Katseye Rises Higher Than Ever With A Brand New Single
After being created on the reality series Dream Academy, Katseye, which was formed as a joint effort between K-pop giant Hybe and Geffen Records, released its first EP SIS (Soft Is Strong) in the summer of 2024. The girl group, which includes members from several different nations but which is based in Los Angeles, made fans wait almost a year before sharing its new short project, Beautiful Chaos. The EP arrived on June 27, and its second single, which was pushed just days before the project dropped in full, brings the still-rising band to new heights on several rankings in the United Kingdom, where the musicians have found a solid fanbase.
Katseye's Single 'Gabriella' Debuts on the U.K. Charts
'Gabriella' debuts on a pair of tallies in the U.K. The Beautiful Chaos track enters the Official Streaming chart at No. 64.
The song almost breaks into the top 40 on the Official Singles ranking, which lists the biggest tunes of any style or language in the country by blending several forms of consumption. On that roster, it opens at No. 42.
In both instances, 'Gabriella' brings Katseye to a never-before-seen peak, although the girl group is still just getting started in the U.K.
'Gnarly' Debuted Only a Few Weeks Ago
The band has only landed a pair of hits on those rankings, as its debut smash in that nation, 'Gnarly,' arrived only a few weeks ago. 'Gnarly' peaked at No. 52 on the Official Singles chart and No. 93 on the Official Streaming list, barely becoming one of the 100 most played cuts throughout the U.K. for just one frame.
Both of Katseye's Singles Chart Together
Katseye's entire charting discography, which at the moment is made up of only 'Gabriella' and 'Gnarly,' appear together on the Official Singles list as 'Gabriella' opens at No. 42 and 'Gnarly' rises nine spaces to No. 74 in its eighth week on that ranking.
Beautiful Chaos May Be a Big Win for Katseye
There is a very good chance that Beautiful Chaos will also bring Katseye to new peaks when it reaches the U.K. charts in a few days. SIS (Soft Is Strong) stalled just underneath the top 40 last summer when it arrived, and as the new EP includes two hit songs, the girl group may be headed for some special highs.

Liam Gallagher Apologizes for Using Racial Slur, Says ‘It Wasn't Intentional'
Liam Gallagher has apologized after using a racial slur in a post on X, telling fans Tuesday that he meant no harm. 'Sorry if I offended anyone with my tweet before it wasn't intentional,' Gallagher wrote on the platform. 'you know I love you all and I do not discriminate.' More from Billboard Liam Gallagher Praises Fan Kicked Off Stage at Green Day Concert for Playing Oasis Hit 'It Was Horrific': Radar Festival Speaks Out on Bob Vylan Cancellation Robert Plant Pays Tribute to Liverpool's Diogo Jota Following Death at 28 The rocker signed the post, 'peace and love LG x.' In the since-deleted, one-word reply, the Oasis singer used a term that is highly offensive to Asian people. One fan replied to the post, 'liam you can't say that,' to which Gallagher simply replied at the time, 'Why.' Before apologizing, Gallagher had also replied to a fan telling him he would be canceled over the offensive post with, 'Whatever.' The offensive post casts a slight shadow over Oasis' upcoming reunion, which has been more than 15 years in the making. After putting an end to their yearslong feud, Liam and brother Noel Gallagher have gotten the band back together for a global tour, kicking off Friday with a show at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. In the weeks leading up to the kickoff show, Liam has teased that the group is sounding better than ever. 'We have LIFT OFF Rastas sounded f—ing FILTHY,' he wrote on X during rehearsals in June. In lighter news about Gallagher's recent X activity, the musician recently praised a fan who hilariously trolled Billie Joe Armstrong at a recent Green Day show. After the prankster joined the band onstage under the pretense of stepping in to play 'Good Riddance' on guitar but instead started strumming 'Wonderwall' and was swiftly kicked offstage, Gallagher replied to a video of the incident, 'Best song of the night.' ‘It Was Horrific': Radar Festival Speaks Out on Bob Vylan Cancellation
Manchester's Radar Festival says it was left with no choice but to pull Bob Vylan from its 2025 lineup, following the punk-rap duo's controversial set at Glastonbury Festival. The pair sparked headlines during their performance on Glastonbury's West Holts Stage, leading chants of 'Death to the IDF' while also calling out the BBC, the US and UK governments, and more. Frontman Bobby Vylan told the crowd, 'We are the violent punks, because sometimes you gotta get your message across with violence because that is the only language some people speak, unfortunately.' More from Billboard Robert Plant Pays Tribute to Liverpool's Diogo Jota Following Death at 28 Boldy James Finally Explains Why Amanda Seales Claims He Owes Her Money Jim Jones Says He Didn't Realize How Many People Loved Nas Until Viral Comparison: 'I'm Watching People Go Absolutely Batsh- Crazy' The backlash was swift. Glastonbury organizers issued a statement condemning the chants, saying they 'very much crossed a line' and that there is 'no place at Glastonbury for anti-Semitism, hate speech or incitement to violence.' Radar initially confirmed Bob Vylan's removal with a brief statement on July 2: 'Bob Vylan will not be appearing at RADAR Festival this weekend.' But in a new interview on the Two Promoters One Pod podcast, organizer Catherine Jackson-Smith shared that the festival did not want to cancel the group's headline set. 'It was categorically one of the most horrendous professional discussions I've ever had,' she said. 'I cannot express clearly enough that I wanted Bob Vylan to perform at our festival. But this was not our decision.' According to Jackson-Smith, Radar was caught between behind-the-scenes conversations involving the venue, its co-owners AMG and Live Nation, and local authorities. The decision to drop Bob Vylan was presented as an ultimatum: either cancel the band's appearance or risk losing the entire Saturday program. 'There was not an option for Bob Vylan to step on stage on Saturday; that became apparent at the beginning of the week,' Jackson-Smith explained. 'If we continued with Bob Vylan as our headliner, we wouldn't have the festival happening on Saturday.' The festival, which runs July 4-6 at Manchester's O2 Victoria Warehouse, is independently operated by Jackson-Smith and co-founder Joe James. Canceling the band prevented what she described as a 'precarious situation' that could have impacted 41 other acts and the viability of the event itself. Adding to the complexity, Bob Vylan's agency dropped the band in the wake of the Glastonbury controversy, forcing Jackson-Smith to have a direct conversation with the group about their removal. 'It was horrific as a conversation,' she said. 'Bob Vylan knew that we didn't want to pull them.' In response, Bob Vylan posted on social media: 'Silence is not an option. We will be fine, the people of Palestine are hurting. Manchester, we will be back.' The Glastonbury performance continues to ripple across the industry. Alongside being dropped from Radar, Bob Vylan has reportedly been removed from the Kave Festival in France and a Gogol Bordello support slot in Cologne. Their US visas have also been revoked, and they are under criminal investigation in connection to the remarks. Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy criticized the BBC for airing the performance, calling it 'a problem of leadership,' while US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau described Bob Vylan's remarks as 'a hateful tirade.' In a follow-up statement, Bob Vylan said they are 'not for the death of Jews or Arabs or any other race or group' and called for 'the dismantling of a violent military machine.' Radar Festival has yet to announce a replacement headliner for Saturday. Jackson-Smith confirmed efforts are underway but acknowledged the difficulty of securing a last-minute act. 'We might end up with someone that has no discernible political opinion at this point because if they're free and they can play on Saturday, maybe that's the only criteria,' she said. Radar Festival told Billboard they will be making no further comment on the matter. The festival runs July 4-6 at Manchester's O2 Victoria Warehouse.
