Ed Sheeran talked about his experience of shooting the song 'Sapphire' in India. He also called Arijit the best singer in the world.
Grammy-winning musician Ed Sheeran teamed up with Bollywood singer Arijit Singh for a special cross-cultural version of his song, Sapphire. Ever since their collaboration, the British singer has been all praise for Arijit. From interviews to social media posts, Sheeran has been showering Arijit with love.
Sitting down for an interview at Australia's 60 Minutes show, Sheeran once again talked about his experience of shooting the song Sapphire in India.
Calling Arijit the best singer in the world, the Grammy-winning musician said, 'Sapphire was again. We went to India, we created the song, and we got all sorts of amazing Indian musicians on it. And Arijit Singh, he is arguably the best singer in the world."
Ed Sheeran's Most Amazing Days in His Musical Career
Sheeran earlier reflected on his collaboration with Arijit Singh in an interview with news agency IANS. The singer reflected on his visit to Arijit's hometown, Jiaganj Azimganj in West Bengal, and said, 'One of my favourite experiences ever in my career was going to Jiaganj Azimganj with my dad to go and see Arijit for the final jigsaw piece of Sapphire. It was a 24-hour trip, and it felt like a pilgrimage of music. After a five-and-a-half-hour drive after we landed, we arrived, and Arijit took us on a boat to see the sights. We talked, ate, and drank coffee."
He added, 'Then, once we were in the studio, he taught me how to sing in Punjabi and a bit of sitar. We then went on a late-night scooty ride, with me on the back of Arijit's bike and my dad on the back of his security'. We listened to A Prayer By The River and talked about music. It was honestly one of the most amazing days in my musical career, and it was the ending of a beautiful journey of this song but the beginning of something bigger."
Ed Sheeran Loves Arijit Singh's Voice
During the same interaction, Ed Sheeran heaped praise on Arijit and said, 'I love the special version of Sapphire. It's the one I listen to every morning with my daughters because I love Arijit's voice, tone, flow, and rhythm. I hope you feel the same way I do about it. Thank you, Arijit, for your time, grace, and talent."
Sapphire's Special Version
Recorded in Goa, the special version of Sapphire adds another dimension to the vibrant summer track. Ed Sheeran and Arijit Singh worked on both the Punjabi and original versions, which were released last month. Both versions of the track have been produced by Ilya Salmanzadeh, Johnny McDaid, and Savan Kotecha.
The Punjabi version saw Arijit sing a verse in a mix of Hindi and Punjabi and a chorus in English, while Sheeran sang a chorus in a mix of both languages. The result? A blissful cross-cultural fusion of languages and cultures that nobody saw coming but everyone loved.

Musicians Praveen D Rao & Varijashree Venugopal celebrate their bond ahead of Friendship Day

Being flautist HS Venugopal's daughter, Grammy-nominated singer Varijashree Venugopal grew up in a world immersed in music. Little did she know then that she would grow up to become close friends with composer Praveen D Rao, whom she first met as a child. 'I don't think she remembers the first time we met because she was a very tiny one-and-a-half or two-year-old. I remember trying to get the names of scales out of her, singing different scales. She was kind of a toy for many musicians at the time, and a wonderful ball of energy,' reminisces Rao. It was only later, when a teen Venugopal started making her way into recording studios as a flutist and singer, that a deeper bond of intellectual and musical friendship and mentor-mentee relationship formed between the two. Pointing out a quality she greatly admires in Rao, she says, 'During his recording sessions, what I have observed is how he makes the artist feel – even if something is not working out, he has a magical way of making things work. The artist who comes to play a session invariably goes back home feeling very fulfilled and pumped up about themselves. That's a very rare quality in a person.' The admiration goes both ways, with Rao noting that collaborating with Venugopal means being on the same wavelength. 'Usually, a composer composes a song, and the singer tries to replicate it as well as they can. But Varijashree always makes the song her own, so beautifully. She just gets into my brain, gets the feel of the song and knows exactly what I want, but makes it better,' he says. The age gap between them, the duo emphasises, has not stood in the way of a deep mental connection. Venugopal says, 'Even though we have quite a gap when it comes to age, mentally, it feels very natural and enriching to share conversations and thoughts. Many times, if I am stuck with some kind of situation or I am not able to make a decision about something, I call him to talk and bounce ideas. The way he maintains his cool and composure is very significant in him.'

