"WE need desserts to sweeten up our days, especially when things don't go according to plan," actor Muaz Zabir quipped.
The 27-year-old actor, who recently appeared in the popular TV3 drama series Keluarga Itu, revealed his plans to supply desserts to a friend's upcoming cafe.
This marks another foray into the world of business for Muaz, who has been balancing his entrepreneurial pursuits with his acting career.
Muaz's acting career took off after winning the TV3 reality show Fit For Action in 2022.
He then landed a role in the 2023 TV drama Bukan Hanya Sekadar Cinta.
Before his entertainment career, he worked as a personal trainer.
During the recent Ramadan period, Muaz took a brief hiatus from acting after completing his filming commitments for Keluarga Itu, which features a star-studded cast including Datuk Rosyam Noor, Datin Seri Umie Aida, Izara Aishah, Puteri Balqis, Amir Ahnaf, and Fattah Amin.
Instead of resting on his laurels, Muaz kept busy with various projects, including selling clothing at Hari Raya bazaars in both Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
He also serves as a brand ambassador for Primavalet.
Muaz also participated in Media Prima's recent corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme, Tonton Gen+ Suai Kenal Sekolah, organized by TV3, Tonton, and DIDIKTVKPM. Safi Shayla was the project's brand partner.
As part of the programme, Muaz shared his experiences with students at Sekolah Seri Puteri in Cyberjaya. Other celebrities involved in the initiative included Syahir Shafein, Anim Ezati, Zharif Ghazzi, Sharul Kamal, Fitri Farok, Hakimi Noordin, Shah (Tapaw), and Nisa Ka.
Regarding his new dessert venture, Muaz sees it as an opportunity to expand his horizons and gain valuable business experience.
"I'll be supplying chocolate and strawberry-based desserts initially.
"As we progress, we may expand the menu to include other sweet treats, such as banana-based desserts and ice cream," Muaz explained.
He added. "If chocolate can brighten someone's day, why not?"
"Since I'm relatively new to this, I'm relying on a trusted team to help manage the day-to-day operations. "However, I'm personally involved in the research and development, supplier sourcing, and other crucial aspects of the business," he said.

Furry friends become celebrities: Malaysian cats are now television fashion icons

SHAH ALAM: Does your cat have an extraordinary style that can steal the attention of the camera lens and the hearts of the judges ... Welcome to Malaysia's Cat Fashion Week and it is not just an ordinary competition — it is a celebration of style, love and unique expressions in the world of cat fashion that has never been witnessed on Malaysian TV. For the first time, Malaysia free-tv channel, TV3, is organising the first cat competition program, elevating the furry cutie to the level of runway celebrity. Now, the dream of seeing your beloved cat walk confidently on the catwalk and become the country's official fashion icon has come true. This is a golden opportunity — not only to be stylish, but to become a real star in the Malaysian entertainment world! The studio atmosphere transformed into the most stylish and cute stage when the curtain of Cat Fashion Week opened through the pre-judging session or the highly anticipated semi-final round. A total of 20 of the most fashionable cats, complete with their own unique styles and charismatic owners, appeared to display extraordinary fashion to win a place in the top eight finalists. With their own unique confidence and cat-titude, each pair of cats and their owners battled to book their tickets to the finals of Cat Fashion Week. Early in the judging process, the studio atmosphere was filled with excitement and anticipation, not only from the owners, but also from the cats who seemed to understand the situation. Some sat calmly and stylishly, some were nervous and shy, and some were even wandering around the set as if they were already familiar with the catwalk. In the sea of meows, fluff and couture sparkle typical of the cute ones, the owners' faces were still filled with excitement. However, they were still ready, delivering their own narratives about the stories and inspirations behind the styles chosen for their respective 'meow-dels', before stepping onto the catwalk and performing cute acts according to the theme highlighted. Each one's uniqueness was evident not only through their appearance, but also through their expressions and styles on stage — some were graceful and confident, while others were unpretentious but still captivated the judges with their own authenticity and aura. "Meow Menyala, Gaya Membara!" was not just a tagline — it was truly translated throughout the pre-judging session last Sunday. The judges were patient and relaxed yet focused; giving each cat the opportunity to showcase their unique personalities. Cat Fashion Week is truly a show full of emotion and uniqueness. From grooming, glamorous accessories, to the loving interactions between cats and their owners, everything will be displayed in an entertaining visual form. From over 100 online entries submitted at the end of last year, only 20 cats were selected for this pre-judging stage. Each participant showed off their unique style and charm with their respective owners in front of four great judges, namely Dr Ima (Dr Salehahtul Khuzaimah), a veterinarian with expertise in caring for small and exotic pets; Johan & His Cats, a digital content creator known as the King of Cats Malaysia; Yuen Wai, the Malaysian jury representative under The Federation International Feline (FIFe); and Mark Adam, a singer, actor and cat lover. The judging session was also strengthened by the presence of Khalid Rashid, or better known as Pak Khalid, who acted as the jury advisor. In recognition of the style, effort and uniqueness of each participant and their cat, Cat Fashion Week is offering generous rewards to the winners at the final stage. The grand champion will take home RM5,000 in cash, followed by RM3,000 for the runner-up, and RM2,000 for third place. Malaysian Actor Fikry Abdullah Back Together With Wife After Divorce Fiasco

