4 Reasons Why We're Excited About Lam Shamseya

Identity14-06-2025
Every Ramadan, certain TV series stand out before they even premiere—whether due to a compelling storyline, a strong cast, or themes that spark discussion. This year, Lam Shamseya is already generating buzz even before its release, for its psychological depth and its bold approach to sensitive societal issues. While details remain limited, the series is expected to tackle complex relationships and emotional struggles, with hints of darker themes. Here are four reasons why it's one of the most anticipated shows of the second part of Ramadan.
A Gripping and Mysterious Storyline
Although the full plot hasn't been revealed yet, the trailer hints at a major conflict that shakes the lives of the main characters. There's tension, emotional confrontations, and a sense of urgency that makes us eager to see how the story unfolds. What exactly happened? How will the characters navigate the challenges ahead? The mystery is already drawing us in.
A Strong Cast and Crew Collaboration
One of the biggest reasons for the hype is the reunion of director Karim El Shennawy with Amina Khalil and Mohamed Shahin, following their success in El Harsha El Sab3a. Their previous collaboration delivered a raw and emotional portrayal of modern relationships, and fans are eager to see how they bring the same depth to Lam Shamseya. With a talented ensemble cast and a skilled creative team, the series promises strong performances and powerful storytelling.
A Fusion of Genres
From the trailer, Lam Shamsiya appears to blend different genres, combining elements of drama, suspense, and emotional storytelling. This fusion keeps the series dynamic and engaging, offering moments of intensity, heartfelt emotion, and intrigue all in one. By balancing multiple tones, the show has the potential to appeal to a wide audience and keep viewers hooked throughout Ramadan.
A Unique and Unconventional Ramadan Drama
Since the show's announcement and the buzz around its proposition of a storyline involving pedophilia, audiences have been eager to see how it will tackle such a sensitive and complex theme. With trailers and promotional material revealing little, anticipation and curiosity continue to build. What's clear, however, is that Lam Shamseya is not a typical Ramadan series—it seeks to push boundaries and deliver deeper storytelling than what viewers are accustomed to during the season.
Do you think Lam Shamsiya will be one of Ramadan's most talked-about series?

Bronnikov Stunned by Youthful Enthusiasm at Sheikh Imam's 30th Anniversary Celebration

Pasant Elzaitony Denis Bronnikov, the Deputy Director of the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, expressed his amazement at the overwhelming turnout of youth at the celebration of Sheikh Imam, marking the 30th anniversary of his passing. He noted that the crowd stretched for dozens of meters along Tahrir Street, extending all the way to the entrance of the Russian Cultural Center. Bronnikov pointed out that most of the attendees were in their twenties. He added that the Tchaikovsky Theatre was fully packed, describing it as a phenomenon worthy of contemplation. The celebration, organized by the Sheikh Imam Society for Arts and Literature in collaboration with the Russian Cultural Center in Cairo, saw a large turnout that included a number of renowned poets and artists. The distinguished poet Zayn El-Abidin Fouad was present, along with other contemporary poets such as Mahmoud El-Taweel, Mohamed Seif, Farghali Mahran, and Sayed Enaba, who recited poems reflecting the rich poetic heritage of Sheikh Imam. Meanwhile, several individuals were honored for their contributions to preserving the legacy of Sheikh Imam. As the evening unfolded, the connection between Sheikh Imam's music and political activism became even clearer. Bronnikov also highlighted that Sheikh Imam's songs reached beyond Egypt's borders, having been introduced to Russian audiences since 1985, when he performed at the World Youth Forum in Moscow. The Russian Cultural Center has maintained this cultural exchange, showcasing the universal themes in Imam's music that resonate with youth all over the world. Sherif Gad, a key figure at the event, reflected on the enduring impact of the late musician. 'Sheikh Imam is still alive in the hearts of Egyptians,' he said. 'He was the blind singer who illuminated the hearts of the poor and the revolutionaries. He sang for workers, farmers, and for Palestine, and his songs remain a guiding light for those fighting for justice.' The celebration, which also included a poignant memorial for late poets such as Naguib Sorour and Ahmed Fouad Negm, reinforced the idea that Sheikh Imam's artistic and political influence continues to shape the cultural landscape of Egypt. It also highlighted the continued role of music in shaping social and political movements, especially among the youth. read more 2 Most Inspirational Green Projects in Egypt AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT to Strive over Viewership Tonight Egypt Marks 70th Anniv. of 2011 Revolution, National Police Day In Depth: WWE NXT Halloween Havoc In Depth: AEW Dynamite, WWE NXT Tuesday Viewership Strive Videos & Features WATCH: Egyptians Break Ramadan Fasts in Matariya Videos & Features GrEEk Campus Hosts Jobzella Fifth Career Fair Videos & Features 3 Iconic Ramadan Songs of All Times Videos & Features Top 4 Destinations to Visit in Upper Egypt News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean

Rakeen Saad Replaces Yasmin Raeis in TV Series "Qtl Ikhtiyari"

Yara Sameh After a year of hindered production, the TV series "Qtl Ikhtiyari" ("Optional Killing") is getting a fresh start, but this time, with major changes. Egyptian actress Yasmin Raeis has dropped from the project and has been replaced by Jordanian actress Rakeen Saad. The drama was originally scheduled to debut during the 2024 Ramadan drama marathon, but production issues halted filming from starting on schedule, putting the project on hold for a long period. With the delay, Raeis decided to exit the series, especially given her busy schedule with new projects in film and television. Sources within the production team say the production company was able to overcome the financial crisis that had disrupted filming, and a decision was made to debut the project outside of the Ramadan drama marathon, with significant changes to the number of episodes and the technical crew. The show's creators also altered the series' episodes from 15 to 30. "Qtl Ikhtiyari" is written by Amin Gamal and directed by Mohamed Bakir. Principal photography is set to begin in the coming weeks. Mohamed Ramadan Lands Next Film Role

Yara Sameh Egyptian actor Mohamed Ramadan has lined up his next movie role. The untitled project sees Ramadan teaming up again with producer Ahmed El Sobky for the first time in seven years. It also marks the pair's four collaboration after "Abdo Mota" (2012), "Qalb Al-Assad" (2013), and "El Diesel" (2018). Ramadan is currently busy shooting Mohamed Diab's historical action thriller film "Assad". Maged El Kedwany, Khaled Elsawy, Razane Jammal, Sherif Salama, Aly Kassem, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, and Ahmed Dash, are also on board to star. Mohamed Diab directs from a script he co-wrote with Sherine Diab and Khaled Diab. "Assad" is set in 1280 AD in the Mamluk era and features Ramadan portraying Ali bin Muhammad Al-Farsi, who is sold in the slave market and later leads the revolution against the Abbasid army. Ramadan previously said that the film took three years to prepare for, and because of it, he didn't make any new TV series due to the film's complexity and time frame. "Assad" reunites Ramadan with Dash for the third time after working together on the 2023 TV series " Gaafar El Omda " and the 2020 TV series " Al Prince ". It also marks the actor's second foray into the historical genre, after starring in 2017's "The Treasure" and its follow-up, 2019's "The Treasure 2: Love and Destiny", both directed by Sherif Arafa. Ramadan, born on May 23, 1988, began acting while at school. He launched his career with small roles in TV series like 'The Cinderella' until he had his big break in Yousry Nasrallah's 'Ehky Ya Sharazad' (Tell me, Shahrazad). He then went on to star in blockbusters produced by the famous Egyptian producers Mohamed and Ahmed El Sobky, which made him one of the most bankable actors in the Middle East. Ramadan began exploring the music scene in the past years. read more New Tourism Route To Launch in Old Cairo Ahmed El Sakka-Led Play 'Sayidati Al Jamila' to Be Staged in KSA on Dec. 6 Mandy Moore Joins Season 2 of "Dr. Death" Anthology Series Don't Miss These Movies at 44th Cairo Int'l Film Festival Today Amr Diab to Headline KSA's MDLBEAST Soundstorm 2022 Festival Arts & Culture Mai Omar Stuns in Latest Instagram Photos Arts & Culture "The Flash" to End with Season 9 Arts & Culture Ministry of Culture Organizes four day Children's Film Festival Arts & Culture Canadian PM wishes Muslims Eid-al-Adha News China Launches Largest Ever Aircraft Carrier Sports Former Al Zamalek Player Ibrahim Shika Passes away after Long Battle with Cancer Lifestyle Get to Know 2025 Eid Al Adha Prayer Times in Egypt Videos & Features Tragedy Overshadows MC Alger Championship Celebration: One Fan Dead, 11 Injured After Stadium Fall Business Fear & Greed Index Plummets to Lowest Level Ever Recorded amid Global Trade War Arts & Culture Zahi Hawass: Claims of Columns Beneath the Pyramid of Khafre Are Lies News Flights suspended at Port Sudan Airport after Drone Attacks Videos & Features Video: Trending Lifestyle TikToker Valeria Márquez Shot Dead during Live Stream News Shell Unveils Cost-Cutting, LNG Growth Plan Technology 50-Year Soviet Spacecraft 'Kosmos 482' Crashes into Indian Ocean
