Call of Duty Black Ops 7 leaks suggest a new team-based game mode might be coming
(Image via Activision) A fresh leak has just dropped, and it's got the entire Call of Duty fandom buzzing. Black Ops 7, the next entry in the franchise, might be packing a wild new multiplayer experience, and we're talking big battles, chaotic objectives, and some wingsuit action. The mode is reportedly called Skirmish , and if the leaks are legit, it could seriously shake up the BO7 meta. A New 20v20 Game Mode Called Skirmish is Coming to the Game According to the leaked loading screens, Skirmish is a 20v20 team-based mode set on a massive map. Unlike your typical kill-or-be-killed multiplayer vibes, this one's all about objectives. Think: Destroying payloads Capturing points of interest Transmitting high-value data Each team has to work together to complete missions and reach the score limit before the other side does. Oh—and did we mention wingsuits are involved? Yep. It's giving Warzone mobility with old-school multiplayer chaos. Skirmish looks like it's built for flanking, fast drops, and full-send strategies. Where Did This Leak Even Come From? The source? None other than Activision itself—sort of. On June 26, the Call of Duty HQ app for Xbox apparently glitched out and showed off a few internal playtest assets. Cue screenshots flying all over socials, and suddenly, the internet's deep-diving into what Black Ops 7 is cooking. No official takedowns yet. No comments from Activision either. Suspicious silence? Definitely. But that's what's making the community believe the leak holds water. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 | Official Teaser When's It Dropping? No official release date has been announced for Black Ops 7 yet, but if history's any clue, we're looking at an October 2025 window. Activision dropped the first teaser during the Xbox Games Showcase, and more reveals are expected before August hits. As for Skirmish , it showed up in what's described as an upcoming Closed Internal Playtest. That means it's still being worked on behind closed doors. Whether it ships as-is, evolves into something else, or gets scrapped entirely, we don't know for sure. Leaked or not, Skirmish is turning heads. If Activision plays its cards right, Black Ops 7 might just reinvent the multiplayer meta. 40-player chaos, wingsuit drops, objective layers—it's giving Modern Warfare vibes with a Black Ops twist. Let's just hope this one makes it past playtesting and into our hands. Because honestly? This is the kind of innovation CoD fans have been waiting for. Call of Duty current server status for June 25, 2025
Image via Activision. Is Call of Duty down right now? Let's explore the current server status for all the present games in the market. This franchise has become a staple in the world of video games, and as a result, a huge number of players still play this game regularly - be it Warzone, Black Ops 6, or Modern Warfare 3. Right now BO6 and Warzone are going through Season 4 and fans are eagerly waiting for the mid season refresh - Season 4 Reloaded. Amidst all the anticipation, the franchise has recently been hit by a massive server outage. Call of Duty experienced massive server breakdown It has been reported by many Call of Duty players that today many titles of this franchise like Black Ops 6, Warzone, Modern Warfare 3, Modern Warfare 2, and many more have been hit by a severe server outage. This outage was so drastic that it made the servers of the game go offline for close to half an hour. This was a big hit on Call of Duty HQ after Activision's decision to merge all the modern COD titles in this single app. This decision has now been slammed by the fans, as this massive outage affected all the games which are now under the same roof. Although Activision was quick to find a resolution of this situation and brought back the servers online, but it was pretty concerning keeping in mind the number of titles affected all together. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Adidas Three Shorts With 60% Discount, Limited Stock Available Original Adidas Shop Now Undo Call of Duty has previously faced a number of downtimes, like the one in April 3 in Warzone. That was actually a planned downtime in order to bring back Verdansk in the game. However, the recent 30-minute server outage wasn't in the plans and the Season 4 Reloaded update is still some days far away. That is why this recent issue raises many questions, especially security concerns behind the reason for this outage, like a DDoS attack or data leak. Another fact that makes the whole situation more cryptic is that Black Ops 4 was also reportedly affected with this server outage. Now, this title is not a part of the Call of Duty HQ app. So, fans are fearing that this server crash is not because of the heavy load on the app, there might be any other reason. As of now, all the Call of Duty games are running fine now, but as long as Activision holds the reason behind this server outage, concerns will continue to pile up. ‘Beavis & Butt-Head' Are Coming To ‘Call Of Duty'
