SP T. Srinivasa Rao Ensures Swift Action on Public Grievances in Jogulamba Gadwal
On Monday, during the Public Grievance Day (Praja Vani), the SP personally reviewed 16 petitions submitted by citizens from various parts of the district at the District Police Office. In the presence of the Deputy SP and Circle Inspectors, he examined each petition, interacted with the complainants to understand their issues in detail, and issued necessary instructions for legal redressal.
SP Srinivasa Rao emphasized that no delay or negligence should be shown in addressing the complaints. He instructed the officials to take immediate and lawful action, and also to ensure that the progress of the investigation or action taken is regularly communicated to the complainants.

Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has issued firm directives to officials, emphasizing that there is no room for negligence when it comes to the welfare of students in Gurukul schools and welfare hostels. The Collector made it clear that incidents like the one at the Jyotiba Phule BC Boys Gurukula School in Undavalli must never be repeated. On Friday, a review meeting was held at the IDOC meeting hall to assess the management of residential schools and hostels. The session was jointly conducted with District Superintendent of Police (SP) Srinivas Rao. Speaking on the occasion, the Collector noted that the state government has placed special focus on the education sector. He warned that strict action would be taken against any kind of negligence in the operation of schools and hostels. Referring to a recent incident, he reminded that the deputy warden and supervisor were suspended and memos were issued to other negligent officials. He directed mandal-level officials to work in coordination to safeguard student welfare. Special officers have been appointed at the district level to monitor all mandals. These officers are to visit schools at least twice a month to review conditions related to education, safety, drinking water, toilets, and other basic facilities. Tehsildars and MPDOs were instructed to regularly inspect hostels within their jurisdiction and immediately address any deficiencies. Daily nutritious meals must be provided as per the prescribed menu, and the food should be inspected daily by the school's food committee. Records of meal quality must be maintained with signatures from at least two students. Any deviation from the menu or substandard food will lead to strict action against the responsible staff. The Collector further emphasized that drinking water, toilets, sanitation, staff rooms, and kitchen facilities must be thoroughly reviewed during school inspections. He warned that any spoiled or pest-infested rice must be replaced immediately. Officials were advised to promptly report any problems in hostels to the tehsildar, MPDO, and police. The tehsildar, being the magistrate at the mandal level, must respond immediately. In case of serious issues, officials were directed to bring the matter directly to the Collector's attention. Unauthorized entry into school and hostel premises is strictly prohibited, especially in girls' hostels, where surveillance must be strengthened. District SP Srinivas Rao stated that the police department remains available at all times to respond to any incident. He urged officials to act responsibly, pointing out that due to administrative negligence and outsider interference, students have previously been forced to protest. He reiterated that strict regulations must be enforced to prevent unauthorized individuals—especially in girls' hostels—from entering premises. Outsiders must not be allowed access to educational institutions. Anyone violating student rights will face legal action. The SP also warned that action would be taken against individuals found engaging in inappropriate activities such as consuming alcohol within school premises at night. He encouraged close cooperation between mandal-level administrative officials and the police department to maintain order. The meeting was attended by Additional Collectors Lakshmi Narayana and Narsinga Rao, Special Deputy Collector Srinivasa Rao, RDO Alivelu, all Mandal Tehsildars, MPDOs, Special Officers, Education Department officials, principals of Kasturba Gandhi Girls' Schools, and other senior authorities.

Kurnool: A half-yearly crime review meeting was convened on Thursday at the Vyas Auditorium, District Police Office, Kurnool. The meeting was presided over by Kurnool Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Dr Koya Praveen and District SP Vikrant Patil. The session saw the participation of DSPs, Circle Inspectors, and Sub-Inspectors from across the district. The primary focus of the meeting was on enhancing law enforcement through advanced technology, crime prevention strategies and community-oriented policing. Addressing the gathering, DIG Dr Koya Praveen underscored the importance of strengthening visible policing through drone surveillance, efficient use of CCTV systems, and public counseling to defuse old rivalries. He commended the district for maintaining a peaceful atmosphere post-district reorganisation and urged officers to ensure there was no scope for unrest or public nuisances. 'Police stations must symbolise safety. If justice is delivered promptly at the local level, there will be no need for victims to approach higher authorities,' he stated. The DIG also encouraged all officers to upgrade their technical skills and adapt to modern investigative tools to stay ahead in crime control and public service. SP Vikrant Patil, in his address, reviewed the status of pending cases and called for increased use of surveillance technology and pre-emptive measures to deter criminal activity. He stressed the need for proper maintenance of CCTV cameras, strict action against habitual offenders, and swift investigations, particularly in property-related and POCSO cases. Officers were instructed to utilise digital tools such as CCTNS, e-Summons and e-Sakshya for efficient case management. The meeting concluded with the distribution of appreciation certificates to police officers who exhibited outstanding performance in recent months. A detailed analysis of the district's crime data from the past six months was presented, highlighting progress in investigations and crime prevention initiatives. As part of the anti-drug campaign led by the Eagle team, the DIG and SP jointly launched awareness posters titled 'Say Goodbye to Drugs' and 'No to Drugs, Bro'. Citizens were urged to report drug-related information via the toll-free number 1972.

As part of prosecution efforts, he instructed officers to execute non-bailable warrants issued by courts promptly, particularly against absconding offenders. He ordered that there should be no arrest pendency in registered cases and that under-investigation (UI) cases should be solved quickly. The SP instructed officers to stay in regular contact with court duty officials and to review upcoming court trial cases daily. He also stressed the importance of completing investigations within stipulated timelines, especially in POCSO and SC/ST atrocity cases, and filing charge sheets promptly in court. Police officials in urban areas were directed to be available at all times to monitor law and order, conduct daily vehicle checks, and carry out drunk-and-drive tests to enhance public safety. Highlighting traffic-related concerns, SP Srinivas Rao advised officers to identify accident-prone areas (black spots) within their jurisdictions and work with concerned departments to implement safety measures to prevent accidents.
