Drake angers fans after cancelling Manchester gig last minute
Drake has left fans in Manchester fuming after cancelling his show at the city's Co-Op Live. The Hotline Bling hitmaker, 38, was set to play his third show at the venue tomorrow as part of his $OME $PECIAL $HOWS 4 U tour. However, the Canadian rapper will no longer perform the gig due to 'unforeseen ferry schedule and travel logistics' per a statement shared by the venue. The message, shared on the Co-Op Live website, reads: 'Due to unforeseen ferry schedules and travel logistics, tomorrow's performance in Manchester on July 28 has been rescheduled,' reports the Manchester Evening News. 'The good news is that Drake will now perform in Manchester on Tuesday, August 5, and it's set to be an unforgettable night. All tickets remain valid for the new date – we can't wait to see you there!' Per the Ticketmaster website, those who cannot make the rescheduled date will be able to get their ticket refunded in full, which can be requested via their Ticketmaster account. Following his Manchester dates, the One Dance hitmaker will head over to Amsterdam for a string of shows at the Ziggo Dome. Fans have been quick to air their frustration over the cancellation online, with X user JoshDL796 asking if the whole thing was 'a joke.' CharlieeB_x asked: 'How is Drake using 'logistics' as an excuse to reschedule tomorrow nights show in Manchester when he's already here?' Josh Lax said they would 'never listen to him again' while Georgina Kritik dubbed the artist 'lame' for using travel issues as an excuse. 'Extended my unpaid leave in Dubai to stay in Manchester so I could see Drake on 28th July just for him to cancel last minute and say he's got travel problems my brother you are in the city wtfym!' Hassan said. The tour kicked off in Birmingham following Drake's performance at Wireless Festival. It comes as the musician's feud with Kendrick Lamar rumbles on, announcing legal action against the latter earlier this year. It has been reported that Drake, real name Aubrey Drake Graham, is suing UMG for spreading the a 'false and malicious narrative'. Stephen Curry is opening up about the viral moment he had when he shared his true feelings about Kendrick Lamar's diss track "Not Like Us." In a conversation with Complex's 360 with Speedy, the Golden State Warriors star spoke about his relationship with Drake and expanded on his viral moment at the 2024 Paris Olympics when he was frustrated with "Not Like Us" playing. "We go way back, though, and it's actually kind of a family thing, too," Curry shared about how his friendship with Drake began. The four-time NBA champion shared that through his wife, Ayesha Curry, who hails from Toronto like Drake, has a cousin who is from the city as well. It's unclear the nature of Ayesha's cousin's relationship with Drake, but there is some kind of familial connection as Steph has continued to cultivate a relationship with the rapper throughout the years. In addition to sharing how he has a relationship with Drake, Curry explained what he felt in the moment when he got annoyed at "Not Like Us" playing. "Everywhere we went, it's all I heard, and the fact that they know who I was with," Curry added. "...But I was like, I got sick of it at a certain point. And it was funny, the cameras caught me because that was from the soul." Despite Curry's feelings about the overload of plays "Not Like Us" got last summer, the song has been cemented into rap and Grammy history as the first diss track to win multiple golden gramophones. LeBron James is living it up in Cannes amid speculation about his Lakers future. The NBA's all-time leading scorer was spotted partying in the South of France this week with his wife, Savannah James, and his business partner, Maverick Carter. A video of the couple dancing and singing along to Kendrick Lamar's Drake diss track, 'Not Like Us,' while wining and dining at an oceanfront restaurant made the rounds online Tuesday. At one point, Savannah was seen sipping a glass of white wine and dancing with her portable fan in the other hand. The video also included Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, who was seen filming his wife, Lauren Sanchez, dancing to the song at a table nearby. The couple tied the knot in a star-studded affair last month in Venice. James clearly took advice from his agent, Rich Paul, who said he told the four-time NBA champ to 'enjoy his summer' amid constant attention about his playing future. James, who will turn 41 in December, is rumored to want out of the Lakers after Paul released a statement regarding the 21-time All-Star accepting his $52.6 million player option. 'LeBron wants to compete for a championship,' Paul told ESPN last month. 'He knows the Lakers are building for the future. He understands that, but he values a realistic chance of winning it all. We are very appreciative of the partnership that we've had for eight years with Jeanie [Buss] and Rob [Pelinka] and consider the Lakers as a critical part of his career. 'We understand the difficulty in winning now while preparing for the future. We do want to evaluate what's best for LeBron at this stage in his life and career. He wants to make every season he has left count, and the Lakers understand that, are supportive and want what's best for him.' James, who is entering his 23rd season, has a no-trade clause in his contract. Despite speculation that James might reunite with Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis in Dallas, NBA insider Rachel Nichols reported last week that the 'Mavericks do not want LeBron James' and 'have messaged that out through multiple reporters.' Nichols added that she 'thinks that door is closed.'
