Former Eric Musselman players Jaylin Williams, Isaiah Joe win NBA title with OKC Thunder

USA Today25-06-2025
On Sunday evening, the Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of the NBA Finals to claim the championship. Unlike last year, when Drew Peterson got a ring with the Boston Celtics, no USC players were on the title-winning team this season. However, two of head coach Eric Musselman's former players did win: Jaylin Williams and Isaiah Joe.
Williams (not to be confused with Thunder teammate Jalen Williams) played one season for Musselman at Arkansas in 2021-2022. He was selected by Oklahoma City in the second round of the 2022 NBA Draft, and primarily serves as a bench player for the team, and played just 14 minutes during the Finals—the majority of which coming in a Game 6 blowout loss.
Joe played for Musselman with the Razorbacks from 2018-2020. A second round pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2020 NBA Draft, he joined the Thunder prior to the 2022-2023 season, and has spent the past three years with the team. A key bench player for Oklahoma City, Joe saw action in five of the seven NBA Finals games.
Musselman has now produced four NBA champions in the past four seasons, as Williams and Joe join Jordan Walsh with the Celtics last year and Moses Moody with the Golden State Warriors in 2022. Having had success developing players during his time at Arkansas, the head coach is looking to continue doing so with the Trojans.

Prince George and Princess Charlotte Make Surprise Appearance with Kate Middleton and Prince William at Wimbledon

Kate Middleton returned to Wimbledon on day 14 of the tennis tournament to see the men's singles finals with Prince William, Prince George and Princess Charlotte George and Charlotte have both attended Wimbledon before, but their little brother, Prince Louis, has yet to make his Wimbledon debut In 2025, Kate attended the men's singles finals with Princess Charlotte in a rare appearance amid her cancer treatmentKate Middleton is back at Wimbledon for the final day of competition, and she brought her family! After attending the ladies' singles final at the tennis tournament on July 12, the Princess of Wales returned the following day to see Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner compete for the top spot. This time, Prince William joined his wife at the sporting event with their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. Prince George, who turns 12 on July 22, and Princess Charlotte, 10, have both attended Wimbledon twice before. However, their 7-year-old brother, Prince Louis, has yet to make his Wimbledon debut. Although the Royal Box at Centre Court is typically off-limits to kids given the high demand for a spot and limited 74 seats, exceptions are made for royal children. Prince George first attended Wimbledon 2022 alongside his parents, who are regulars at the sporting event, where Kate regularly awards trophies to Wimbledon winners as the patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club. There, the young royal got the chance to hold Novak Djokovic's first-place trophy following the match! George returned to Wimbledon the following year, cheering from the stands alongside his parents and Princess Charlotte (in her debut appearance at the tennis tournament!) as Carlos Alcaraz won the men's singles final against Djokovic. Last year, Wimbledon was a girls' day out for Princess Kate, Princess Charlotte and Pippa Middleton, as the Princess of Wales made a rare outing amid her cancer treatment. Although Prince George missed last year's tennis tournament, he's no stranger to the sports stands. He often joins dad Prince William at soccer games, including a father-son outing on April 15 to cheer on Aston Villa. Can't get enough of PEOPLE's Royals coverage? to get the latest updates on Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and more! Princess Kate, 43, has watched the tournament in person almost every year since she married Prince William in 2011. There were a few notable exceptions, however: doctors advised against her attending in 2013 when she was "heavily pregnant" with Prince George, and Wimbledon was canceled in 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Prince William, 43, also had a special reason for attending Wimbledon this year. Notpla, an organization that makes biodegradable packaging from seaweed and won one of the Prince of Wales' Earthshot Prizes, partnered with Wimbledon for both the food packaging and a spoon made from seaweed. Despite announcing she was in remission in January, Kate is continuing to balance royal duties with recovery. Earlier this month, the Princess of Wales opened up about the "really difficult" stage that follows the completion of cancer treatment. "You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment. Treatment's done, then it's like, 'I can crack on, get back to normal,' " she said during a July 2 visit to Colchester Hospital. 'But actually, the phase afterwards is really, really difficult." "You have to find your new normal and that takes it's a rollercoaster, it's not smooth, like you expect it to be," Kate added. "But the reality is you go through hard times." Tony Allen says the Boston Celtics would have beat the Lakers in '10 if Perk was healthy

Tony Allen still thinks that the Boston Celtics would have beaten the Los Angeles Lakers in the 2010 NBA Finals if former Boston big man Kendrick Perkins was healthy. Speaking on an episode of fellow Boston alum Jeff Teague's "Club 520" podcast, the Grindfather took some time to look back on that fateful series between the league's two oldest and greatest rivals in their battle for historic supremacy. The Ubuntu era Celtics' last, best shot at an NBA title and dynasty was ultimately foiled by Perk's bad knee and a Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol-led Lakers squad Allen had a front row seat for. Boston would of course have a few more deep postseason runs, but this was as close as they came to hanging a second banner with that core -- and Allen thinks they just missed doing so. Take a look at the clip embedded below to hear what he and Teague had to say about that snapshot in Celtics history for yourself.
