‘Received no communication from Tipra Motha over withdrawal of support': Tripura CM Manik Saha
'What the Tipra Motha MLA (Ranjit Debbarma) said over the tripartite accord… I didn't receive anything in writing from the party,' Saha said in Agartala on the sidelines of a BJP program.
Speaking on the tripartite Tiprasa Accord, the chief minister said he was in regular touch with Tipra Motha founder Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, and the process to implement the Accord was on.
Meanwhile, Pradyot Kishore met Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu at Raj Bhawan on Sunday. After the meeting, the Tipra Motha founder said, 'It's a personal visit to the Governor. We also met yesterday (Saturday) at a program. He told me to meet him and, accordingly, I visited him and talked about various subjects. Whatever discussion happened between me and the Governor will remain between us. I don't want to comment on this before the media. The only thing I can say is that the Governor has heard my views, and I have heard his advice patiently. Let's see how things turn out.'
When asked about the recent visit of a Tipra Motha delegation to the Governor over the infiltration issue, Pradyot Kishore said, 'If we cannot unite to stop illegal infiltration, then it will be a huge injustice to our next generation, who will be deprived of a better tomorrow. Political parties should come together and stop illegal infiltration that is happening in Tripura, because it is going to affect Tripura, it is going to affect the Northeast, and it is going to affect India as well.'
Asked about his recent interactions with the chief minister, Pradyot Kishore said, 'Whatever is discussed between me and him is for the betterment of Tripura and not for anything else. I spoke to him yesterday, and if required, I shall speak to him today also.'
On Saturday, Tipra Motha MLA and rebel-turned-politician Ranjit Debbarma first said at a press conference that they were ready to withdraw support from the Manik Saha-led government over the 'non-implementation' of the Tiprasa Accord and the 'failure' to rein in illegal infiltration from Bangladesh.
But within hours of that announcement, Pradyot Kishore clarified that Tipra Motha was not leaving the ruling coalition. Replying to questions from media persons, he had said, 'I didn't know what was said in the press conference. I shall talk to Ranjit Debbarma and ask what statement was given.'

'Ache Din' not for Delhi citizens as fuel ban for old vehicles to kick in from November
The Delhi-NCR region is bracing for a fresh wave of vehicular restrictions as a fuel ban targeting End-of-Life (EOL) vehicles is set to take effect from November 1, 2025. The move, initiated by the Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM), aims to curb air pollution by prohibiting fuel supply to diesel vehicles older than 10 years and petrol vehicles older than 15 latest order comes after weeks of confusion and fierce public backlash, triggered by an earlier July 1 rollout of the same ban in Delhi. Under the directive, petrol pumps were instructed to deny fuel to EOL vehicles, supported by automated ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) systems and police within days, the Delhi government backtracked, suspending the fuel restriction temporarily following widespread outrage from citizens. Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa stated that vehicles would not be impounded and emphasised a "new system" to balance environmental goals with public rights. "We will not let Delhi's environment be harmed, nor will we permit the confiscation of vehicles owned by its residents," he said on July response to Delhi's plea, CAQM convened a meeting and decided to enforce the fuel ban uniformly across all six NCR cities which includes Delhi, Gurugram, Faridabad, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Sonipat, from November 1, providing time for systemic improvements and public authorities acknowledged operational challenges, including:Incomplete ANPR infrastructure in NCR citiesPoor integration with state vehicle databasesRisk of illegal fuel sourcing from neighbouring statesThese concerns were central to the Delhi government's request for a delay in policy has sparked political uproar and legal action. Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena urged the state government to pause the move, calling the ban unfair to the middle class who "spend their life's earnings on a vehicle."Delhi High Court has also issued notices to the Delhi government and CAQM in response to a petition filed by the Delhi Petrol Dealers Association, which challenged the enforceability of the Chief Minister Rekha Gupta admitted on social media that while the government is committed to fighting pollution, the transition must be sensitive to economic and social the ban was first announced at the start of the month, opposition leaders, including Saurabh Bharadwaj and Atishi, lashed out at the BJP-led Delhi government, accusing it of acting hastily, backpedaling under pressure, and lacking administrative foresight. Atishi went further, alleging "collusion" with car manufacturers and scrap dealers, calling the plan a "betrayal of public trust."If implemented as scheduled, from November 1, no fuel will be provided to vehicles that fall outside the age criteria in all six NCR districts. Authorities plan to rely on ANPR cameras to automatically detect the age of vehicles at fuel unless a formal, transparent, and uniform system is introduced across NCR and unless public concerns are addressed, the policy may once again run into logistical roadblocks, public defiance, and more to Auto Today Magazine- Ends

Video of Kerala BJP leaders with Jyoti Malhotra surfaces amid espionage row
Thiruvananthapuram: A video showing BJP leaders in Kerala with YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra currently under arrest in an espionage case -- has surfaced. The video surfaced just days after BJP leaders criticised the Kerala government for hosting Malhotra under its influencer outreach campaign. The video dates back to 2023, during the inaugural run of the Vande Bharat Express from Kasaragod to Thiruvananthapuram. In it, Malhotra is seen engaging in a promotional interaction with then Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan, asking him about the significance of the new high-speed train. Seated beside Muraleedharan is then Kerala BJP President K. Surendran. Malhotra was one of 41 influencers invited by Kerala Tourism, with her travel and accommodation arranged by a private agency contracted by the department. This development comes at a time when BJP leaders had launched a strong attack on the Pinarayi Vijayan-led CPI(M) government over revelations that Malhotra's Kerala visit -- including travel, accommodation, food, and filming -- was fully sponsored by a private agency contracted by the state's Tourism Department. Following her arrest in an espionage case, BJP leaders -- including senior leader Prakash Javadekar -- slammed the state government, demanding an explanation for 'hosting a tainted individual.' "The Kerala government must explain how such a serious lapse occurred. They cannot simply brush this aside," Javadekar had said. In response, the CPI(M) on Monday condemned the BJP's attempts to politicise the issue, accusing the party of trying to deflect attention from its own failures on national security. Tourism Minister P.A. Mohamed Riyas, who also happens to be Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's son-in-law, had come under fire from BJP leaders over the matter. However, with the emergence of the video, both sides seek to distance themselves from any perceived association with the accused. At the time when Jyoti Malhotra was invited to Kerala to promote tourism, there were no known allegations against her and she was considered a regular social media influencer. She was there in her capacity as a content creator.
