A musician was forced to take drastic action after a woman gate-crashed a recent gig, in an incident caught on camera.
Aaron W. Evans has been performing in bars and other live venues across the United Kingdom for over a decade. "I turned professional at the start of this year, and play 3-5 gigs a week, whether that be pubs, weddings, care homes or anything else in between," Evans told Newsweek.
Though it can be exhausting work, with often unsociable hours, the adrenaline rush Evans feels while on stage has never diminished.
"I love hearing people sing along," he said. "Nothing compares to playing a recognizable opening riff, or singing the first line of a huge track and hearing the collective reaction around the room. Nothing I've found in life beats that."
According to the American Psychological Association, music is capable of relieving some of the symptoms of depression and elevating mood. Research has shown that music can boost the brain's production of dopamine and serotonin, and also reduce cortisol levels.
Music can also lead to some undesirable outcomes, particularly when combined with alcohol. Evans discovered this during an incident he was able to capture on camera.
"I film all of my gigs," he said. "Mainly to extract good clips for social media and advertising, but also in the event that something does happen to me, or any of my equipment, I have sufficient video evidence to be able to claim damages through my public liability insurance."
On this particular occasion, he filmed a woman in the crowd who attempted to disrupt Evans's gig while he was singing a version of the Eurythmics hit "Sweet Dreams."
Up until that point, Evans said there was "no indication" that he would be in for a difficult set.

"I'm very used to groups of people enjoying themselves over a few drinks, and that night in question was immediately after the last Premier League game, so was busier than normal and rowdier too," he said.
"The lady in the video was in a group with a few other women, and weren't problematic in the slightest to begin with. They were singing along and enjoying themselves at their table."
Evans usually plays "Sweet Dreams" to finish his set and said that, as he got nearly halfway through the song, "nothing seemed out of the ordinary." As the video shows, that quickly changed, as the woman made her way over to where Evans was playing.
"She asked to use the microphone, and I shook my head to indicate I wasn't going to allow that," Evans said.
"She lingered by my side for a second and then began to dance, leaning into me as I was playing. After a few seconds, I realized she wasn't going to stop, so put a little distance between us to try and discourage her from touching me. She adjusted, and shifted her weight towards me, standing on my loop station."
Eager to avoid any "further risk" of damage to his equipment or even himself, Evans decided to cut the song short.
"She went back over to her friends and nothing further was said," Evans said. "One of her friends apologized to me through laughter as I made my way off stage."
Despite the disruption, Evans understands things like this can happen. "I suppose it's part and parcel of playing in pubs and bars where alcohol is readily available," he said.
Evans decided to share the video on his TikTok account, @aaronwevans, "in the hope of showing people that boundaries absolutely must be respected at all times."
"If one person sees the video and thinks twice before making their way into a musician's space, then it will have done what I intended for," he said.
It has certainly had a big impact, with 5.5 million views and counting.
Not all of the comments on the video have been supportive. "You should have let her sing. It's a pub and she was having a good time," one user said.
Though Evans has a "thick skin" to negative comments, he feels some crossed a line with "abhorrent" remarks about his appearance and abilities. His response to trolls is: "Be kind, be respectful, and make the world a happier place."

Security Camera Captures Exact Moment Woman 'Knew' About Foster Dog

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A woman's home security camera captured the exact moment she realized she needed to adopt her foster dog, and it's melted hearts online. TikTok user @yalcantara1023 shared the emotional video on social media on June 18, showing the precise moment it became clear that her dog was a foster fail. The footage shows her walking into the house after taking the dog out at 6 a.m., and he immediately gave her "the sweetest dog hug" as a thank you. The grateful rescue pup leapt up and was incredibly affectionate towards @yalcantara1023 for taking care of him. She was due to return him to the shelter that same morning, but after that heartfelt moment, there was no way @yalcantara1023, from California, could return him. That was exactly when she "knew [she] had to adopt" him. It's almost like the dog knew what was about to happen. TikTok user @yalcantara1023 realizing she wanted to adopt her foster dog, Moose. Internet users can't get enough of the precious moment, which was captured in its entirety by the Google Nest camera. The video has gone viral since it was shared online, leading to more than 1.3 million views and over 218,800 likes on TikTok at the time of writing. In the days after that clip went viral, @yalcantara1023 couldn't resist following it up with the home security footage of the moment she walked back into the house having just adopted her dog, Moose. Just like the first clip, the rescue dog jumped up and gave her another enormous hug. When someone signs up to foster a pet temporarily, but then realizes they couldn't possibly send them back, they might choose to adopt them permanently instead. That's known as a foster fail. While the idea of it being a failure holds negative connotations, research conducted by Michigan State University suggests that it could actually prove to be a positive force on the animal and their adopter. Indeed, the survey found that 60 percent of volunteers have adopted an animal they only intended to foster, and around half of them have kept one or two animals. As for the volunteers who have adopted a foster animal, they were found to be more satisfied with their experience, which may encourage them to continue their service. After the video of @yalcantara1023 realizing she had to adopt Moose went viral, it's gained over 1,300 comments from TikTok users who were left fighting back the tears. One comment reads: "OMG HE KNEW! Good for you to keep him." Another TikTok user wrote: "He held your hands with his little paws." Another person added: "Sometimes the dog picks you. You don't always get a choice." While one commenter replied: "He has no idea that moment changed your entire decision. He just wanted a cuddle." Pit Bull Becomes a Nanny to Rescue Kitten, Goes Viral—'Love at First Sight'

