Usher CANCELS Australia tour: Fans heartbroken as singer axes shows with 'no explanation'

Daily Mail11 hours ago
Usher has cancelled his upcoming Australia tour scheduled for November and December.
The multi-platinum artist had planned to bring his globetrotting Past Present Future tour Down Under for 12 shows - six at Melbourne 's Rod Laver Arena and six at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney.
However, fans were left heartbroken on Friday to find an email from Ticketek announcing the string of shows Down Under would not go ahead, with no explanation why.
'The promoter of USHER's Australian Tour regrets to advise that the scheduled November/December shows, will no longer be proceeding,' the email read.
'All purchased tickets will receive a full refund.'

The tour would have been Usher's first headlining tour Down Under in more than a decade.
His last headlining run was back in 2011, on his OMG tour.
The singer was last in the country back in 2018, performing alongside the likes of Salt-N-Pepa, T-Pain and Naughty By Nature for the RNB Fridays Live tour.
Daily Mail Australia has contacted promoter Live Nation for comment.
Usher's tour, which kicked off in the US back in August last year, has since jetted to Europe and the UK.
Usher took to Instagram in May to make the announcement, sharing a compilation video of some of the best tour moments.
Fans were quick to express their excitement over the announcement with the likes of, 'I'm so excited, I'm headed to Australia'.
Others, who had already witnessed the tour first-hand, admitted how excited they were for Australian fans.
However, fans were left heartbroken on Friday to find an email from Ticketek announcing the string of shows Down Under will not go ahead, with no explanation why
'They in for a treat,' one fan wrote.
'A time was HAD at his London show I had an amazing time!'
However, many were singing a different tune when tickets went on sale, with fans taking to social media to complain about the sky-high ticket prices.
Triggering the outrage was a video shared to TikTok which revealed that Usher's 'Ultimate Meet and Greet VIP Lounge Experience' would set back concertgoers an eye-watering $2792.85.
'That's almost $3000! What the actual eff,' TikTokker Jacinda Chenelle said in her clip.
'For context, I have been with Taylor Swift and hung out with her backstage on multiple tours over the years.
'And do you know how much she charges? Zero dollars. Come on, almost $3,000 Australian. Usher babes you're not in your prime anymore.'
For Taylor Swift's Australian Eras Tour in 2024, VIP packages ranged from $349.99 to $1249.90, depending on the included benefits and did not include meet and greet opportunities.
However, the pop singer does not usually offer paid meet and greets at her concerts and instead has her team select fans from the crowd to meet her backstage after the show.
More than 100 TikTok users commented on the post, many of them disgruntled Usher fans.
'This is absolutely ridiculous but I would very much pay this for Billie Eilish,' complained one person on the thread.
'That's absolutely insane,' said another fan, who added, 'I've been a fan since day one and I wouldn't even pay that to see him.'
'One would think for that price you'd get to spend a night with him,' joked another.
The Ultimate VIP Experience was to include one reserved seat ticket, an individual meet and greet, a photo opportunity and an invitation to a 90-minute pre-show VIP lounge.
A welcome cocktail was also included, as well as complimentary beer, wine, soft drink and light canapés.
One fan also complained about the cost of the cheaper tickets for Usher's shows in Australia.
'The prices for the tour in general is absolutely ridiculous, I was going to take my mum but 600+ for two people is absurd,' they said.
Usher's promoters were offering a wide range of tickets, including $530.05 for premium reserve seating and $203.80 for B reserve seating.
Other ticket prices, detailed on the Ticketek website, included a seat for $285.40 or $224.20.

Dancing With The Stars shock elimination as beloved TV star becomes the second celebrity booted from the ballroom

Another celebrity has twirled off the Dancing With The Stars dance floor for good. In a surprise twist, 7News Melbourne presenter Karina Carvalho was sent packing during Sunday night's episode, becoming the second contestant to be eliminated from the hit Channel Seven competition. Despite putting her best foot forward alongside professional partner Andrey Gorbunov with a sizzling salsa, the judges weren't completely sold. Karina showed clear improvement from her first performance, with judge Sharna Burgess applauding her transformation, while Helen Richey called her efforts 'impressive'. But Craig Revel Horwood, never one to hold back, wanted to see 'more hip action', and it wasn't enough to keep her safe from elimination. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. Following her shock exit, Karina paid tribute to her dance partner, telling the audience: 'Andrey is not just a fantastic, highly qualified dancer, he's such a great teacher and he's so patient and he's put together the most beautiful choreography for us.' It was a tough night overall, as the second group of celebrities hit the floor for their round-two routines - each hoping to avoid the dreaded chop. Opening the show was Home and Away actor Kyle Shilling, who took on an emotional Viennese waltz with Lily Cornish. While Craig said it felt more like a 'contemporary freestyle', he still declared it 'absolutely amazing'. But not all feedback was glowing - Helen Richey urged Kyle to work on his ballroom frame, while Sharna advised him to 'learn how to lead'. Meanwhile, all eyes were on Mia Fevola, who stole the night with a heartfelt Viennese waltz danced to the same track her mother Alex performed to years earlier. Judges were visibly moved, with Mark Wilson calling the performance 'flawless', Craig describing it as 'absolutely gorgeous' and Sharna urging Mia to believe in herself. Shaun Micallef brought his signature wit and theatrical flair to a foxtrot with Ash-Leigh Hunter. While some judges were charmed, Craig called it 'smoke and mirrors' and accused him of using facial expressions to 'mask all the terrible technique'. Helen, however, loved 'Mr Suave' and admired his respect for the genre. Osher Günsberg returned with a jive that had the judges doing a double take. 'You must have a twin,' joked Helen, praising the dramatic improvement. Sharna said his performance skills were so strong, they masked any remaining issues with his footwork - while Craig and Mark agreed he had finally come alive on the dancefloor. Closing the night was comedian Felicity Ward with partner Aric Yegudkin, who delivered a cha-cha-cha full of sass and precision. Judges couldn't get enough - with Helen calling her a 'natural dancer', Craig praising her rhythm, and Sharna confidently predicting: 'We're gonna see you right at the end of this competition.' But it was Mia Fevola and Gustavo Viglio who topped the leaderboard with 34 points -a clear standout among the stars.

