Bandi accuses Congress of rendering severe injustice to BCs

The Hindua day ago
Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar has accused the Congress party of denying Backward Classes (BCs) their rightful share in political and other vital spheres, thereby rendering grave injustice to them.
The Congress had never made a BC leader the Prime Minister and Chief Minister during its nearly half a century rule, he charged while speaking to reporters at Marrimadla village in Rajanna Sircilla district on Friday..
Earlier, the Union Minister laid the foundation stones for staff quarters and compound wall of the Ekalavya Model Residential School at an estimated cost of ₹5 crore in Marrimadla.
He said, 'What is the rationale behind conducting a meeting christened as 'Samajika Nyaya Samara Bheri' by the Congress in Hyderabad given its dubious distinction of rendering severe injustice to BCs.'
The Congress leaders should have named it as 'Samajika Anyaya Samara Bheri', he said.
Mr. Sanjay asserted that the BJP has the proven track record of making leaders of BCs and other weaker sections occupy key constitutional posts at the national level and giving weaker sections due share in the Union Cabinet.
He alleged that the ruling Congress party is spearheading false propaganda against the BJP to cover up its failure to implement six poll guarantees and 420 promises made in its 2023 Assembly elections manifesto.
Both the Congress and the BRS are deliberately trying to blame the Central government over the urea issue, he flayed.
He noted that the Centre had allocated 12 lakh metric tonnes of urea as against the requirement of 9 lakh metric tonnes of urea to Telangana in the last season. The Centre is ready to give adequate quantities of urea in the current season, he said, condemning the 'false propaganda' against the Centre over the issue.

MK Stalin, battling 'Hindi imposition' in Tamil Nadu, finds allies in Thackerays

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin on Saturday came out all guns blazing against the BJP and the Centre, saying they have faced a second defeat in their quest for "Hindi imposition" in the country as he congratulated Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray for their "victory rally" over the Maharashtra government's rollback of the three-language to Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray as "brother", Stalin spoke about the Thackeray cousins' joint rally against "Hindi imposition" in Maharashtra, saying the war waged by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu has now transcended state language rights struggle, waged generation after generation by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the people of Tamil Nadu to defeat Hindi imposition, has now transcended state boundaries and is swirling like a storm of protest in Maharashtra," Stalin posted in Tamil on X. Earlier in Mumbai, Uddhav and Maharashtra Nav Nirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray said the cause of 'Marathi bhasha' and 'Marathi manoos' brought them their "reunion", Stalin accused the BJP of acting "lawlessly and anarchically by stating that funds will be allocated only if Hindi is taught as a third language in Tamil Nadu schools". Stalin added that the BJP has been forced to back down for the second time in Maharashtra, where they govern, due to fear of the people's Tamil Nadu government, under MK Stalin, has refused to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) which provisioned teaching a third language in state schools and colleges apart from Tamil and English, and has dragged the Centre to the Supreme Court over the also accused the Centre of withholding Rs 573 crore under the Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan scheme over the state's refusal to join the PM SHRI initiative to set up model schools. Tamil Nadu maintains its refusal has to do with the conditions to implement the last week, the Devendra Fadnavis-led government in Maharashtra cancelled its amended government resolution (GR) on the three-language policy and announced the formation of a new committee to review and implement the policy Saturday, Uddhav and Raj Thackeray celebrated the move as their victory over "Hindi imposition" in the Marathi-speaking Maharashtra."I know well that the Union government, which prioritises the promotion of Hindi and Sanskrit full-time, has no answers to the questions raised by Mr Raj Thackeray: What is the third language taught in Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan? And Hindi-speaking states are lagging behind—why are you imposing Hindi on the people of progressive non-Hindi-speaking states?" Stalin continued his tirade in a long post on further said that Tamil Nadu's fight against "Hindi and Sanskrit imposition" is to protect India's pluralistic culture, and is not "driven by hatred".He warned that if the BJP did not mend its ways, "Tamil Nadu will once again teach the BJP and its new allies a lesson they will never forget!"- EndsMust Watch IN THIS STORY#Tamil Nadu#Maharashtra

Joshi slams state govt over unresolved river disputes

Haveri: Union minister Pralhad Joshi expressed concerns over the unresolved Cauvery and Krishna River disputes, attributing it to the state govt's poor performance. During a press interaction at Shiggaon on Saturday, Joshi noted that the Tamil Nadu govt, which includes Congress ministers, did not succeed in obtaining approval for the Mekedatu project. He supported Union minister HD Kumaraswamy's proposition challenging the Congress govt in the state to get its ally in Tamil Nadu to approve the project. "The Union govt amended the tribunal law to establish a unified tribunal with multiple benches to expedite judgments," Joshi said. Regarding the BJP's nationwide membership drive, Joshi described it as an organisational phase aimed at strengthening the party framework. He addressed concerns about the position of the BJP state president, explaining that the selection process now involves elections beginning at the booth level, advancing through mandal and district levels, rather than direct appointments. Addressing Rahul Gandhi's remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi following US President Trump's instructions, Joshi characterised Gandhi as a part-time politician. He stated that Gandhi shows poor comprehension of foreign policy and international relations, merely reading prepared texts, and suggested his statements warrant little attention. Joshi inspected the water supply initiatives under Amrit Yojana-2 in Savanur and Shiggaon on Saturday. The Shiggaon project received approval for Rs 51 crore, while the Savanur scheme was allocated Rs 38.4 crore.

Madikeri: People are being made to believe that the central NDRF grant is a state govt grant, alleged Yaduveer Wadiyar , Mysore MP. Speaking at a public grievance meeting held at the Gonikoppa Durga Boji Hall, he said the state govt has reached financial bankruptcy by giving various benefits. Therefore, development works are not progressing not only in the district, but across the state, he said. Taking a dig at the Congress govt, Yaduveer said a caste census survey was conducted spending Rs 169 crore, but still, the report was not disclosed. He urged that people should develop the attitude of questioning the alleged mismanagement of money by the govt. "There is no need for us to openly tell the scams of the state govt. The functionaries of the Congress party themselves are exposing it," Yaduveer stated.
