will be a blow. 'It's a huge loss of revenue.' Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos is believed to remain on good terms with Meghan. The source said streamer Paramount+ was thought to be keen to work with the couple, who would be open to it if the right project came along. This comes after a secret peace summit was held between Prince Harry and King Charles' aides, which sparked hope for royal fans hoped their icy relationship would thaw. But it appears there will be no reconciliation between the father and son. Speaking on The Sun's Royal Exclusive show, royal expert Robert Jobson said Prince Harry will have to make people forget that he sold out his family if he wants a comeback. Meanwhile, The Sun's Royal show asked viewers if they wanted to see the two reconcile, and a staggering 73% said no. Robert said: "I think it's too late. Too much has gone under the bridge, in my opinion. Too much water." Sky News royal editor Rhiannon Mills agreed, saying Harry had thrown his family "under the bus". She added: "The biggest issue for Harry and Meghan, is that an awful lot has been said. "The whole family kind of went under the bus, really, in the documentaries and in Spare. And there are lots of things that they cannot erase in terms of what's been said." Inside Prince William and Prince Harry's 'feud' TENSIONS have been running high in the royal family since Prince Harry stepped down from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California with Meghan Markle. Their last reported interaction was during the funeral of their grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, but conversations were said to be brief. The feuding brothers reportedly did not speak to each other despite standing 'virtually back to back' among mourners at their uncle's memorial service last year. Growing up, Wills and Harry shared many of the same friends who were part of their close, tight-knit circle. But their relationship took a sour turn after Harry lobbed vile allegations against the Prince of Wales in his memoir Spare - and they are said to have not been in direct contact since the 2023 release. In the book, he claimed William had physically attacked him and knocked him to the floor in 2019 and made insulting comments about Meghan. The Sussexes had also targeted Princess Kate, when Meghan claimed the royal made her cry. The bitter feud was ignited when the Sussexes told Oprah, in their 2021 sit down interview, that certain members of the Royal Family had speculated about Prince Archie's skin colour. It was later claimed the royals were Princess Kate and King Charles, after Harry and Meghan's former pal Omid Scobie published his hatchet-job book Endgame. During the infamous Oprah interview, the duchess also made stinging comments about the Firm and how they handled her mental health struggles. Prince William and Harry's bond then worsened after the Sussexes made a number of accusations against the Royal Family in their 2022 Netflix docuseries. The duke has given subsequent interviews, such as his most BBC chat in May 2025, that have only propelled bad blood. Robert also revealed that the Duke of Sussex's recent trip to Angola, where Princess Diana went, also did nothing to sway the public on letting him back into the royal family. Prince Harry recently followed in his mum's footsteps walking through minefields in Angola and speaking to the charity Halo, who help clear them, something he also did in 2019. The royal expert said: "But the reality was that was a big deal then. "It wasn't a big deal this time around. So he's not got the same draw that he had. He must know that. When you've trashed your family and monetised it." Earlier this month, Meredith Maines, Meghan and Harry's chief of staff in California, and Liam Maguire, the head of their UK PR operation, met Charles's communication secretary Tobyn Andreae at the Royal Over-Seas League which sits just three minutes from Clarence House. The secret peace summit sparked rumours a reconciliation is in the works, but Prince William's team was notably absent. The Duke revealed in his bombshell BBC interview "life is precious" and "I would like to get my father and brother back". He reportedly hasn't seen Charles in years with his last direct communication with brother William coming in 2022.
