The crew, including therapists Danielle Harel, Celeste Hirschman and the experts tasked with helping the cast let loose, were all under strict rules not to get any thrills of their own.

Viral crowd video from Oasis gig sparks fan fury

Irish fans are counting down the days to Oasis' two sold-out shows at Croke Park on August 16th and 17th, 2025 – part of the band's long-awaited reunion tour and their first time on stage together in 16 years. But while the shows are already being hailed as legendary, not every moment has struck the right chord with fans. A now-viral clip from night two in Cardiff has ignited a fierce debate online after a concertgoer shared footage of dozens of fans sitting down during Cast No Shadow. Scanning the seated crowd, she captioned her video: 'Why is everyone sat down – this is who you lost tickets to btw'. @laurabradshxw Oasis Cardiff N2 you were CLASS #oasis #cardiff #principalitystadium #liamgallagher #noelgallagher #oasisreunion #oasisliveforever #castnoshadow #concert #livemusic #fyp ♬ original sound – laurabradshxw The backlash was instant, and divided. Some were quick to express frustration: 'Why is no one singing!' one person said while another fan commented: 'I wasn't sat down. Stood up singing loud and proud as everyone should have been for the struggle it was to get tickets.' Another fumed: 'Real fans of Oasis missed out so people can come and sit down at a concert.' Pic: AFP STRINGER/AFP via Getty Images However, plenty of others jumped to the crowd's defence: One argued: 'Because they're original fans and our backs are shot to pieces.' Another said: 'I would be seating too – appreciating and taking it all in. Standing and jumping about isn't the only way to enjoy it.' And that wasn't the only crowd controversy in Cardiff. Another fan moment went viral from the opening night, this time involving the use of Shazam. As Richard Ashcroft took to the stage and began Bitter Sweet Symphony, one woman in the crowd was caught using her phone to identify the 1997 Britpop anthem – a song widely considered one of the most iconic of the era. Pic: AFP STRINGER/AFP via Getty Images Online, fans were stunned, one said: 'Imagine not knowing the greatest song of all time,' while another fumed: 'Seriously! I couldn't get a ticket because of these people.' Despite the viral moments and online spats, one thing isn't up for debate amongst fans, the band certainly delivered. Oasis will take to Dublin on August 16 and 17 for two sold-out nights in Croke Park, before heading to North America, South America, and back to Wembley before performing in South Korea and Japan. They'll then head to Australia, before wrapping up the tour in São Paolo, Brazil, in November.

‘We will beat British Government for second time in court' – Kneecap at largest ever gig

The rap trio played in Finsbury Park, London, on Saturday evening as a supporting act for Fontaines D.C Next month will see 'the second time Kneecap have beat the British Government in court', the Irish rap trio said at their largest gig to date. The 45,000-strong crowd in Finsbury Park, London watched them walk on in front of a screen that said 'Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people'. They were supporting Irish band Fontaines DC, whose front man Grian Chatten joined to perform their collaboration Better Way To Live. People echoed the Belfast group's chants when they repeated the 'f*** Keir Starmer' and 'you're just a s*** Jeremy Corbyn' comments made at Glastonbury the previous weekend. Liam Óg O hAnnaidh, who performs as Mo Chara, appeared at Westminster Magistrates' Court earlier this month charged with a terror offence and will return next month. Fellow member Naoise Ó Cairealláin, who uses the stage name Móglaí Bap, said 'if anyone's free on the 20th of August, you wanna go to the court and support Mo Chara' before shouting 'free Mo Chara, free, free Mo Chara'. Wearing a keffiyeh, Ó hAnnaidh responded: 'I appreciate it, the 20th of August is going to be the second time Kneecap have beat the British Government in court – in their own court, on their own terms, and we're going to beat them for the second time. 'I tell you what, there is nothing like embarrassing the British Government.' Last year Kneecap won a discrimination challenge over a decision by former business secretary Kemi Badenoch to refuse them a £14,250 funding award. The UK Government conceded it was 'unlawful' after the band launched legal action claiming the decision to refuse the grant discriminated against them on grounds of nationality and political opinion. It was agreed that the £14,250 sum would be paid by the Government to the group. During the performance the group intermittently broke off the mosh pits and raucous crowd by addressing the war in Gaza, which is a recurring theme of their shows. The crowd in Finsbury Park (Jeff Moore/PA) Ó hAnnaidh said: 'It's usually around this point of the gig that we decide to talk about what's happening in Palestine. 'I understand that it's almost inhumane that I'm thinking of new things to say on stage during a genocide, for sound bites. 'It's beyond words now, like, we always used to say obviously they're being bombed from the skies with nowhere to go, but it's beyond that now. 'They've been being starved for a few months on end, and not only that, the areas that they have set up, to collect aid and food, have turned into killing fields and they're killing hundreds a day trying to collect food.' He continued: 'It's beyond words, but again, we played in Plymouth last night to 750 people and we did the same thing, so it doesn't matter how big or small our audience is, Kneecap will always use the platform for talking about this.' Ó Cairealláin had said earlier in the show: 'They can try and silence us, they can try and stop us, but we're not going to stop talking about Palestine – as long as there's a genocide happening in Palestine we're going to keep talking about it and yous are going to keep talking about it, and they can't stop us.' Liam Og O Hannaidh (Jeff Moore/PA) 'Kneecap is not the story. Genocide in Gaza is' – Belfast rappers release new video demanding action against Israel The UN human rights office has recorded 613 killings near humanitarian convoys and at aid distribution points in Gaza run by an Israeli-backed American organisation since it began operations in late May. On Friday its spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said the rights office was not able to attribute responsibility for the killings, but 'it is clear that the Israeli military has shelled and shot at Palestinians trying to reach the distribution points' operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF). The GHF has denied any serious injuries or deaths on its sites and says shootings outside their immediate vicinity are under the purview of Israel's military. The Israeli military has said previously it fires warning shots to control crowds or at Palestinians who approach its troops.

