The Hindua day ago

Hindupur MP B.K. Parthasarathi on Friday called on the officials and public representatives to work in coordination, 'which is essential in ensuring effective implementation of Central government welfare schemes across Sri Sathya Sai district'.
The MP, who is the chairperson of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA), was chairing the panel meeting at the Collectorate here, along with District Collector T.S. Chetan.
Key discussions focused on agriculture, pensions, housing, MGNREGS, fisheries, and national highways. The MP stressed on resolving issues caused by flaws in previous land surveys, which had excluded some eligible beneficiaries.
He highlighted the success of the 'Thalliki Vandhanam' scheme and asked officials to ensure that the benefits reached all eligible mothers.
He stressed on the need for prompt disbursement of benefits under PM-Kisan and Annadata Sukhibhava schemes, clearance of insurance claims under PMSBY, and swift redressal of public grievances.
Mr. Parthasarathi asked the officials to focus on the long-pending issues in the fisheries sector. The MP further reviewed the ongoing works related to the national highways in the district.
He informed the officials to speed up the identification process for the removal of ineligible recipients of welfare schemes, while adding that the initiatives should reach genuine beneficiaries above caste or political affiliations. He further suggested setting up village-level grievance redressal cells for new ration cards.

This 'F' word is pushing India backword, can't defeat China due to..., why is 6400000000000 scaring India

This 'F' word is pushing India backword, can't defeat China due to…, why is 6400000000000 scaring India Indian states are going to increase their spending on social welfare schemes. It is estimated that these states will spend about 2 percent of their Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP), or Rs 6.4 lakh crore in 2025, much more than the previous year's spending. Several states have introduced schemes such as monthly income for women and free travel in government-run buses. These welfare schemes have increased the expenses of the states. This has raised concerns as this level of spending is expected to impact India in many ways. Will India Be Able to Beat China Economically? Notably, to beat China economically, India will have to take visionary steps beyond just spending on social welfare. According to a report by rating agency Crisil, spending huge amounts on welfare schemes has reduced states' ability to spend on infrastructure development and other development works. Crisil analysed the budget of 18 major states which account for nearly 90precent of the total GSDP. The central government, on the other hand, also spends huge amount on several welfare schemes such as Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGA), Jal Jeevan Mission, PM Kisan, PM Awas Yojana and PM Poshan. The central government has allocated Rs 86,000 crore for MNREGA that too only for this year. What Kind Of Warning Is This? Crisil has warned that increased state spending on welfare programs, particularly those targeting women, children, and marginalised groups, will widen their revenue deficits. This surge in spending, consistent with previous years at 1.4 to1.6 percent of GSDP between FY19 and FY24 will likely curtail states capacity for capital investment. The rise in expenditure is attributed to pre-election initiatives, including income support schemes and free public transportation for women. What Is Needed To Defeat China? To overtake China economically, India has to take concrete and far-sighted steps rather just spending on social welfare schemes. Focus on productive investments India should focus on creation of world-class infrastructure like roads, railways, ports, power, digital connectivity. These developments will reduce logistics costs and boosts industries. Investments in education, healthcare, and skills development is also needed to create a skilled and healthy workforce. India has to work on increasing public and private investment in research and development. This will promote innovation. Notably, China has invested big in this. Development of the manufacturing sector China's robust manufacturing sector significantly contributes to its economic growth. India's economic progress requires bolstering initiatives like 'Make in India' by streamlining manufacturing establishment, offering tax benefits, and enhancing global supply chain integration. Emphasis on exports China has an export-oriented economy. India also needs to expand its export base in high value-added goods and services. Policy stability A stable policy environment is essential to attract investors. Improving the ease of doing business will automatically reduce red tape. Financial discipline Both the states and the Centre must keep the fiscal deficit under control. This will reduce debt and increase revenue.

Shivraj slams forest officials, backs tribals in land dispute

Bhopal: Union agriculture minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Saturday lashed out at forest department officials during a public meeting at the Sehore Collectorate, accusing them of harassing tribal communities and tarnishing the govt's image. His remarks came amid protests by tribal villagers opposing the proposed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sanctuary in the district. A large number of tribals gathered at the Collectorate to submit a memorandum demanding cancellation of the sanctuary project. The protestors, hailing from nearly 200 villages, claimed that over 2 lakh tribal residents who have been cultivating forest land for decades are now being targeted and labelled as illegal encroachers. Chouhan, who is also the MP from Vidisha and a senior BJP leader in Madhya Pradesh, assured the community of his full support. "Mama is with you," he told the gathering. "I warn the forest department — do not make the mistake of harassing these people. This will not be tolerated under any circumstances." The tribals allege that despite living and farming on forest land for 25 to 30 years, many have not been issued land rights under the Forest Rights Act, 2006. They claim that several applications submitted through the Van Mitra Portal have not been resolved, leaving them vulnerable to eviction. Chouhan assured the villagers that he would take up the matter directly with CM Mohan Yadav.

‘India Introduced Non-Violence To World But…': PM Modi's Veiled Dig At Pakistan

Last Updated: PM Modi reminded that India was preaching non-violence at a time when the world used violence to quell violence. Making a veiled reference to Pakistan without naming the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that India introduced the world to non-violence, but it would not allow anyone to meddle in the peace. He said that India advocated 'ahimsa" at a time when the world used violence to quell violence for thousands of years. His remarks came while addressing the centenary celebrations of Jain spiritual leader Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj in the national capital. 'Jo humein chhedega (those who tease us)…" PM Modi said, leaving the sentence incomplete and drawing massive cheers from the audience. However, he did not dwell any further on the issue. 'Even if you did not say it in words, you were perhaps conveying your blessings for Operation Sindoor," he said, referring to the preceding speech of a Jain seer. Speaking at the Centenary Celebrations of Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj. — Narendra Modi (@narendramodi) June 28, 2025 On May 7, India had launched Operation Sindoor to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians on April 22. In its precision strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, India killed over 100 terrorists. PM Modi emphasised that India is a nation where service and humanity lie at the heart of its values. 'At a time when violence was being countered with more violence for centuries, India introduced the world to the strength of ahimsa (non-violence)," he said. 'India is the world's oldest living civilisation. We have endured for thousands of years because our ideas are timeless, our thinking is timeless, and our philosophy is timeless," he added. The Prime Minister said that the foundation of India's timeless philosophy lies in the teachings of its saints, seers, mahants, and acharyas. He was referring to Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj, the spiritual leader credited with reviving and restoring ancient Jain temples across the country and promoting education, particularly in Prakrit, Jain philosophy, and classical languages. PM Modi also noted that the acharya's ideals have influenced the government's welfare programmes. 'Schemes like PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and others reflect a spirit of service towards the most disadvantaged sections of society," he said.
