A TikTok video featuring a golden retriever's hilarious attempt to conceal a forbidden treasure has taken the internet by storm.
The clip, which shows the dog giving its owner furtive side-eye while cautiously walking by captured the breed's endearing blend of innocence and mischief. Since it was posted, it has received over 348,000 views and over 36,000 likes.
"pov [point of view]: you have a Golden Retriever that can't help but show you they have something they shouldn't," the pup's owner captioned the video. "Gotta love him though."
The video resonated with countless golden retriever owners who instantly recognized the familiar "guilty" behavior. The dog's attempt at stealth sparked a wave of relatable comments from TikTok users, many of whom noted their own goldens exhibiting similar traits.
"If I don't notice my Golden has gotten something he shouldn't have while I'm working from home, he makes sure to do a high-pitched whine to get my attention," one user said. Another wrote: "All goldens share the same brain."
The phenomenon of golden retrievers self-reporting their mischief appears to be widespread.
"Whenever we are at my parents' house and my mom questions if my dog is doing something in the other room, I always say, 'Don't worry, if so, she'll come show us,'" one person wrote.
"If I don't notice my Golden has something he shouldn't come over and bop me with his nose and side eye me," another commented.

What's So Unique About Goldens?
These endearing behaviors are deeply rooted in the golden retriever's nature.
A blog post by the American Kennel Club (AKC) said that golden retrievers "often stay young at heart," with their puppylike behavior lasting longer than other breeds.
"They mature slowly and can be playful and downright silly into adulthood," the post read. This prolonged puppyhood seems obvious to many in the viral TikTok video. However, the AKC also highlighted two other key traits that might explain the dog's actions in the video: their love of food and their "mouthy" nature.
"Golden Retrievers love to eat," the AKC said, adding that "they'll eat anything, from the dinner in their bowl to toys, paper and crayons. If it's out, it's fair game."
Since goldens are prone to overeating, clued-up owners know to limit treats, measure food carefully and feed them on a schedule.
Furthermore, golden retrievers are "naturally mouthy," meaning that they like to carry something in their mouth wherever they go—such as sticks, toys, clothes or "whatever else isn't tied down."
The goldens' expressive eyes and attempts at food-related mischief only add to their charm, cementing their status as one of the most beloved and entertaining dog breeds online and off.

Woman Sneaks Clingy Pet Into Every Space She Visits—People Can't Get Enough
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A "clingy" dachshund's attachment to her owner which sometimes forces her owner to sneak her into events with a bag has left viewers on TikTok in hysterics. A June 26 TikTok post, shared by the canine's owner under @ernonpan, shows the puppy peeking out of a handbag as she is carried from place to place. An overlaid text on the video read: "Just me sneaking my clingy dachshund puppy everywhere," while the caption added: "it's either this or a dachshund crying like she is abandoned forever." The clip has been liked more than 62,000 times to date, and viewers have been quick to flood the comments with reactions ranging from admiration to empathy, with many sharing their own experiences of having needy pets who refuse to be left behind. Dachshunds, often referred to as sausage dogs, are often described by owners and breeders as intensely loyal and prone to developing separation anxiety. The American Kennel Club (AKC) notes that the breed is clever, lively and courageous, but can also become clingy with their favorite human. Many dachshunds form a strong attachment to one person in their household, which can make them prone to distress when left alone. In this case, rather than leave the dog behind to howl in protest, @ernonpan simply carries her around—handbag and all. The result is a humorous, tender moment that has struck a chord with dog lovers. "Did exactly the same thing with an 8-week-old dachshund when I went to go on a tram (even though I was carrying him anyway) so I put him in my backpack and had his head out of the bag, ticket person came around and couldn't really say anything," one viewer said, while another added: "I take my dog with me in a backpack for dogs and he loves it. Just doctors/hospital are an exception." "Our children," a third viewer said. "They should be allow everywhere." As short-legged, long-bodied dogs originally bred for hunting, dachshunds are surprisingly energetic despite their small stature. They crave companionship and often become distressed if left alone for extended periods. This personality trait makes them well-suited to devoted owners willing to accommodate their constant need for closeness—even if it means sneaking them into everyday settings in a purse. