Groups for 2025 NBA Cup tournament released by league. Tournament ends Dec. 16 in Las Vegas
The league unveiled the groups for the third year of the tournament, which tips off on Oct. 31. Group play continues through Nov. 28.

Quarterfinals will be Dec. 9 and Dec. 10, with the tournament semifinals on Dec. 13 in Las Vegas. The championship game — which will not count toward the season record and statistics for either of the clubs involved — is Dec. 16 in Las Vegas.
In group play, teams will all have two road and two home games. Teams that do not reach the quarterfinals or semifinals will have added to their schedules matchups against two other teams that also did not qualify for the Cup playoffs, pushing the season to the full 82 games.
Quarterfinals and semifinal games will count toward the regular season for the teams involved in those contests.
Full schedules will be announced in August, coinciding with the rest of the NBA's schedule rollout for the 2025-26 season.

East Group A — Cleveland, Indiana, Atlanta, Toronto, Washington.
East Group B — Boston, Detroit, Orlando, Brooklyn, Philadelphia.
East Group C — Milwaukee, New York, Chicago, Miami, Charlotte.
West Group A — Oklahoma City, Minnesota, Sacramento, Phoenix, Utah.
West Group B — LA Lakers, LA Clippers, Memphis, Dallas, New Orleans.
West Group C — Houston, Denver, Golden State, Portland, San Antonio.

Sacramento was able to find their new stating point guard in free agency as they acquired Dennis Schroder from the Detroit Pistons via a sign-and-trade deal. Advertisement Because of this, the Kings could still look to add another point guard this offseason either through free agency or via trade and they have recently emerged as a potential landing spot for a former New York Knicks point guard. According to Kings play-by-play announcer Kyle Draper, Cameron Payne has interest in joining Sacramento in free agency this offseason. 'His representatives are trying to angle him to Sac,' Draper said about Payne. Payne would be a solid addition to the Kings' bench, especially after he played a large role off the bench for the Knicks last season. Last season, the 30-year-old guard averaged 6.9 points, 1.4 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game while shooting 40.1% from the field and 36.3% from three in 72 games in New York. Advertisement Payne is a solid scorer and playmaker who would be able to bring a spark off the bench for the Kings, which they desperately need at the point guard position entering next season. ‘Out of this world': Fans react to Bregman's return as Red Sox win in walk-off fashion
The Red Sox beat the Tampa Rays Friday night to extend their winning streak to eight games. Cedanne Rafaela hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to help the Sox overcome an early deficit. There was a noticeable energy shift at Fenway Friday night. Coming into the game, the Sox hadn't lost in a week, and the young players are starting to come around at the plate. Advertisement Friday night was also the return of All-Star third basemen Alex Bregman, who had missed nearly seven weeks because of a leg injury. Fans were excited to see him back in the lineup. 'I'm so excited for Bregman to come back now that he's healthy and because I've seen Devers have so many errors over the years,' Sox fan Jones Stone said. 'Out of this world, actually probably better than I expected. I think he's great for the clubhouse as well.' Bregman went one-for-four Friday night with a double. Now, there are questions about what team management will do at the trade deadline. A few weeks ago many people thought the team would 'sell' and look to the future. But after a great week, many fans want the team to add and help the club compete this season.
