West Lothian Oasis tribute band says reunion tour has 'opened so many doors'
An Oasis tribute band based in West Lothian have said the Britpop band heading on a reunion tour has 'changed their lives'.
The band, Definitely Maybe, have revealed how they've had to change their set because of the new tour. They also spoke of their disappointment over one song that is missing from the Oasis setlist, that always 'goes down a storm'.
Brian McGee, 43, from Livingston, plays the Liam role in the band. Having formerly been part of a Stone Roses tribute, he left that in 2009 just as Oasis were splitting up.
He told OLBG: "I'm a massive Oasis fan so I thought it would be a great idea, especially while they weren't going - as there is always a huge demand for them.
"It started sounding pretty good quite early, so we thought we had something. We started rehearsing in 2012 and played our first gig at the start of 2013.
"I thought we would just be playing local venues, I didn't think it would be that big. It just grew arms and legs and before I knew it we were all over the place."
Brian says one of his favourite songs to perform is She's Electric, and the band have 'never chopped it from their set'.
He added: "I was quite surprised that Oasis didn't play it during the first nights of the reunion. It's a massive song live, everyone gets really into it.
'Live Forever, Supersonic and Champagne Supernova also go down really well - but She's Electric is the big one.'
After Noel went solo, Brian noticed the crowds for Definitely Oasis getting 'younger'. He continued: "They know every word as well. It's amazing to see, it really adds to the atmosphere. Gave it a freshness again.

'For a few years it was mainly people in their 40s and 50s, but we've really noticed a change."
After Oasis announced their reunion tour, Brian and his bandmates were 'buzzing'. He said their emails went 'mad' for the following weeks, with 'a lot of doors opening' for the band.
Brian added: "I suspected it was going to happen for a few months. I was buzzing when I knew it was happening.

'Everything just went mad, our emails went mad in those weeks after. It was non-stop for weeks.
"It opens a lot of doors for us, especially if there is new music. I think they might possibly put something new out next year. It just gets everybody excited again.
"Our bookings and ticket sales went through the roof. After people couldn't get Oasis tickets they started getting tickets for us instead."

Brian, who is going to the Edinburgh gigs, says his band will likely recreate the Oasis setlist from the reunion tour for anyone who missed out or wants to relive it.
He added: "I think they've nailed it, it's absolutely perfect.
'They were always going to get criticism for missing certain songs, but you can only fit a certain amount of songs in two hours. You're never going to please everyone. The people going to see them now will just want to hear the hits."

Richard Ashcroft announces huge tour update after 'nearly outshining Oasis'
Liam Gallagher said it was never a question that Richard Ashcroft would be joining them on tour after their shared history After embarking upon the biggest stadium tour of the year as special guest to Oasis, and selling out Manchester's Co-op Live, Richard Ashcroft today announces additional UK dates due to overwhelming demand. Richard will perform at arenas in Cardiff, Liverpool, London and Leeds in Spring 2026, with tickets on sale at 9.30am on Friday 1st August. The announcement follows the news of the October 3rd release date of his brand new album Lovin' You - his first all-new album since 2018's Natural Rebel and follows 2021's Acoustic Hymns, Vol. 1. Speaking on Radio 2 earlier this month Richard Ashcroft said: 'The album's due in September, just after I finish the dates with Oasis. Lewis Capaldi puts Noel Gallagher feud behind him at Oasis gig with famous pal
The Scots singer was spotted smiling with The View frontman Kyle Falconer. Lewis Capaldi and Noel Gallagher's infamous public feud hit headlines back in 2019 but appears to now be put to bed as Lewis attended the Oasis Live 25 tour in London. The Someone You Loved singer and The View frontman Kyle Falconer were spotted smiling for the camera at Wembley stadium as they waited for Oasis to take to stage at the weekend. Kyle and his wife Laura shared the snaps on Instagram as the doting dad took his young daughter Wylde to see her favourite band. Many fans would be surprised to see Lewis at the gig given his feud with the eldest Gallagher brother, Noel. Their spat first began when Noel said during an interview on Radio X in 2019 that he didn't know who Capaldi was. Despite Lewis' debut album ,Divinely Unexpired to a Hellish Extent, having just peaked at number one in the UK and Ireland, making it the fastest selling album of the year, Noel said: "Music is f***ing w*** at the moment". He then insulted the Glasgow-born star as he said: "Who's this Capaldi fella? Who the f***'s that idiot?" However, in true Capaldi fashion, the Scots singer left fans rolling about laughing as he took to his Instagram stories to celebrate Noel's comments in a sarcastic manner. While watching the interview, he responded: "F***ing c'mon! F***ing peaked – slagged off by Noel Gallagher! "Number 1 single – who gives a f***? Number 1 album – who gives a f***? Noel Gallagher has just slagged me off. This is dreams coming true." Capaldi didn't stop there as he wished Gallagher a happy Father's Day while he filmed himself enjoying Oasis' 2002 hit 'Stop Crying Your Heart Out'. Noel was quick to hit back with a tweet that poked fun at Capaldi's track Someone You Loved. He captioned the post: "@LewisCapaldi you big daftie. You might wanna try and find some joy in your tunes, you're destroying the 11yr old is in bits." Lewis further tormented the High Flying Birds frontman with a backstage photo beside his then-estranged brother and former Oasis bandmate, Liam Gallagher. A furious Noel referenced Capaldi's stunt in an interview with Variety and took things a step further as he poked fun at Lewis' appearance. He said: "F****** Chewbacca should enjoy his 15 minutes. The greatest day of his life that I slagged him off or called him an idiot. "It's the greatest day of his f****** life so far. He's just thinking 'wow'.