He said: "Here there are snakes, spiders and crocodiles but it is safer here than lots of other parts of the world when you hear about terrorist attacks. "I love it here because I have my safety, no matter how old and how tough you are you still want to go to bed knowing you are not going to be attacked.' Inside Julian McMahon's colourful love life - from a whirlwind marriage to Dannii Minogue to his private romance with wife Kelly Paniagua - following the actor's death at age 56

Julian McMahon's tragic death this week has prompted fans across the globe to reflect on the actor's prolific career - and his dramatic relationship history. The Nip/Tuck and Charmed star died at age 56 following a private battle with cancer, his heartbroken wife Kelly Paniagua confirmed in an emotional statement on July 4. 'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans,' she said. 'His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible… We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy.' As tributes pour in for the Australian actor, Daily Mail Australia takes a look back at the women who played key roles in his life - from high-profile marriages to low-key romances that rarely made headlines. From A-list scandals and red carpet mishaps to exclusive pictures and viral moments, subscribe to the DailyMail's new showbiz newsletter to stay in the loop. A short-lived union with pop princess Dannii Minogue Before his Hollywood breakthrough, McMahon made headlines in his native Australia when he married Home and Away co-star and singer Dannii Minogue. The pair, who met on the set of the hit soap in the late '80s, wed in 1994 during what was dubbed a 'fairytale' showbiz wedding. But behind the scenes, things were far from picture perfect. Their marriage lasted just 18 months, torn apart by distance, pressure and reported family tensions. Minogue later revealed in an interview that McMahon's mother - late Lady Sonia McMahon, the glamorous wife of former Prime Minister Sir William McMahon - never approved of their union. 'There was no relationship, she wouldn't speak to me, I wasn't allowed to be near her in the house, she said she wasn't coming to the wedding. We just had no idea how to handle it - we were just trying to,' Minogue candidly told No Filter. The singer, now 52, also claimed the constant travel between the UK and US to keep the relationship alive left her in debt. 'I not only ran out of money - I was in debt,' she said. 'It was a huge struggle emotionally, physically, mentally, financially.' Second marriage ends in heartbreak - and scandal In 1999, Julian tied the knot with American actress Brooke Burns, best known for her role in Baywatch. The couple welcomed daughter Madison the following year, but their marriage collapsed in 2001. Burns, 46, honoured her late ex-husband with a touching Instagram tribute following news of his passing, sharing a sweet photo of Julian with their daughter and writing simply: 'Rest in peace .' But their relationship wasn't without controversy. During their short-lived union, McMahon was rumoured to have had a fling with his Charmed co-star Shannen Doherty. The timing of the alleged romance reportedly overlapped with the final season of Doherty's role on the show in 2000-2001 - and Burns reportedly discovered the affair in the tabloids. 'It was the straw that broke the camel's back,' Burns once told Nicki Swift, later admitting, 'He got carried away by all the Los Angeles hoopla.' A private love with wife Kelly Paniagua After two high-profile breakups, McMahon kept his next relationship largely out of the spotlight. He began dating author and model Kelly Paniagua in 2003, and after more than a decade together, the pair married in a quiet ceremony at Lake Tahoe in 2014. According to reports at the time, the actor popped the question during a romantic trip to Melbourne in late 2013. Unlike his past marriages, Julian and Kelly kept their love life intensely private, rarely appearing together at events or discussing their relationship in interviews. In her heart-wrenching statement, Kelly described Julian as her 'beloved husband,' saying he 'died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.' 'He was truly one of a kind,' she added. It was Kelly who confirmed his death on Friday. She gave a statement to Deadline which read: 'With an open heart, I wish to share with the world that my beloved husband, Julian McMahon, died peacefully this week after a valiant effort to overcome cancer.' Kelly - whom he married in 2014 - continued by expressing the love Julian had for his fans and those around him and what being an actor meant to him during his life. She continued: 'Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans. His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible. 'We ask for support during this time to allow our family to grieve in privacy. And we wish for all of those to whom Julian brought joy, to continue to find joy in life. We are grateful for the memories.' Julian McMahon was at the height of his acting career just one month before he died, aged 56, this week. The former Home and Away star passed away after a secret battle with cancer, his wife, Kelly Paniagua, confirmed on Friday. Julian made a triumphant return to the screen, starring alongside Nicholas Cage in the Stan original film The Surfer. He shone as a surf gang leader in the new movie, which was released in May. He delivered a searing performance as Scally, a charismatic and menacing guru-like figure who leads a group of surfers and acts as a local authority in Luna Bay.