A Quiet Place Part III Gets 2027 Release Date, John Krasinski To Direct Once Again

Last Updated: John Krasinski returns as director for A Quiet Place Part III, set to release on July 9, 2027. Plot and cast details remain under wraps. The much-anticipated A Quiet Place Part III is officially happening, and John Krasinski is back at the helm. As per Variety, Krasinski will serve as the director, writer, and producer for the third main installment in Paramount's hit horror-thriller franchise. He confirmed the news on August 1 via Instagram, along with updates on the Michael Sarnoski-directed spinoff, A Quiet Place: Day One. The next chapter in the Quiet Place saga is slated to hit theatres on July 9, 2027. However, plot details are tightly under wraps, and it remains unknown whether franchise regulars Emily Blunt, Noah Jupe, and Millicent Simmonds will reprise their roles. The new installment will once again revolve around the terrifying alien creatures with hypersensitive hearing that have decimated human populations. According to Variety, the film is expected to continue exploring the idea of humans using whispers and silence to survive in a hostile, post-apocalyptic world. The film will be produced under Krasinski's banner Sunday Night Productions, along with Allyson Seeger and Platinum Dunes. Notably, Seeger's company has a first-look deal with Paramount, solidifying their creative stake in the franchise's future. The A Quiet Place franchise has been a commercial powerhouse, grossing over $900 million worldwide across three films. The original, released in 2018, was a critical and box-office success, raking in $50.2 million on its opening weekend and going on to earn $341 million globally. Its sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, faced delays due to the pandemic but still managed to pull in $297.3 million worldwide. The 2024 spinoff A Quiet Place: Day One, directed by Michael Sarnoski and starring Lupita Nyong'o, Joseph Quinn, and Djimon Hounsou, was also a hit, collecting $262 million globally. Set in a crumbling New York City ravaged by the alien invasion, the spinoff expanded the franchise's universe and mythology. With Part III now officially dated and John Krasinski once again leading the charge, fans of the suspense-filled series can begin the countdown to what promises to be another edge-of-the-seat thriller. Sarah Jessica Parker Bids Goodbye To Carrie Bradshaw: 'Been Frustrated And Rooted For Her'

Last Updated: Sarah Jessica Parker says an emotional goodbye to Carrie Bradshaw as And Just Like That wraps up with Season 3, calling it a 'joyous adventure.' Sarah Jessica Parker is officially bidding farewell to Carrie Bradshaw — the iconic character she embodied for nearly three decades. With HBO Max's And Just Like That concluding after its third season, Parker took to Instagram to reflect on her 27-year journey as the Sex and the City heroine and expressed heartfelt gratitude for the ride. 'Carrie Bradshaw has dominated my professional heartbeat for 27 years. I think I have loved her most of all," Parker wrote in a deeply emotional post. 'I know others have loved her just as I have. Been frustrated, condemned and rooted for her. The symphony of all those emotions has been the greatest soundtrack and most consequential companion. Therefore the most sentimental and profound gratitude and a lifetime of debt. To you all." View this post on Instagram A post shared by SJP (@sarahjessicaparker) Parker's co-star Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte York, also penned a touching note following the announcement. 'I am profoundly sad. I love our whole beautiful cast and crew. 400 artisans working so hard on our show with deep love. And to our loyal fans, we love you forever and ever," Davis wrote. The news of the show ending was confirmed just as Season 3 started airing. Showrunner Michael Patrick King explained that they had initially chosen to delay the announcement to preserve the audience's excitement. 'We didn't want the word 'final' to overshadow the fun of watching the season. It's with great gratitude we thank all the viewers who have let these characters into their homes and their hearts over these many years," he said. From chronicling the ups and downs of single life in Manhattan to evolving into a tale of middle-age and reinvention, Carrie Bradshaw has remained an enduring cultural icon. With And Just Like That offering a bittersweet close to the story, Parker's tribute reminds fans just how deeply intertwined her real-life journey has been with the fictional one.