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The adorable bond between a pit bull and a rescue kitten has melted hearts online, leaving social-media users in awe of the undeniable love they share. The precious moment when Twiggles, the white American Staffordshire and pit bull mix, and the kitten bonded was shared on the dog's dedicated TikTok account (@twigglesaur). During the clip, the dog's owner sat with the small gray kitten named Taco on her lap, while Twiggles sat on the other side and just stared lovingly at the feline. The 2-year-old dog appeared so infatuated by the kitten that she stared lovingly and barely took her eyes off him. Alongside the sweet clip, the TikTok caption reads: "I suppose I can nanny kittens too." The video has gone viral since it was shared on June 20, generating over 474,000 views and more than 100,000 likes at the time of writing. From left: Twiggles the pit bull mix and Taco the rescue kitten lay with a person. @twigglesaur / TikTok There's no doubt Twiggles is taking her role as the nanny very seriously, as her owner has continued to share more clips of the inseparable duo spending time together. Throughout the many videos, Twiggles can be seen watching over Taco and following him around as his protector. Indeed, their owner, from San Francisco, California, even caught the duo cuddling up on the sofa together, as Taco curled in the crook of the dog's legs. Needless to say, internet users can't get enough of the bond they have quickly developed and the maternal instinct that Twiggles has displayed. Twiggles's owner found Taco during a walk, and she didn't hesitate to pick up the kitten and take him home to safety. Unfortunately, as the owner is allergic to cats, keeping him permanently isn't an option and she is searching for someone to adopt Taco. That might prove more difficult now after seeing the formidable friendship he has struck up with Twiggles. It is believed that Taco was around 3 to 4 weeks old when he was discovered, and he is said to be "very brave, super curious, and very adventurous." A pit bull and tiny kitten might not be the most conventional of friendships, but Twiggles and Taco don't seem to care about their size (and species) difference. The besties have certainly melted plenty of hearts online, leading to more than 110 comments on the viral TikTok video so far. One comment reads: "Best nanny ever." Another TikTok user wrote: "So sweet, she just wants love that baby." A third person added: "It's love at first sight." One commenter replied: "This is the beginning of a strong friendship and care." Golden Retriever Can't Hide That He Has Stolen Something, Internet Obsessed

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A TikTok video featuring a golden retriever's hilarious attempt to conceal a forbidden treasure has taken the internet by storm. The clip, which shows the dog giving its owner furtive side-eye while cautiously walking by captured the breed's endearing blend of innocence and mischief. Since it was posted, it has received over 348,000 views and over 36,000 likes. "pov [point of view]: you have a Golden Retriever that can't help but show you they have something they shouldn't," the pup's owner captioned the video. "Gotta love him though." The video resonated with countless golden retriever owners who instantly recognized the familiar "guilty" behavior. The dog's attempt at stealth sparked a wave of relatable comments from TikTok users, many of whom noted their own goldens exhibiting similar traits. "If I don't notice my Golden has gotten something he shouldn't have while I'm working from home, he makes sure to do a high-pitched whine to get my attention," one user said. Another wrote: "All goldens share the same brain." The phenomenon of golden retrievers self-reporting their mischief appears to be widespread. "Whenever we are at my parents' house and my mom questions if my dog is doing something in the other room, I always say, 'Don't worry, if so, she'll come show us,'" one person wrote. "If I don't notice my Golden has something he shouldn't come over and bop me with his nose and side eye me," another commented. Stock photo: A golden retriever looks guilty, wrapped in toilet paper. Stock photo: A golden retriever looks guilty, wrapped in toilet paper. Zheka-Boss/Getty Images What's So Unique About Goldens? These endearing behaviors are deeply rooted in the golden retriever's nature. A blog post by the American Kennel Club (AKC) said that golden retrievers "often stay young at heart," with their puppylike behavior lasting longer than other breeds. "They mature slowly and can be playful and downright silly into adulthood," the post read. This prolonged puppyhood seems obvious to many in the viral TikTok video. However, the AKC also highlighted two other key traits that might explain the dog's actions in the video: their love of food and their "mouthy" nature. "Golden Retrievers love to eat," the AKC said, adding that "they'll eat anything, from the dinner in their bowl to toys, paper and crayons. If it's out, it's fair game." Since goldens are prone to overeating, clued-up owners know to limit treats, measure food carefully and feed them on a schedule. Furthermore, golden retrievers are "naturally mouthy," meaning that they like to carry something in their mouth wherever they go—such as sticks, toys, clothes or "whatever else isn't tied down." The goldens' expressive eyes and attempts at food-related mischief only add to their charm, cementing their status as one of the most beloved and entertaining dog breeds online and off.
