EastEnders fans 'work out Alfie is being scammed' - and it's by someone he knows
There was drama on EastEnders on Monday night, as a double bill saw Stacey Slater torn over some money.
With her late ex Martin Fowler's life insurance money coming through, she revealed to the family she had £50,000. Fans had seen her offer this to her cousin Kat Moon, to help her bid on The Queen Vic which was up for sale.
But as celebrations were underway, Stacey was stopped in her tracks by a sinister call from Kat's husband Alfie Moon. Alfie told her that she had a lead on missing Zoe Slater, Kat's daughter, and he needed money urgently.
Stacey was horrified to learn that after weeks of being away looking for Zoe, Alfie still had not found his stepdaughter. Kat still has no idea Alfie and Stacey have seen Zoe recently or that her daughter is in trouble.
As the pair continued to keep this from her, Alfie told Stacey that if he did not get the money to some dangerous men then they could lose Zoe forever. Stacey demanded answers, wanting to know what he actually knew about Zoe's whereabouts.
There was mention of Alfie needing 50,000 euros, with Zoe owing people money according to the people Alfie found. He claimed they had information on where Zoe was, and he feared the men may have her.
Alfie put the pressure on Stacey by telling her that if Kat learned what was going on and that Stacey didn't help, she'd likely not forgive her. Alfie began shouting down the phone in a panic, telling Stacey that serious trouble could be on the cards if she did not help him and give him the money.
Stacey fretted over the situation, and soon she was telling her devastated cousin Kat that she could no longer give her the money for the pub deposit. Kat fumed, as Stacey claimed it was because the money was meant for Martin's children.
While this was true, Stacey and Kat had already agreed that it was a great investment that could benefit the children. Stacey's mother Jean Slater had known about the call with Alfie and immediately realised the pair were hiding something.
Jean believed whatever had been said in the phone call between Stacey and Alfie had swayed the change of heart, with Kat not allowed to know anything. Stacey then begged her mum to stop digging for information, and told her that the money was to help someone important to the family.
She didn't give away who, but instead allowed Jean to think Stacey's cousin Hayley Slater was the one in need of the cash. Stacey went along with this, but ultimately decided not to give Alfie the cash.
Viewers watching the episodes were relieved, as they believed Alfie was actually the victim of a scam. After all, Zoe had tried to con them out of some money not too long ago, so could she be behind this latest demand?
Some fans even wondered if Zoe had scammed Jean recently after she was tricked into transferring her savings. Fans think Alfie is being conned now, and that the £50k would have been stolen by someone with the Zoe claims being a cover.
One viewer posted: "I think Alfie may have got scammed/set up for getting conned by Zoe or messed with the wrong people himself. Remember Zoe also lied/stole from Stacey and ran up a massive credit card debt. Jean may have just saved Stacey and Alfie from making a bad decision." Another agreed: "Alfie brainless as ever thinking that giving some random thugs £50k in euros to find a missing Zoe."

Saturday Kitchen star addresses absence as they make BBC return
On the latest instalment of BBC's Saturday Kitchen, host Matt Tebbutt was quick to welcome back his co-star. Saturday Kitchen host Matt Tebbutt was thrilled to welcome back a much-loved figure on the BBC show. During the most recent instalment, the presenter wasted no time in addressing the absence of wine expert Olly Smith. As Charlie Stayt and Naga Munchetty handed over to Matt during BBC Breakfast to discover what was happening in his show, the 51-year-old turned his attention to his colleague. Matt commented: "He's back! Olly Smith, where have you been all my life?!" Olly replied: "Oh well, all your life! Well, over the last few weeks, I've had a triple threat of writing, going to weddings, and festivals." The Saturday Kitchen host questioned whether or not the nuptials were fun to attend. He added: "They were actually to be fair, I was going to be mean, but no, they were really lovely. I mean, who doesn't love to celebrate love?" Usually, BBC viewers are used to seeing Olly alternate on Saturday Kitchen with fellow wine expert Helen McGinn. Over the past few weeks, Helen has been holding down the fort, with Olly's last appearance on the show before taking a brief break being June 14. Currently, there's speculation that Saturday Kitchen's Matt Tebbutt could be the new face of MasterChef, following the axing of John Torode and Gregg Wallace. A source told The Sun: "Matt is seen as a really safe pair of hands by the BBC. He has been in the frame for some time and is now being lined up for MasterChef. The BBC are keen to bring Andi Oliver on board too. She has been so popular as host of the Great British Menu." They further added: "They're not sure if she can commit at this stage because of her schedule with that show, but everyone is hoping they can get her on board. Everyone loves Andi, and she would be perfect for the role in many ways. "She is very talented on her own merit, but she would also help bring a more diverse look to the show, which is much needed. The last thing the show wants is to be slapped with being 'pale, and stale' by a new generation of food lovers." The presenting change comes as former hosts John and Gregg were both axed by the BBC after an investigation upheld allegations about them both in regards to "inappropriate behaviour".

