ITV Coronation Street's Gary Windass star is married to famous actress as fans are stunned

Daily Record4 days ago
Coronation Street actor Mikey North has played Gary Windass on the ITV soap for over a decade and is a firm favourite with fans - but many don't know who his famous wife is.
Coronation Street fans have been left stunned after discovering Mikey North's famous spouse. Mikey, who is best known for his role as Gary Windass on the popular ITV soap, first graced the cobbles in 2008.
Arriving with the rest of the Windass clan, it wasn't long before he became a beloved character. Over the years, he has been involved in numerous significant storylines.

From battling PTSD to navigating failed romances on the cobbles, Gary's stint in Weatherfield has been anything but dull. Particularly recently, as this month saw Gary in a coma in hospital, with the circumstances leading to his condition yet to be disclosed.

However, fans have recently been taken aback upon discovering the identity of Mikey's well-known wife. Off-screen, he is happily married to his adoring actress wife, Rachael Isherwood as reported by Leicestershire Live.
The couple tied the knot in 2016, three years after they first met. Mikey and Rachael are parents to two children, son Archie, born in 2017, and a daughter Eliza, who they welcomed into the world in 2019.
Rachael herself is no stranger to the limelight. The fitness instructor had a significant role in the Hollywood blockbuster, Captain America: The First Avenger, back in 2011, according to MCU Fandom.
In the film, Rachael portrayed a USO dancer. Fans have reacted to a picture of Mikey North and his wife Rachael posted on a Coronation Street Facebook fan page. One person commented: "Mikey North and his wife Rachael."
Another person quiestioned: "Am I right in thinking she was in a Marvel film a few years ago?" A third added: "Ahhh no way."

Someone else exclaimed: "Such a gorgeous couple!". The proposal story is just as charming, as Mikey got down on one knee during a picturesque holiday in the Lake District back in 2015.
Recounting the romantic moment to OK!, Mikey revealed: "I asked her to shut her eyes. When she opened them I was down on one knee with the ring. I was looking up at Rachael, with my knees getting wet, and I just said: 'Will you marry me?'".

He further recounted: "In the moment before I proposed I was shaking like a leaf. Then when she said yes, I called my mum and just couldn't stop crying."
Elsewhere, Mikey has expressed concerns over his potential departure from the ITV soap. Speaking on This Morning regarding Gary's intense current storyline, Mikey made a light-hearted confession about his time in Weatherfield.
He shared with presenters Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard: "Gary's walked out and has gone missing. We find him in hospital in a coma."

Sharon Marshall humorously remarked that Maria often seems to be a 'black widow' on the street, given her history with men. Responding to this, Mikey quipped: "I think I've been with her five or six years counting, so I've probably got about six months left."
Recently, Gary has been central to a dramatic plot, now found in a coma in hospital after a savage assault left him fighting for his life. His absence from the show began following a fallout with his wife Maria.
Lou had deceitfully implicated Gary in an affair, prompting him to leave Weatherfield under the pretence of visiting his mother Anna Windass. However, when Maria discovered he hadn't gone to Anna's and returned home, Gary was nowhere to be found.
With Gary now lying unconscious in a hospital bed after a chilling attack, viewers are left wondering what happened and whether he will recover.
