In a post on X, she said, 'The China-India relations are at a crucial stage of improvement and development. We stand ready to work with India to move bilateral relations forward on a sound and steady track.'
This comes after China on Monday lodged a protest against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's greetings to the Dalai Lama on his 90th birthday, warning New Delhi against interfering in its internal affairs.
On July 6, Prime Minister Modi sent greetings to the Dalai Lama, while the Minister of Parliamentary Affairs, Kiren Rijiju attended the celebration on behalf of the Indian government.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of External Affairs on Friday reiterated India's stance on uphelding the freedom of religion for all after Dalai Lama declared that the Gaden Phodrang Trust, a non-profit institution he established, has the sole authority to recognise his future reincarnation.
'We have seen reports relating to the statement made by the Dalai Lama about the continuation of the Dalai Lama institution. Government of India does not take any position or speak on matters concerning beliefs and practices of faith and religion. Government has always upheld freedom of religion for all in India and will continue to do so,' MEA Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said.
The Chinese Embassy in India also welcomed the ongoing peace talks between India and Pakistan, emphasizing China's commitment to regional stability. Yu stated that China has been closely monitoring the developments and actively promoting dialogue between the two nations.

The recent Operation Sindoor marked a significant escalation in India's response to terror attacks emanating from Pakistan. Triggered by public outrage after the Pahalgam terror attack, this operation involved a series of airstrikes targeting nine terror facilities, including major centers of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Pakistan.
Unlike previous actions such as the 2016 surgical strikes or the 2019 Balakot strike, Operation Sindoor targeted multiple locations, demonstrating India's enhanced capability for deep infiltration and precision strikes.
India provided conclusive evidence of the operation's success, acknowledged by Pakistan, marking a shift in the narrative around such operations. These targets were symbolic, as they operated openly in Pakistan, defying international anti-terrorism norms.
The operation was described by India as 'measured, non-escalatory, proportionate, and responsible,' with no Pakistani military installations targeted. (ANI)

ED raids travel agents in Punjab, Haryana in ‘donkey route' case
Jalandhar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out raids at multiple locations in Punjab and Haryana as part of an investigation into money laundering linked to the 'donkey route' — a network facilitating illegal immigration to the United States. The operation is based on 19 FIRs filed against travel agents and middlemen who exploited Indian citizens seeking to enter the US illegally. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Wednesday carried out raids at multiple locations in Punjab and Haryana as part of an investigation into money laundering linked to the 'donkey route' — a network facilitating illegal immigration to the United States. The operation is based on 19 FIRs filed against travel agents and middlemen who exploited Indian citizens seeking to enter the US illegally. Offices and houses of suspects and agents in 11 cities, including Amritsar, Sangrur, Patiala and Moga in Punjab and Ambala, Kurukshetra and Karnal in Haryana, are being raided under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), the sources said. The money-laundering case stems from 19 FIRs registered by Punjab and Haryana police departments against the travel/visa agents and middlemen who cheated Indian citizens willing to go to the US illegally, they said. As part of the action, the ED raided the house of Bhartiya Kisan Union (Totewala) leader Sukh Gill in Jalandhar. 'The raids are underway and the details of the operation will be shared later,' said a senior ED official. Another ED official said they have recovered several incriminating documents and digital evidences related to illegal immigration business. 'During the raids, it was found that multiple people are still active in this unholy business even after hundreds of youths were deported back from the US,' he said. As many as 131 youngsters from Punjab were deported on board US military planes in February by the Donald Trump administration. These deportees had attempted to cross the US-Mexico border illegally between January 23 and 28, only to be apprehended by US border security patrols and sent to detention centres. The probe agency later recorded the statements of the deportees. Investigation threw up the names of certain suspects and they are being searched, the official said. Each deportee had paid between ₹45-55 lakh to unknown travel agents, whom they had never met in person but were connected to through local contacts. The ED asked the deportees to furnish all documents, including bank account details of the travel agents to whom payments were made. 'We have initiated a thorough investigation under PMLA as huge sums of illegal financial transactions were involved in this nexus. Based on the statements of the deportees, the money trail will be zeroed-in,' said the ED official. The agency has also indicated that more deportees from Punjab and Haryana may be summoned if required. The investigation aims to uncover the network of travel agents and the flow of illicit funds, which were allegedly used to forge education certificates, experience letters, and other documents to make ineligible visa applicants appear eligible for US visas. On February 25, the ED conducted search operations at five businesses and houses in Ludhiana and Chandigarh linked to M/s Red Leaf Immigration Private Limited, M/s Overseas Partner Education Consultants, and M/s Infowiz Software Solution, among others. During the raids, the agency seized incriminating documents, digital devices, and cash amounting to ₹19 lakh. The ED's investigation revealed that the accused entities had manipulated visa applications by transferring funds to applicants' accounts to show minimum balances required for visa applications. They also forged documents to help applicants meet eligibility criteria. 'By such criminal activities, the accused charged hefty amounts from visa applicants. The proceeds of crime generated through these activities were invested in movable and immovable properties and diverted into various bank accounts,' the ED official said. The probe was initiated based on FIRs registered by Punjab Police and Delhi Police, following a complaint from the Office of Overseas Criminal Investigations at the US Embassy in New Delhi. The complaint highlighted fraudulent activities by visa consultants who exploited aspiring students and workers looking to move to the US. Earlier this month, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two alleged 'U.S. donkey route' human traffickers after searches at two locations in Himachal Pradesh and Delhi. The accused were identified as Sunny of Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh and Shubham Sandhal of Rupnagar, who was residing in Peeragarhi in the national capital. Their names surfaced during interrogation of Gagangdeep Singh, who was arrested by the NIA from New Delhi.

