Michael Imperioli joins Patrick Dempsey 'Memory of a Killer' series

File Photo by Jim Ruymen/UPI | License Photo July 1 (UPI) -- Fox announced Tuesday that it has cast Michael Imperioli to star alongside Patrick Dempsey in Memory of a Killer, which will air midseason. Dempsey was cast in May. Warner Bros. Television and Fox Entertainment co-produce. The show is based on the 2003 Belgian film. Dempsey will play hitman Angelo Ledda, who is keeping his early onset Alzheimer's a secret. Imperioli will play Dutch, a Bronx restaurateur and crime boss who assigns Angelo his targets. Ed Whitmore and Tracey Malone adapt the film and executive produce. Dempsey recently played the Miami police captain on the prequel Dexter: Original Sin. Imperioli was recently on Season 2 of The White Lotus and the Hulu series This Fool. Imperioli is best known for The Sopranos, in which he played Tony Soprano's protege Christopher Moltisanti. Dempsey was on Grey's Anatomy for 11 seasons, on which his doctor character was dubbed "McDreamy."

FX renews 'The Bear' for Season 5

File Photo by Chris Chew/UPI | License Photo July 1 (UPI) -- FX announced Tuesday it has renewed The Bear for a fifth season. Season 4 premiered Wednesday on Hulu. Season 5 will premiere in 2026. Season 4 sees chef Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) and his staff of The Bear running out of time to save their restaurant. Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) entertains an offer from another restaurant. Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) is dealing with his ex-wife's remarriage and shared custody of their daughter while helping Carmy manage the restaurant. The Bear also stars Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce, Liza Colón-Zayas and Matty Matheson. Oliver Platt and Molly Gordon recur in some episodes. Platt plays Carmy's Uncle Jimmy who financed The Bear, but is waiting to see a profit. Gordon plays Claire, the love interest Carmy pushed away and with whom he tried to reconnect in Season 4. The show has won 21 Emmys including two each for White and Moss-Bachrach, one for Edebiri, Colón-Zayas and guest stars Jon Bernthal and Jamie Lee Curtis, who both appear in Season 4 also. Christopher Storer created The Bear and executive produces with Josh Senior, Joanna Calo, Cooper Wehde, Tyson Bidner, Matheson, Hiro Murai and Rene Gube.

Peter-Henry Schroeder Dies: ‘Argo' & ‘Star Trek' Character Actor Was 90
Peter-Henry Schroeder, who played roles as diverse as a producer in the Oscar-winning Argo and a Klingon in Star Trek: Enterprise, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on June 7 at Lake City VA Medical Center in Florida. He was 90 years old. Schroeder was drafted into the U.S. Army to active duty in the Korean War from 1953 to 1955, where he was assigned to a unit that was involved with the USO. After his return from service, he studied with PaulaStrasberg. In Hollywood, he formed his own production company, PHS Productions, to pursue his own projects, was a guest teacher at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and established the Actor/Artist Group Workshop in 1979. Also in 1979, Schroeder worked with Meryl Streep and Alan Alda in The Seduction of Joe Tynan. In 2001, he had a two-episode arc as the Klingon Chancellor on Star Trek: Enterprise. More recently, he played a producer in the Academy Award-winning film Argo. In his last days at a VA Medical Center in Florida, Schroeder frequently asked, 'When are you going to get me out of here, I've got to get back to LA [to work].' He will return to L.A. with ceremony with Military Honors to rest in peace at the VA National Cemetery there. The ceremony will be held at a future date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, condolences may be shared in his memory through the Human Animal Life Foundation. He is survived by his daughter Valerie Lynn Schroeder, his son Peter Henry Schroeder II with daughter-in-law Felicia Cristiani Bass, his grandson Peter Henry Schroeder III and his grandson Jarrid Michael Schroeder.