Call Of Duty Get ready for the most annoying voice-lines in Call Of Duty history. Mike Judge's infamous duo, Beavis & Butt-Head, are headed to the first-person shooter. Soon, matches of Black Ops 6 and Warzone will be overrun with the foul-mouthed pair. Now, when you're gunned down in the final circle, don't be surprised if the words 'I am cornholio!' ring in your ears. I am of two minds about this latest collaboration. On the one hand, I think all of these crossovers are kind of fun and funny and sometimes just very bizarre (Seth Rogen is an odd choice; Ninja Turtles and Squid Game, less so). On the other hand, I'm firmly in the camp that believes a military shooter benefits in a big way from a grittier, more realistic aesthetic. The solution to this, of course, is to have a toggle that players can switch on and off allowing you to turn all these garrish crossover skins into default mil-sim operators on your end. We already have the ability to turn off all the bright, loud 'dismemberment effects' (and I highly recommend you do so) and this would be just another level of player choice. Players who enjoy watching Beavis go toe-to-toe with the Transformers could have that still. Players who want only military-adjacent looking operators could have that. The balance might be tricky. Activision would either have to designate which skins and operators fit in which category or simply have an option that turned off all non-default skins and made all bonus operators look like a generic operator. But I think it's still a very viable option. Beavis & Butt-Head are a good example of why this is important to players. For those of us who want some kind of approximation of a military combat, outlandish skins are immersion-breaking. But characters like this take it a step further. Some people love Beavis & Butt-Head but I find them insufferable, though I can't pin the blame on the cartoon necessarily. All I can think about are the two kids in my junior high who only talked in Beavis & Butt-Head voices. Obnoxious is not a strong enough word. It used to be that the most we had to deal with was the release of the new Snoop Dogg skin each year, when suddenly every match was dominated by the famous rapper. I can live with that. Can I live with hearing 'TP for your bunghole' every time some 15-year-old sweat pwns me in a match? Is a new version of Rebirth Island coming to Call of Duty Warzone in Season 4 Reloaded?
Image via Activision. There have been some rumors that a cel-shaded version of Rebirth Island might be coming to Call of Duty Warzone. Needless to say, Rebirth Island is one of the most popular maps in Warzone, and if fans get a new version of this map, there will be no boundaries to their excitement. Call of Duty Black Ops 6 and Warzone is going through almost the middle phase of the current season, when fans are eagerly waiting for the mid-season refresh, aka the Season 4 Reloaded update. So, fans can surely hope for a unique version of an iconic map in the coming update. Call of Duty teases cel-shaded version of Rebirth Island in Warzone As of now, there has been no confirmed release date announced for Season 4 Reloaded. But according to the previous mid-season refresh trends and the Season 4 Battle Pass countdown, we might see Season 4 Reloaded being dropped on the game on June 26, 2025. Amidst this anticipation, Activision is gradually revealing the upcoming contents in the game. For example, Beavis and Butt-Head, the iconic cartoon character duo created by Mike Judge, is coming to the game as a part of Season 4 Reloaded. Now, this is where it all began. The announcement post on Twitter by the official Call of Duty account caught the eyes of many fans. According to them, the announcement post featured Beavis and Butt-Head in Warzone setting that too in a cel–shaded version of Rebirth Island. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like One of the Most Successful Investors of All Time, Warren Buffett, Recommends: 5 Books for Turning... Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Click Here Undo A fan even went on to compare the uncanny similarities between the promotional image in the announcement post and the real Rebirth Island map. However, these are all rumors and speculations as Activision is yet to officially confirm any new version of the iconic map. Also, the developers didn't go in detail while announcing the Beavis and Butt-Head collaboration. So, everything before some concrete details should be taken with a grain of salt. However, Call of Duty did feature a handful of cel-shaded maps, like Yard in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone as part of the Season 5 update. So, all these speculations aren't absolutely baseless. Also, a cell-shaded version of Rebirth Island would be a perfect setting for the upcoming cel-shaded Operators, Beavis and Butt-Head.