103 diaspora kids clear first-ever Marathi exam based on state syllabus
MUMBAI: In a historic move to take the Marathi language beyond Indian borders, the first-ever international Marathi language evaluation exam was conducted by the North America-based Brihan Maharashtra Mandal (BMM) under the Maharashtra State Open School Board, Pune. A hundred and three students from the United States, Canada, and Denmark successfully cleared the exam, which marks a significant milestone in the efforts to connect diaspora children with their cultural roots. 103 diaspora kids clear first-ever Marathi exam based on state syllabus The exam, based on Maharashtra's Balbharti curriculum, was held in May, and results were officially announced this week. Students from Class 1 to 8 appeared for the assessment, which tested their reading, writing and comprehension of the Marathi language. The initiative follows a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between BMM and the state government in January 2024. Speaking about the achievement, third-grader Abir Deshmukh from Pittsburgh Marathi School shared, 'I speak to my grandparents in Marathi. During Diwali, I wrote them a letter in Marathi. They liked it very much. I like Marathi schools very much.' The success of these students is the outcome of a sustained initiative that began during the second World Marathi Literature Conference. The then school education and Marathi language minister Deepak Kesarkar played a crucial role in facilitating the agreement between BMM and the State Marathi Development Organisation. 'It began with the vision of keeping the language alive for our children growing up in the West,' said Rahul Deshmukh, head of the Marathi school department at BMM. 'But it now gives them not just a cultural experience but also academic recognition. Currently, 30 counties accept this score for college credit but we are trying to do it all across the US. We are also trying to get recognition for Marathi as a foreign language.' Of the 103 students who appeared for the exam, the highest participation was recorded in Classes 1 and 3, with 28 students each. Others included 17 from Class 2, 15 from Class 4, 11 each from Classes 5 and 6, 10 from Class 7, and five from Class 8. 'The Marathi language exam has now become an important part of schooling in America,' said Prasad Panawalkar, president of BMM. 'This is a milestone.' Rajendra Andhale, state coordinator of the Maharashtra State Board of Open Schooling, Pune which conducted the examination, said, 'The MoU not only covers textbook and curriculum distribution through Balbharti but also includes training support for teachers by the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT). Initially focused on Classes 1 to 8, we aim to extend the programme to Class 10 in the future.' Andhale added that SCERT had trained around 40 tutors to teach and evaluate Marathi. 'In the coming academic year, we are expecting over 3,000 children to register,' he said.