‘Millionaire Castaway' David Glasheen dead at 81 after starring in Channel 5 island doc with Ben Fogle

Former millionaire David Glasheen , who moved to a desert island after losing his fortune, has died aged 81. The ex-stockbroker had been living alone on the idyllic Restoration Island, located off North East Australia, since 1997 after losing his fortune in the stock exchange crash 10 years prior. 4 Former millionaire David Glasheen has died 4 David Glasheen had been living on a desert island for over 20 years 4 David featured in Ben Fogle's Channel 5 documentary and showed his stripped back lifestyle Credit: Instagram / benfogle 4 The former millionaire lived in a wooden shack and has a limited internet connection David featured in Ben Fogle's Channel 5 documentary and showed his stripped back lifestyle, with Australian media hailing him as a "national treasure" and "global icon". The ex-gold mining tycoon and property magnate, who at his most successful was worth an estimated £22million, lived in a wooden beach shack with only his loyal dog Polly for company. But despite having limited electricity, fresh water and facing regular battles against deadly wildlife, the bearded exile insisted he felt safe on the island in an interview a few years ago. He said: "Here there are snakes, spiders and crocodiles but it is safer here than lots of other parts of the world when you hear about terrorist attacks. "I love it here because I have my safety, no matter how old and how tough you are you still want to go to bed knowing you are not going to be attacked.' Self-sufficient David, who was born in Sydney's Northern Beaches to an Irish family, added at the time that there was nowhere he'd rather be than on his "heaven on earth" natural paradise. He said: "I want to die here – where else would I? This is my heaven on earth. "When I came here I was sick of money – money is what makes people sick – and my marriage had broken apart. "I would love to find a partner who wants to live with me here, or a couple of ladies who want to come and visit a couple of times a year. "The elements and wildlife are dangerous – if you do get into trouble here, you are pretty much dead. The saltwater crocodiles are beautiful animals – they are dangerous but I love them.' Broadcaster Ben shared the tragic news on social media. The tribute read: "So sad to hear that Dave Glasheen has passed away. "He was one of the first Wildmen I visited for New Lives in the Wild. "He really was one of a kind and I feel so fortunate to have met him a few times and spent time with him on his little Australian paradise. "Dave was 81 and lived the richest life I know. "Dave found true happiness when he lost his millions and reconnected with nature. "Rest in Peace Dave." Born to a wealthy family originally from County Cork, Ireland, David was educated at a private boarding school and began a career as a businessman after university. He developed a gold mining company in Papua New Guinea but lost an estimated £5.5 million in the 12 months after the October 1987 global financial crash. Soon after David's wife left him and when he met a new girlfriend who told him she wanted to run away to a desert island he began searching for such a place. He first visited the 100-acre Restoration Island – located almost 621 miles from Cairns, the nearest city, in 1993 before moving for good when he secured a 50-year lease from the state of Queensland in May 1997. And though his then-partner decided life as a hunter gatherer was not for her, David made the exiled existence his own despite legal wrangles over the years. The bearded castaway entertained backpackers, tourists and even Russell Crowe to his isolated oasis. Read more on the Irish Sun An internet connection allowed David to follow the news, keep in touch with the outside world via social media and watch Britain's Got Talent videos on YouTube - once a guilty pleasure of his. But he has no direct electricity – relying on solar panels and a backup generator – and limited running water was only installed a few years ago.
