From bathroom made of ‘kansa' to new wardrobe, Farah Khan takes us inside Karan Johar's home

If you ever find yourself wondering what it's like to live like a Bollywood mogul, just imagine sipping coffee in a lounge designed by Gauri Khan, overlooking the Arabian Sea, with a guest washroom fancier than most five-star hotels. Because that, dear reader, is Karan Johar's world.
The filmmaker, known for his larger-than-life storytelling, clearly brings the same grandeur into his personal space.
And thanks to filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan, fans recently got an exclusive inside tour of his extravagant home via her YouTube channel. With her signature wit, Farah introduced the video with, 'Today, we have come to Karan Johar's home, and he is not home right now. And this series is called 'How poor do I want to feel'.' Safe to say, the tour did not disappoint!
Designed in part by Karan's close friend Gauri Khan, along with interior designer Simone Dubash Pundole, the home is a perfect mix of high-end sophistication and warm, welcoming vibes. From plush lounges that have hosted the who's who of Bollywood to a kitchen straight out of a luxury magazine, every corner screams elegance.
Farah began the tour with Karan's lobby, before moving to his lounge with a bar, which has been the setting for many star-studded evenings with the likes of Deepika Padukone, Shah Rukh Khan, and more.
One of the standout features? The kansa (copper)-themed guest washroom—a detail that left Farah particularly awestruck. And if that wasn't fancy enough, Karan even stocks tiffin boxes for guests to take home as parting gifts!
Karan's kitchen is a modern masterpiece, decked out with metallic-accented gadgets, white-toned lighting fixtures, and sleek wooden décor. Practical yet stylish, the kitchen boasts ample storage and counter space—because even in a house this fancy, good food is still a priority!
His lounge and living room are equally breathtaking. With ceiling-high glass windows, the space offers mesmerizing views of the Mumbai skyline. Plush sofas, neutral-toned armchairs, and a statement chandelier add to the grandiose vibe.
His dining area seats 8-10 people, making it perfect for hosting lavish dinner parties. Beautiful artwork, elegant curtains, and soft natural light create an effortlessly luxurious ambiance.
No Karan Johar home tour would be complete without a look at his walk-in closet. Featuring spacious wooden cupboards and floor-length mirrors, this closet is every fashion enthusiast's dream. And given Karan's love for designer couture, it's no surprise that his wardrobe is as grand as his films.
The terrace, offering panoramic views of the Arabian Sea, is another highlight. With lush greenery, cosy outdoor furniture, and the perfect setting for late-night conversations, it's an oasis in the middle of Mumbai's bustling skyline.
From stunning architecture to thoughtfully curated décor, Karan Johar's home is the perfect extension of his larger-than-life persona.

Munawar Faruqui Reveals He Married Mehzabeen Coatwala For His Son Mikael: ‘I Need Him More'

Last Updated: Munawar Faruqui reveals he married Mehzabeen Coatwala for his son Mikael. 'I needed him with me,' says the Bigg Boss 17 winner in a candid interview with Farah Khan. Comedian and Bigg Boss 17 winner Munawar Faruqui has finally opened up about the real reason behind his quiet wedding to makeup artist Mehzabeen Coatwala in May 2024. In a candid conversation with Farah Khan on her YouTube channel, Munawar shared that the decision to get married wasn't planned long in advance—it was made just a month before the wedding—and was rooted deeply in his love for his son, Mikael. When Farah asked him if he knew Mehzabeen while he was still in the Bigg Boss house, Munawar responded with a firm 'No." She was surprised to learn that the wedding happened within just five months of them knowing each other. Opening up about the moment that changed everything, Munawar said, 'When I came out of Bigg Boss, I was working a lot. Mikael was living with my sister then. He was with me for a week and we spent a lot of time together and when he was leaving, I felt like I don't want him to go. I felt that he needs me. He kept hugging me the whole time." He continued, 'When he was leaving, I felt like he needs me and more than him, I think I need him. In that moment, I thought what is it that I should do so I can make him stay with me. For him, I took that decision." Munawar also revealed that his now-wife Mehzabeen was in a similar phase of life. 'She too has a 10-year-old daughter," he shared. When Farah commented on their 'blended family," Munawar called it a 'puzzle." Reflecting on his proposal, he said, 'I asked her the next day, 'Are you okay marrying me?' I stayed with that decision the whole night. I felt that Mikael should stay with me, I was just praying for that." The wedding was kept under wraps, with no official announcement on social media. In fact, it was only after a fan shared details online—and actress Hina Khan was spotted attending—that the news started gaining traction. Munawar didn't post about it, keeping the event private and intimate. Back when he was still inside the Bigg Boss house, Munawar was making headlines for his tumultuous love life. He was said to be dating Nazila Sitaishi, who later announced their breakup during a live session on Instagram while he was on the show. During one of the episodes, Munawar had revealed that his former wife had already remarried and that he had sole custody of his son Mikael. 'I know I've made mistakes," Munawar had once said in the house. But now, with this new chapter of his life, the comedian seems focused on moving forward—with love, purpose, and family at the centre of it all. First Published: July 04, 2025, 17:09 IST

Vashu Bhagnani Regrets Making Bade Miyan Chote Miyan With Ali Abbas Zafar: 'Made The Biggest Mistake'

Last Updated: Vashu Bhagnani regrets making Bade Miyan Chote Miyan with Ali Abbas Zafar, calling it a mistake and vowing to revive the franchise with David Dhawan's comedic flair. Veteran producer Vashu Bhagnani has opened up about the debacle of his 2024 action film Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, headlined by Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff. In a candid conversation with Ronak Kotecha on his YouTube channel Reviewron, Vashu admitted that the film's failure still stings and he considers it a misstep—especially in hindsight of what the original 1998 film achieved. Participating in a rapid-fire round, Vashu didn't mince words when asked for his thoughts on the latest version of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. 'Bahut acchi film thi pehli waali, Amitabh Bachchan aur Govinda waali. Second waali theek nahi thi," he remarked, clearly differentiating the beloved original from its rebooted successor. Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the 2024 version aimed to reinvent the title as a high-budget science fiction action film, but failed to click with audiences. Despite a promising opening day, the film's theatrical run fizzled out quickly. Made on a hefty budget of ₹350 crore, it managed to gross only ₹111.5 crore worldwide, earning the unfortunate tag of a box office bomb. Vashu didn't hold back when reflecting on the decision to collaborate with Zafar. 'I made the biggest mistake by making Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Part 2 with Ali Abbas Zafar. He didn't understand the title," he said. 'We got tired of telling him that this is a comedy film. You can add action, but at least make it an action-comedy." The original 1998 Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, directed by David Dhawan, was a riotous double-role comedy starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda. Released alongside Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, it still managed to emerge as a box office success, solidifying its place in '90s Bollywood nostalgia. Now, Vashu hopes to redeem the brand with a reboot truer to its roots. 'When I make it again, I'll get Rumi Jaffery ji to write the story. And if David Dhawan ji doesn't direct it, I'll ask him to produce it with me, because his mind works fast when it comes to comedy." While the 2024 version tried to modernize the franchise with a star-studded cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Manushi Chhillar, and Alaya F, its detour from comedy to high-octane action proved to be its undoing. Now, all eyes are on what Vashu does next to revive the legacy of Bade Miyan Chote Miyan—with laughter, not lasers. First Published:
