Fatwa By International Union Of Muslim Scholars (IUMS), Based In And Funded By Qatar, Declares 'Armed Jihad' Against Israel Obligatory For All Muslims, Calls To Urgently Form 'Islamic Military Alliance' Against Israel
IUMS was founded in 2004 by Egyptian-born Sheikh Yousuf Al-Qaradawi, an important Muslim Brotherhood (MB) ideologue who lived in Qatar and was sponsored by its regime until 2018, when Ahmad Al-Raissouni took over leadership of IUMS. As documented in multiple MEMRI reports over the years, IUMS serves as a vital arm of the Qatari regime, which it uses to spread extremist anti-Western ideology, including incitement to jihad and terrorism, in keeping with the decades-long support Qatar has provided to various terrorist groups worldwide. IUMS clerics, including the group's current head Ali Al-Qaradaghi, are known for disseminating extremist Islamic discourse, supporting terrorist organizations, justifying terrorism and jihad against Israel and the West, and promulgating antisemitic and homophobic rhetoric. The fatwa states that "it is obligatory for every capable Muslim in the Islamic world to wage armed jihad against the occupation in Palestine," that Arab and Islamic states must immediately intervene militarily, and that "the Zionist enemy" must be "besieged at land, on sea, and in the air," by closing waterways and airspace in Arab and Islamic states. It further calls to "supply the resistance militarily, financially, and legally." Announcing it obligatory to urgently form an "Islamic military alliance to protect the ummah and repel the aggressors," the fatwa declares normalizing relations with the "Zionist enemy" forbidden by shari'a, forbids providing Israel with petroleum or natural gas, and calls to reconsider the peace agreements which some Arab states have signed with the "occupying entity." Also obligatory is to practice "financial jihad to support our brothers in Gaza" and to open crossings into Gaza. It urges members of the Muslim diaspora in the U.S. to pressure President Donald Trump to "fulfil his campaign promises of stopping the aggression and bringing peace."
In October 2023, Muntada Al-'Ulama' [The Islamic Scholars' Forum], an international body of Islamist and Salafi clerics, issued a fatwa declaring jihad against Israel to be obligatory for all Muslims and expressing support for Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups involved in fighting the Jewish state. The first signatory was Mauritanian-born IUMS member Sheikh Muhammad Al-Hasan Ould Diddo. [3]

The clashes resulted in over 1,400 deaths, mostly among Alawite civilians. In response, al-Sharaa ordered an investigation that named nearly 300 individuals for prosecution.

Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) Steps Up Attacks Against Pakistani Army, Claims 302 Operations Against Pakistani Security Forces In First Half Of 2025
From July 9 to 11, 2025, the Balochistan Liberation Front (BLF) – one of the leading Baloch groups fighting for the independence of Balochistan from Pakistan – executed a major operation against the Pakistani security forces, according to a press statement.[1] This follows another BLF report on July 5 in which the group claimed to have carried out 302 operations against Pakistani security forces during the first six months of the year.[2] During the three-day operation, codenamed Baam, on July 9-11, the BLF fighters launched 84 coordinated attacks in various parts of Balochistan. In a statement released on the evening of July 11, BLF spokesperson Major Gwahram Baloch said the group carried out the attacks on military personnel and intelligence operatives, killing more than 50 members of Pakistani army and the Frontier Corps, a paramilitary force.[3] Fifty-one security personnel were also wounded and nine intelligence officials were killed in the operation, Major Gwahram Baloch said, announcing the end of the three-day operation. "Through the operation, the BLF has conveyed the occupier state of Pakistan that the days of its forceful occupation and neocolonial looting and plunder are over," he added.[4] A press statement released by Aashob, the media arm of BLF "The occupier state [of Pakistan] can neither establish its writ through force, violence, crimes and oppression, nor can it deceive the Baloch nation through a policy of conspiracy, divide, and rule, treacherous propagation of Islamic brotherhood and wellbeing, fake democracy and a so-called parliamentary labyrinth," the BLF spokesman said.[5] Major Gwahram Baloch, in reference to the rulers and officials from the politically influential state of Punjab who make major decisions about the Baloch people, added: "We make it clear to the occupier state of Pakistan and Punjabi rulers that Balochistan will no longer remain the bird that lays 'golden eggs.' Rather, the Punjabi effort to continue the occupation on Balochistan will only cause fire and blood..."[6] Earlier, on July 5, BLF released an infographic detailing operations executed by its fighters between January and June 2025. The group said it conducted 302 operations, killing over 221 and injuring more than 148 members of the Pakistani security forces during the six-month period.[7] According to the report shared on X, BLF fighters seized more than 131 weapons, capturing over 17 posts belonging to the Levies and the paramilitary Frontier Corps (FC) during the six-month period.[8] They also destroyed or damaged more than 88 vehicles in various attacks, according to the infographics. The BLF claimed that its fighters destroyed 17 mobile towers, disrupting mobile networks and communication systems in the region. According to the report, the BLF destroyed 16 surveillance or security cameras and captured more than 15 personnel from the Pakistani forces. It also established more than 19 road blocks and checkpoints and carried out more than 27 IED and grenade attacks during the six-month period. 'Iran has been acting very badly. They were decimated. Their nuclear capability - which could have happened within three or four weeks - was decimated. It's been obliterated. The Atomic Energy Commission said the place is just decimated,' Trump told Rudaw during a press briefing. US strikes hit Iran's three main nuclear sites last month. Trump has repeatedly said that the attacks 'obliterated' the sites but Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has claimed that Trump has exaggerated the destruction. Washington on June 24 brokered a ceasefire to the 12-day war between Israel and Iran. Iran and the US had held five rounds of Oman-mediated indirect nuclear talks before Israel attacked the Islamic republic, which effectively ended the negotiations, especially after Trump joined in striking Iran. 'Now, they can start again, but they'd have to start on different sites because they were hit. I tell you what, the job these pilots did with their B-2 bombers - those unbelievable machines - they traveled 36 hours without stop, and they hit every single target... we shot 30 rockets from submarines that were hundreds of miles away, and they hit every target.' added the US president. 'So they can start again, but they haven't been saying the right thing. I will say, Iran has not been saying the right thing. They have not been speaking nicely, and they should be,' he noted. Under a 2015 nuclear deal with world powers - formally known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) - Iran agreed to curb its nuclear enrichment program in exchange for much-needed relief from crippling sanctions. Iranian foreign minister said earlier this month that 'maybe the current administration doesn't like that, but we can come to a similar deal, a better deal than that.'
