The Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office is asking people living in Colorado to help identify a burglary suspect who has broken into the same commercial building at least eight times from April 28 to May 25. Investigators said they believe the suspect has repeatedly broken into the businesses in the 7700 block of E. Iliff Avenue.

Once inside, investigators said the suspect rummaged through the offices, targeting only cash. So far, he has stolen nearly $10,000.

A fireworks launch barge exploded on Lake Martin Friday night during a fireworks show, causing several injuries. The Tallapoosa County Sheriff's Office confirmed the explosion in the Blue Creek area. The Alexander City Outlook reported that at least five people were injured. Fireworks had been launched from the barge for several minutes when one charge exploded low near the boat, causing the barge to burn while it remained afloat for several minutes, the Outlook reported. Some of the injured were taken to area hospitals by helicopter, the Outlook reported. KBI releases 2024 Kansas Crime Index report

TOPEKA (KSNT)- There were more than 70,000 reported incidents in the Kansas Bureau of Investigation's (KBI) 2024 Kansas Crime Index report that was released on Monday. The overall crime rate index decreased from 27 per 1,000 people to 23.3 in 2024, the lowest reported in more than 20 years, according to the report. The violent crime index also decreased 6.7% from 2023 but was still equal to the 10-year average. Other trends identified by the KBI included murders below the 10-year average, rape 16.9% below the 10-year average and robbery 31.6% below the 10-year average. The KBI reported that aggravated assault and battery charges were 7.8% above the 10-year average.
