‘India Introduced Non-Violence To World But…': PM Modi's Veiled Dig At Pakistan
Last Updated:
PM Modi reminded that India was preaching non-violence at a time when the world used violence to quell violence.
Making a veiled reference to Pakistan without naming the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday said that India introduced the world to non-violence, but it would not allow anyone to meddle in the peace.
He said that India advocated 'ahimsa" at a time when the world used violence to quell violence for thousands of years.
His remarks came while addressing the centenary celebrations of Jain spiritual leader Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj in the national capital.
'Jo humein chhedega (those who tease us)…" PM Modi said, leaving the sentence incomplete and drawing massive cheers from the audience. However, he did not dwell any further on the issue.
'Even if you did not say it in words, you were perhaps conveying your blessings for Operation Sindoor," he said, referring to the preceding speech of a Jain seer.

On May 7, India had launched Operation Sindoor to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 civilians on April 22. In its precision strikes in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, India killed over 100 terrorists.
PM Modi emphasised that India is a nation where service and humanity lie at the heart of its values. 'At a time when violence was being countered with more violence for centuries, India introduced the world to the strength of ahimsa (non-violence)," he said.
'India is the world's oldest living civilisation. We have endured for thousands of years because our ideas are timeless, our thinking is timeless, and our philosophy is timeless," he added.
The Prime Minister said that the foundation of India's timeless philosophy lies in the teachings of its saints, seers, mahants, and acharyas. He was referring to Acharya Vidyanand Ji Maharaj, the spiritual leader credited with reviving and restoring ancient Jain temples across the country and promoting education, particularly in Prakrit, Jain philosophy, and classical languages.
PM Modi also noted that the acharya's ideals have influenced the government's welfare programmes. 'Schemes like PM Awas Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, and others reflect a spirit of service towards the most disadvantaged sections of society," he said.

Pakistan Army Chief Backs Terror Under Guise of ‘Legitimate Struggle', Rakes Up Kashmir Again
Last Updated: Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir blamed India for escalating tensions in the region and claimed that Islamabad was a "net regional stabiliser". Pakistan's Army Chief Asim Munir once again threatened India and took a hardline stance on Kashmir, blaming New Delhi – without any evidence – for the recent tensions in the region in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Notably, India and Pakistan exchanged cross-border hostilities for four days after India launched Operation Sindoor against terror camps in the neighbouring country. India struck several air bases and dealt a crushing blow to Pakistan Army's capabilities, while also effectively repelling missile and drone attacks. Despite this, Munir claimed India had twice undertaken acts of unprovoked aggression, marked by a 'troubling absence of strategic foresight", and vowed a decisive response to any future Indian aggression. Speaking at the Pakistan Naval Academy in Karachi on Saturday, Munir claimed Pakistan gave a 'resolute response" to India, despite reaching out to New Delhi after sustaining heavy losses during Operation Sindoor. Munir appeared to endorse acts of terrorism under the pretext of what he described as a 'legitimate struggle". 'Pakistan, despite grave provocations, acted with restraint and maturity, and demonstrated its commitment to regional peace and stability, which has led to Pakistan's role as a net regional stabiliser," he said. Munir also assured that Pakistan would respond with a swift and befitting response to any future aggression. Munir also raked up the Kashmir issue, saying, 'Pakistan is a strong advocate for a just resolution of the Kashmir issue in accordance with United Nations resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people." He also called for a 'just and peaceful resolution" to the Kashmir issue for lasting peace in the region. Days before the Pahalgam terror attack, Munir had reignited the issue by claiming that Kashmir was Pakistan's 'jugular vein". Over 100 terrorists, including top commanders like JeM leader Abdul Rauf Azhar and family members of Masood Azhar, were killed in India's Operation Sindoor. The conflict lasted till May 10 afternoon when the Pakistan side requested a ceasefire in view of the heavy losses suffered by it in the attacks by the Indian Air Force. First Published:

Trump Implicitly THREATENS Israel With $3.8 BN Military Aid SUSPENSION Over Netanyahu Trial
Rajnath Singh Refuses To Sign SCO Draft Statement- What is Its Significance for India? In a landmark visit to China—the first by an Indian Defence Minister since the deadly 2020 Galwan clash—Rajnath Singh made headlines by standing firm on one issue: Terrorism cannot be ignored. At the SCO Defence Ministers' meeting in Qingdao, Singh slammed "state-sponsored terrorism," referencing the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, where 26 Indian civilians were killed. When the SCO draft statement failed to even mention this attack, India refused to sign. With the SCO operating on consensus, India's refusal scrapped the entire statement. Singh also invoked Operation Sindoor, India's retaliatory military operation, warning that silence on terrorism equals complicity. This move signals a clear shift in India's foreign policy posture: diplomacy with spine. Find out why this wasn't just a meeting—it was a message.#rajnathsingh #sco #india #china #scomeeting #indiavschina #terrorism #operationsindoor #sco2025 #foreignpolicy #toi #toibharat #bharat #breakingnews #indianews 184 views | 21 hours ago

Operation Sindoor: Bad news for China, Pakistan, Bangladesh as India plans to expand S-400 arsenal by…, Russia commits to…
एस-400 ट्रायम्फ को लेकर चर्चा New Delhi: The Indian Armed Forces, during Operation Sindoor, decimated the terror launchpads and training camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir (PoK). Reports now suggest that Pakistan has initiated a fresh effort to reconstruct terror camps. This rebuilding process is receiving full support from Pakistan's military, the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), and government authorities. During the operation, the India's S-400 air defence systems also played a pivotal role. Now, the Modi government is planning to purchase of two more squadrons of the long-range surface-to-air missile system from Russia, news agency ANI has reported. What Role Did S-400 Systems Play During Operation Sindoor? During Operation Sindoor, the S-400 systems intercepted multiple Pakistan Air Force fighter jets and airborne early warning aircraft. Notably, one system achieved a record by hitting an aircraft over 300 kilometres away, highlighting its long-range strike capability. When will Russia deliver the remaining two S-400 squadrons? Russia has assured India it will deliver the two remaining squadrons of the S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile systems, which played a crucial role during Operation Sindoor against Pakistan last month, by 2026-27. According to a Times of India report, the delivery of the fourth and fifth squadrons of the S-400 air defence systems, which has been hugely delayed due to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, figured in the bilateral meeting between defence minister Rajnath Singh and his Russian counterpart Andrey Belousov. Why is indigenous LRSAM development facing delays? The move to consider additional S-400 units is also driven by delays in India's indigenous long-range surface-to-air missile (LRSAM) initiative, Project Kusha. Developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) in partnership with Solar Defence and Aerospace Limited and Bharat Dynamics Limited, the project is still some time away from full deployment, making an interim solution necessary. It is important to note that Each S-400 squadron has two missile batteries with 128 missiles each. These missiles have interception ranges of 120, 200, 250 and 380-km, as well as long-range acquisition and engagement radars and all-terrain transporter-erector vehicles. The IAF has deployed the first three S-400 squadrons in north-west and east India to cater for both China and Pakistan.