Yesterday (19th June 2025, Thursday), fans were surprised to hear that Fikry Abdullah's wife had sought divorce from the actor just four months after tying the knot. After much commotion, the pair reveal they're back together. Late last night, Fikry's wife, Khalizah Alihan, shared a photo of her and Fikry holding hands on her Instagram account. In her captions, she wrote, 'Thank you to everyone who prayed for our happiness,' assuring the public about her marriage. This post followed the recent issue where Khalizah allegedly filed for divorce from Fikry. This news shocked fans because the couple had only married last February. To recap, Khalizah appeared at the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur Syariah Court on Thursday morning, which sparked rumours that she and Fikry are divorcing. After the news broke out, Fikry appeared at his hosting gig for TV3's 'Melodi' to clarify the situation. The 31-year-old denies the separation, saying his wife's appearance at the courthouse was to retract her previous divorce filing made in May. The actor also denied allegations that the divorce filing was a marketing gimmick. Fikry then assured the public that the couple was doing fine and would continue to work together to maintain a healthy marriage. Fans and netizens have reacted to the couple's brief separation, expressing relief that the couple are back together. However, the issue also sparked concern over Fikry and Khalizah's marriage. Many netizens argued that Khalizah may have filed for divorce because the couple had an argument, which left her in an emotional state. This speculation led to criticism that the pair lacked communication skills and that Khalizah didn't share her concerns with her husband before filing the divorce. As such, netizens are now advising the pair to be more proactive and communicate with each other more. It's good that Fikry and Khalizah have worked out their differences. However, we agree with netizens that they need to work on their communication. Nevertheless, we wish all the best for the pair. #SHOWBIZ: Lawyer of Fikry Ibrahim's wife denies she withdrew divorce application

KUALA LUMPUR: The Syariah lawyer representing Siti Khalizah Alihan, Wan Muhammad Afiq Mohd Razib, has refuted claims made by actor and host Fikry Ibrahim on TV3's Melodi last night, asserting that his client, Fikry's wife, has not withdrawn her divorce application. In a news report today, Wan Muhammad Afiq said that if the divorce application had indeed been withdrawn at the Federal Territory Syariah Court yesterday, as Fikry alleged, then no adjournment date would have been set for the divorce proceedings. "Yes, the court had given a long period for reconciliation. However, if the application were withdrawn, there wouldn't be an extension date issued by the court," he said. "We are requesting a further date to await the plaintiff's (Fikry's) response. If we had withdrawn it yesterday, then it would be over, with no adjournment date issued." He added: "There was no retraction yesterday. What the media reported yesterday is correct. I also don't want to inform (the media) otherwise." Fikry, who spoke to the media after the live broadcast of Melodi at Balai Berita last night, claimed that Siti Khalizah had appeared at the Federal Territory Syariah Court to withdraw her divorce application, which was filed last month. Fikry maintained that his marriage to Siti Khalizah, whom he married on Jan 12, is stable, even claiming they love each other. Commenting on Fikry's absence from the Federal Territory Syariah Court yesterday, Wan Muhammad Afiq confirmed that the summons had been served, but the plaintiff was not present. "The question of whether he (Fikry) sent our client to the court is outside our jurisdiction. What is certain is that he was not present yesterday," Wan Muhammad Afiq said. "We are all waiting for his stance on whether he wants to agree or not, or whether he wants to reconcile, because fundamentally, our client wants to reconcile. So, we need to know the plaintiff's position – whether he wants to reconcile or not. "But he (Fikry) didn't come yesterday either, so we couldn't get a response. If we are to make peace, there may be terms that need to be followed. Perhaps we can reconcile, which is why we need his stance and answer. "If he (Fikry) had come yesterday, we could have discussed it or received an answer. But he didn't come. So, we don't know his position. That's why the court set a postponement date." Yesterday, Wan Muhammad Afiq announced that his client had filed for divorce due to a lack of understanding between the couple. After the first mention of the divorce claim and application was completed yesterday, Wan Muhammad Afiq reportedly said that proceedings would continue on Sept 10 to allow both parties time to reconcile.
