Under orders from the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), the Transport Department, along with Delhi Police and traffic teams, has begun strict implementation. At least one traffic officer has been stationed at each of the 350 petrol pumps across the city to prevent fuelling of EoL vehicles. Teams from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and 59 exclusive transport teams are part of this enforcement drive, with police having powers to impound or issue challans to violators.

Govt. to seek clarity on overage vehicles with fitness certificates
Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa on Wednesday said the Delhi government will approach the Commission for Air Quality Management in NCR and Adjoining Areas (CAQM) to seek clarity on the issue of vehicles that have passed fitness tests but are classified as overage. The decision follows criticism from residents, particularly owners of vehicles deemed overage but issued Pollution Under Control certificates after clearing fitness checks. According to the National Green Tribunal, overage vehicles are defined as petrol vehicles older than 15 years and diesel vehicles older than 10 years. On Tuesday, fuel stations in the Capital denied fuel to overage vehicles. Mr. Sirsa said the government aims to present all relevant facts before the CAQM. 'We will present all facts before the CAQM — what steps we have taken, how enforcement is being implemented, and how we are cleaning the air,' he said at a press meet.