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. A dog who lived in an animal shelter has finally found her forever home—thanks to a woman who posted a video on TikTok that quickly went viral. The montage of clips showing how loving and relaxed the white dog, named Princess, is, garnered over 293,000 views on TikTok in just 24 hours (June 29). The text layered over the video explains that Vivian Powers (@pawsitiveinfluenc), had taken Princess out for the day but then decided to let her stay for a sleepover. She was so impressed by Princess's calm and curious demeanor that she shared the footage online. An excerpt from the caption says: "I didn't want to take her back to the shelter. I really didn't. @pawsitiveinfluenc The morning we woke up, Princess was still curled up in bed. She'd slept through the whole night, and in the morning, she just peeked over at me with the sweetest eyes. I didn't want to take her back to the shelter. I really didn't. My mom looked at me and said, 'Get in front of the camera. Tell people how amazing she is.' So I did. I hit record and shared her story. A few hours later, the shelter called. Someone had seen the video… and they wanted to adopt her. We jumped in the car, and that day, Princess went home. For good. She has a furry brother she adores, and a family who absolutely loves her. She'll never see the inside of a shelter again. 🐶💛 #RescueDog #DogStory #EmotionalRescue #AdoptDontShop #ShelterBreak #RescueGlowUp #PrincessTheDog #fyp #dogsoftiktok #dogvideo ♬ Beautiful Boy Edit - 𝙇𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙪𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙢𝙨 "My mom looked at me and said, 'Get in front of the camera. Tara Krauss/iStock/Getty Images Plus In 2024, 5.8 million dogs and cats entered shelters and rescues—a slight decline from the previous year, with intake evenly split between the two groups, states the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). However, the time animals—especially large dogs—spend in shelters has increased over the past five years, worsening capacity issues and limiting space for newcomers. Although 4.2 million animals were adopted—about the same as the year before—this wasn't enough to meaningfully reduce the overall shelter population nationwide. Today, social media plays a huge role in promoting the "adopt, don't shop" mantra, with 2.6 million posts using the hashtag on TikTok alone. It's a slogan that encourages people to adopt pets from animal shelters or rescue organizations instead of buying them from breeders or pet stores. So far, the post has received 31,200 likes and 245 comments, at the time of writing. One user wrote: "Seriously!?!! Dogs are 14x more likely to get adopted with ANY amount of time out of a shelter environment! Just one video changed her entire life and made space at the shelter for the next deserving dog!" "Love this happy ending!!" praised another, while a third commenter wrote: "She's so beautiful! Thank you for helping her find a forever family!" "This is why we volunteer and foster. You did a great thing!!" said a fourth. Newsweek reached out to @pawsitiveinfluenc for comment via TikTok. We could not verify the details of the case. I think I got when Beyonce caught the malfunction and tried to signal the camera QUICK 😩 #CowboyCarterTour — Rodrigo 💚 (@limegreenroger) June 29, 2025 This isn't the first time Beyoncé endured a malfunction during a live performance. In 2023, she had a wardrobe malfunction on her Renaissance World Tour in Detroit. While singing her tune "Break My Soul," the mom of three—who shares daughter Blue Ivy and twins Rumi and Sir with her rapper husband Jay-Z—had to fix one of her gold boots that slid down her leg. What People Are Saying Following Saturday's technical difficulty, Parkwood Entertainment said in a statement shared to their Instagram Story, per Good Morning America: "Tonight in Houston, at NRG stadium, a technical mishap caused the flying car, a prop Beyoncé uses to circle the stadium, and see her fans up close, to tilt. She was quickly lowered and no one was injured. The show continued without incident." Beyoncé referenced the malfunction in several Instagram posts after the concert: "I love you, Houston," she wrote in one note and added, "Sittin' Sidewayz," in another.
