Nurse killed in Keningau accident
KENINGAU (July 26): A nurse was killed in a road accident along Jalan Patikang Ulu, here on Friday.
Keningau District Police Chief Superintendent Yampil Anak Garai said the 47-year-old victim, who was attached with the Keningau Hospital, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics in the 4.10pm incident.
Based on police investigation, the victim was driving her Perodua Axia car and was making a turn into Patikang Laut when a Toyota Prado, driven by a 62-year-old man, rammed the right side of her car.
The victim was pinned at the driver's seat and fire and rescue personnel extracted her body and taken to the Keningau Hospital for a postmortem.
Family members have been notified of the incident, said Yampil.
The Toyota Prado driver has been detained for investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

MIRI (July 27): A total of 13 motorcycles were seized and 57 summonses issued during 'Op Samseng Jalanan' conducted at various locations here last night. He added that 13 individuals were also inspected and 57 PDRM (K) 257 summonses were issued for various traffic offences. Mohd Farhan said that similar operations will be carried out from time to time to ensure road users comply with traffic laws and regulations. He urged road users, especially motorcyclists, to ride responsibly and cautiously, avoid illegal vehicle modifications, and refrain from roadside gathering which can lead to congestion and noise disturbances. Two killed in Lahad Datu motorcycle crash

The incident occurred around 11.30pm when two motorcycles travelling from Embara Budi towards Cenderawasih were struck by a third coming from the opposite direction. District police chief ACP Dzulbaharin Ismail said the victims included a 12-year-old Indonesian boy riding a Yamaha and a 19-year-old man on a Honda, both of whom died at the scene. A 20-year-old Indonesian pillion rider on the Yamaha suffered injuries, while the 18-year-old Yamaha Lagenda rider escaped unharmed. Elderly motorcyclist killed in rear-end crash in Sarikei
Police at the accident scene at Jalan Nyelong By-Pass this morning. SARIKEI (July 26): A 70-year-old man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was rear-ended by a pickup truck along Jalan Nyelong By-pass here early this morning. Sarikei police chief, Superintendent Aswandy Anis, said the fatal crash occurred around 6am while the victim was travelling from Meradong towards Sarikei. 'Initial investigation indicates that the motorcycle was hit from behind by a pickup driven by a 55-year-old man,' he said in a statement today. The victim sustained serious injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel from Sarikei Hospital. 'His body has since been taken to the hospital for further action, while the pickup driver escaped unhurt,' said Aswandy. He said the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
