Cherries Jubilee

Cherries Jubilee

This effortless dessert brings the good vibes. Any dessert you set on fire is impressive. And its components remind me of my Black life — not a monolith. The origins of cherries jubilee go back to Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee in the late 1800s, for which Auguste Escoffier, a famous French chef, prepared this dessert. If you are fortunate enough to shop in a place with an abundance of cherry varieties, do find Bing, sour or Rainier cherries; they all work for this dessert. Hands down, they have the most distinctive and complex flavors.

David Beckham gushes over Victoria, his 'Lady Beckham,' after 26 years of marriage

After nearly three decades of marriage, David Beckham and Victoria Beckham are still gushing over each other as if it were Day 1. July 4 marks 26 years of marriage for the 50-year-old former footballer and the 51-year-old fashion designer, according to multiple social media posts from the couple. "26 years today you said YES to me," David captioned an Instagram post on Friday. "Happy Anniversary and thank you for giving me our beautiful children and building the life that we have together." He shared a series of photos of the couple, and their four children − Brooklyn Beckham, Romeo James Beckham, Cruz Beckham and Harper Seven Beckham − throughout the years. The beloved couple, who wed on July 4, 1999, are marking their latest marriage milestone just one week after David was hospitalized after undergoing surgery for a soccer-related wrist injury dating back to 2003. "I love you Lady Beckham," he concluded his caption, tagging not only his wife, Victoria, but his children too. "I love you so much ❤️❤️❤️❤️," Victoria commented under the photo carousel. On her own Instagram account, Victoria penned a sweet tribute to her husband. "Another year, another chapter in our love story," she wrote, along with a photo of the two kissing poolside. "I'm so proud of the beautiful family and life we've built together," she continued. "You and our four incredible children complete me. I love you so much @davidbeckham xx Here's to 26 years!! xx." In a September 2024 interview with USA TODAY, David spoke about what makes him and Victoria the "proudest": his four children. Beckham grew up in the East End of London in what he describes as a "working class background: parents that work very hard, two sisters that also work very hard." He and Victoria, despite the circumstances surrounding their fame, tried to pass that forward to their children. "They could be different than they are, but we are very lucky," Beckham said of his kids Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper. "They're kind, they're humble, they're hardworking and they're just good human beings. That's the biggest thing that we are proud of."

'I don't miss the workload that we had because we used to work a lot, and it's very hard to raise a family that way. I commend all of the actors who have families that are able to balance that.' 9 David Charvet with Nicole Eggert in 'Baywatch.' The French born actor was on the show from 1992 to 1995, playing Matt Brody. 'I miss the camaraderie that I had with the people on the sets,' he told the outlet. 'I had old-school producers and old-school people that worked as a unit, and it was a real family.' In the 2017 'Baywatch' movie, Zac Efron played that character. 9 David Charvet in California in June 2025. WCP,4cnrs / BACKGRID After 'Baywatch,' Charvet was on 'Melrose Place' from 1996 to 1998. He also appeared on shows like 'Seduced and Betrayed' and the 2009 ABC reality show 'The Superstars' and briefly had a music career in France. Charvet tied the knot with actress and model Brooke Burke in 2011, and welcomed daughter Heaven, now 18, and son Shaya, now 18, before they divorced in 2020. 9 Brooke Burke-Charvet and David Charvet attend Operation Smile's Annual Smile Gala – Inside at the Broad Stage in Santa Monica, California, on September 9, 2017. 'It was one way for me to leave Hollywood and to still be creative,' he told the outlet about his business, which builds luxury homes in Los Angeles. 'It was also one way for me to ensure that I would be home every morning and home every night so that I could raise my two children.' 9 Nicole Eggert, David Hasselhoff, Alexandra Paul, David Charvet, and Pamela Anderson in 'Baywatch.' 'The goal was when I got my children, when they were born, was that I was going to be hands-on. I promised Brooke that I would be that man,' he explained. 'I wouldn't change anything.' 'I have to say that what I've experienced with my kids and what I've experienced in the last 17 years has definitely made me a better man,' Charvet continued. '[It] has made me understand what it is to have real relationships and be able to treat people kindly and have more of a humble approach in life.' 'Baywatch' ran for 11 seasons from 1989 to 2001. The show also starred David Hasselhoff, Jeremy Jackson, Yasmine Bleeth, the late Michael Newman and Nicole Eggert.
