Lawyer threatens senior citizen, daughter with gun over land dispute in Mulshi
The accused has been identified as Sandeep Hiraman Bhaoir, 48, a resident of Dange Chowk Thergaon. A complaint was filed by Shabbir Mulani, 63.
According to police, the incident occurred around 1:30 pm at Survey No. 19/1 in Kasarsai.
The complainant was sitting outside his house when Bhoir and four unidentified men approached the property, allegedly to inspect the plot.
When Mulani questioned their presence and asked why they were near his home, stating that the land belonged to his family, an argument broke out. Enraged, Bhoir allegedly pulled out a firearm and threatened Mulani and his daughter. The other men in the group reportedly abused and intimidated the complainant.
Based on Mulani's complaint, Hinjewadi police booked Bhoir and his associates under sections 189(2), 189(4), 190, 191(2), and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, along with relevant sections of the Arms Act and Maharashtra Police Act.
Vishal Gaikwad, deputy commissioner of police zone ||, confirmed the case and said further investigation is underway to identify and apprehend the remaining accused.
Bhaoir has also filed a cross-complaint against Mulani for assaulting him. Four others were present with Bhaoir when the incident took place, said police.

Babbar Khalsa International Operative, 22, Arrested For Punjab Grenade Attack
New Delhi: The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has arrested a 22-year-old man linked to the banned terror group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) and wanted in connection with a grenade attack in Punjab. The accused was identified as Karanbir alias Karan, said Amit Kaushik, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Special Cell/New Delhi Range. Karanbir was arrested in connection with the grenade attack at Police Station Quila Lal Singh, in Punjab's Gurdaspur district in April, the police said in a statement on Sunday. The accused was arrested in Gurdaspur, Punjab, under the Arms Act on Saturday. Confessing to his involvement in the grenade attack, Karanbir said that he was in contact with a person from Punjab, but based abroad and handling operations for BKI. The accused also shared that he facilitated the stay of two persons at his home before the attack, who had executed the task of launching the grenade at Police Station Qila Lal Singh. The accused revealed that his handler used to instruct him through social media applications to commit criminal and terror activities. Karanbir revealed that he also visited a West Asian country in 2024. Karanbir told the police that he received money from his handler for executing the said grenade attack. Karanbir's brother, Gursewak, who was also involved in the attack, has already been arrested in the case. Karanbir was arrested based on the leads provided by Akashdeep alias Bazz of Amritsar, an accused in a case registered under the Arms Act. Akashdeep, who was arrested in Indore on Tuesday, was also found involved in the grenade attack case at the Police Station Quila Lal Singh. Notably, soon after the attack, a social media post by Happy Passia, Mannu Agwan and Gopi Nawanshahria, affiliated with BKI, claimed responsibility for the attack and also extended a threat to Delhi. The National Investigation Agency is probing the case. Further investigation is underway.

Proclaimed offender held nine years after murder
New Delhi: Delhi Police Crime Branch has arrested a proclaimed offender who was absconding for nearly nine years in a gruesome 2016 murder case in Uttam Nagar. The accused, 33-year-old Antaj Ansari, was finally traced and apprehended in Mohali, Punjab. Originally from Bihar's Siwan district, Antaj was residing in Delhi's Om Vihar at the time of the crime. He was wanted for the murder of his landlord, Rahim alias Salman, whose body was found partially burnt, wrapped in a blanket, and tied with electric wires in a vacant plot on Nov 27, 2016. Police said the case was initially a blind one, with no leads. Forensic analysis and local intelligence later revealed that Antaj, Rahim, and an associate, Devender alias Chhota Balle, were drinking together when a heated argument escalated. "In a fit of rage, Antaj and Devender struck Rahim with an iron rod, followed by a brick, and then stabbed him with a kitchen knife," said DCP (Crime) Harsh Indora. "After ensuring he was dead, they wrapped the body in a blanket and dumped it in Mohan Garden. They returned the next day, confirmed the victim's death, and set the body on fire to conceal the identity. Two firearms and live cartridges were seized, and a separate Arms Act case was registered. While Devender stood trial, Antaj skipped proceedings and was declared a proclaimed offender in Dec 2024. Acting on a tip-off, police tracked him to Mohali and arrested him near a guest house on July 25.

Man, two daughters killed as truck hits motorcycle
Pune, July 27 (PTI) A 37-year-old man and his two minor daughters were killed after their motorcycle was knocked down by a truck in Baramati city in Pune district on Sunday, police said. The deceased, Omkar Acharya, was returning home in the morning after picking up one of his daughters from a school when the incident occurred in Khandoba Nagar area. 'Acharya picked up his daughter Saee (10) from her school. He, Saee, and his other daughter Madhura (4) were returning home on the motorcycle when a dumper truck hit the bike from behind while attempting to overtake," said a police officer. The trio fell off the bike and sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared them dead on arrival, he said.
