The Rs 15,000 discount coupon can be used on Samsung's official online store or the Samsung Shop app to purchase the Galaxy Watch 8. After applying the discount, the watch will cost between Rs 17,999 and Rs 24,999, depending on the variant. The Galaxy Watch 8, launched recently, comes with several upgrades and is already being called one of the best Wear OS smartwatches in its category.

Samsung Urges Galaxy Users to Update Anti-Theft Tools
Samsung is urging (literally) Samsung phone users across the UK to enable and update the latest anti-theft tools now available on Galaxy devices as part of a new public safety campaign. This week, over 40 million Samsung Account holders in the UK will get a public safety security message through Samsung's customer communication channels and the Samsung Members platform. Samsung has started to bring One UI 7 with security updates to quite a few Galaxy devices, and with this, they have added new theft-protection and security delay anti-robbery tools. These updates began with the Galaxy S25 series in February and are now reaching more Galaxy smartphones, including the S24, S23, S22 series, and Galaxy Z Fold and Flip models. The company is said to be working closely with the Home Office and industry partners to help address mobile phone theft and improve user safety. The One UI 7 update builds on existing protections with new anti-theft tools such as identity check, biometric authentication, and security delay. The new Theft Protection suite is made to keep personal data safe even in probable theft situations. It includes Theft Detection Lock, which uses machine learning to spot theft-like motions and instantly lock the screen, and Offline Device Lock, which locks the screen if the device is offline for a long time. Remote Lock lets users secure a stolen device using their phone number and a quick verification step. Anti-robbery additions in One UI 7 include Identity Check, which requires biometric authentication for sensitive changes in unfamiliar locations, and Security Delay, which triggers a one-hour pause before biometric data can be reset, giving users time to lock a stolen device from another device. Samsung says these tools are now available on several flagship devices, with additional updates planned.

It sucks to have your phone stolen, but anything you can do to make it even less valuable to thieves is a good thing. Not just for the safety of your own data, but also because it means the thief is going to have a much harder time profiting from your misfortune. Which offers a bittersweet satisfaction. Features on offer include Theft Detection Lock, which locks your phone if it detects motion associated with snatching. Offline Device Lock will also lock down your phone if it's disconnected from a data connection (or Wi-Fi) for an extended period. There's also the classic Remote Lock that lets you initiate a lockdown process using your phone number and a single verification step.