List includes darts favourite, golf star and F1 driver. But who is being backed to lift the end of year prize? The sunshine might have pulled another disappearing act but we are still in the heart of summer. Unbelievable as it might be but we are well past the midway point of the year and it will be 2026 before you know it. It has been quite the dramatic first half of 2025 in the sporting world - from Liverpool securing a 20th league title to the two Lukes crashing out of the darts World Cup. The Lionesses have taken us on one mighty rollercoaster during the 2025 Women's Euros this summer - and the men's U21s have also lifted the title in their own version of the competition. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad A British driver remains in the hunt for the Formula One world title - but will Lando Norris be able to surpass his teammate and rival Oscar Piastri? It would be one hell of a story. In a little less than five months time, the BBC will gather to celebrate the best sporting achievements of the year - and hand out the much coveted SPOTY award. But who is in the running right now? Who are the early favourites for the 2025 Sports Personality? The presenters of this BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2024 | BBC/Paul Cooper Olympic champion Keely Hodgkinson lifted the trophy last December following her incredible performance at the 2024 games in Paris. Sidenote: what an incredible few weeks that was, wish I could jump back and experience those highs once again. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad The BBC will once again crown a winner at the end of the year - and attention has started to turn towards who are the runners and riders for 2025. has issued its odds, with one name jumping out as a clear favourite at this point. Rory McIlroy - 4/6 Lando Norris - 13/2 Luke Littler - 8/1 Ellie Kildunne - 28/1 Jack Draper - 40/1 Lauren Price - 40/1 Leah Williamson - 45/1 We obviously still have a long way to go in 2025 and the final of the Women's Euros on Sunday (July 27) could dramatically shake-up the odds. If the Lionesses manage to lift the trophy once again, someone like Leah Williamson could really jump up the list - for example. Beth Mead was named SPOTY in 2022, following England's triumph at the Euros that summer. Her international teammate Mary Earps won it the following year - for her role in the Lionesses' run to the World Cup final, so there is precedent. Ellie Kildunne is one to keep your eyes on as she is one of the star players for the Red Roses - England Women's rugby team. The team will be playing in the World Cup, on home soil none-the-less, starting in late August and triumph in the tournament could see her odds tumble. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Equally, if Lando Norris manages to surpass Piastri and secure the F1 World Drivers' Championship he could easily become one of the frontrunners. Drive to Survive remains a very popular show on Netflix and he is a known name. But if the award was to go the way of the current odds and Rory McIlroy capped off the year in which he finally won The Masters with a SPOTY award - it would be the first time since Lewis Hamilton in 2020 that a male athlete has lifted the trophy.

Stacey Solomon shares emotional family update after heartbreaking news
Stacey Solomon shared an emotional update with her fans after a tough few months for her family as they struggled to help one member get through a devastating health development Stacey Solomon shared an emotional update with her followers after a heartbreaking health condition struck one of her family. The TV host previously revealed in April that her dog Teddy had to have surgery after discovering he has a "predisposed condition". She shared with her followers on Instagram at the time that he had become "suddenly unwell" prior to the procedure. Then in May Stacey, 35, confirmed that Spaniel, Teddy, had returned home but he had suffered a burst disc and "lost the use of his back legs". Then last month she updated her fans further confirming that it was "likely" that he will "never get the feeling back" in his legs. She added that he will also need help emptying his bladder and walking. Now in her latest update Stacey has debuted Teddy's new way of getting around since developing the devastating condition. Posting a video of him with his assisted wheels she shared her delight at seeing him able too run and play again. She wrote, "Our Darling Teddy has his wheels. We have spent the last few days trying to teach teddy a new way of getting around & he's finally learning to love his wheels. He was very nervous at first but seeing him today walking around with peanut again was so special. "We have spoken to our vet & have bought teddy some wheels. If we are doing anything wrong please be kind. This is a totally new journey for us & we are doing our best to give teddy the best life he can possibly have so just let us know if you have any tips." She continued, "Teddy you've been such an amazing boy. We know your whole world has turned upside down but you've been so calm and patient and we hope we are giving you the second chance that you deserve. To the moon & back Teddy." Stacey and husband Joe Swash originally rescued Teddy as a companion for their other dog, Peanut. When they first learned of his condition she told fans at the time: "Our darling Teddy. Teddy became suddenly unwell on Thursday. It turns out he has a predisposed condition we had no idea about as he was a rescue." Stacey continued: "He has been operated on by incredible vets and the next 3-4 days are crucial for him to get through, even then, he might not ever fully recover. We are praying and hoping so hard that he pulls through & that we can care for him in the best way we possibly can to give him the best life he can have." She concluded the original post by sharing her family's devastation over the situation. She wrote: "We are all truly devastated. He is the sweetest, most protective, loving dog. He's our family. And far too young to be going through this." In a message to Teddy, she said: "We love you Ted. So so much. Pickle cottage is far too quiet without you. I miss my toilet buddy. Peanut is so sad without his best friend."
