Detroit Tigers suffer another loss to Toronto Blue Jays 6-2
The American League-leading Blue Jays are 7-1 since the All-Star break, while the Tigers have lost five straight and 11 of 12.
José Berríos (7-4) picked up the win, giving up two runs on five hits and two walks in six innings.
Keider Montero (4-3) took the loss, allowing six runs on nine hits in four-plus innings.
The Tigers took a 1-0 lead in the second when Wenceel Pérez singled, stole second and scored on Dillon Dingler's double.
Addison Barger's RBI double made it 1-1 in the fourth and he scored with two outs on a throwing error by Javier Báez.
The Blue Jays then took control with a four-run fifth. Nathan Lukes and George Springer started the inning with singles, and Guerrero hit an RBI double. Bo Bichette's two-run double made it 5-1 and Alejandro Kirk's single off reliever Tyler Holton gave Toronto a five-run lead.
Spencer Torkelson's 23rd homer of the season pulled the Tigers within 6-2 in the sixth.
The Tigers didn't get another baserunner after Torkelson's sixth-inning homer.
The Tigers have been outscored 83-32 in their 12-game skid, an average of 4.25 runs per game. They had a plus-112 run differential through 93 games, but have given back almost half of it in a dozen contests.
The teams play the third game of their four-game series on Saturday with Tigers ace LHP Tarik Skubal (10-3, 2.19 ERA) facing RHP Kevin Gausman (7-7, 4.01).

'Merci Patrick,' Osaka began her post, with a photo of her hitting a practice serve while he stands nearby. 'It was such a great experience learning from you. Wishing you nothing but the best. You are one of the coolest people I've ever met and I'm sure I'll see you around.' The news comes three days after Osaka lost her second match at the D.C. Open and just before she begins competing in Toronto. The U.S. Open, the year's last major tournament and an event Osaka won twice, begins in New York on Aug. 24. Osaka hired Mouratoglou — who was the longtime coach of Serena Williams — when she fired Wim Fissette shortly after her second-round exit at last year's U.S. Open. Osaka, a former No. 1, is currently ranked 51st and has a 21-11 record this season. The Baseball Hall of Fame welcomes five new members on Sunday, July 27, with Ichiro Suzuki, CC Sabathia, Billy Wagner, Dave Parker and Dick Allen set to be inducted in Cooperstown, New York. Suzuki becomes the Hall of Fame's first Japanese player – assembling a 19-year MLB career after nine decorated professional seasons in Japan – and was just one vote shy of a unanimous election. Sabathia also got in on the first ballot after winning 261 games as one of the best starting pitchers of the new millennium. Wagner ranks eighth on the all-time saves list with 422, while Allen (1972) and Parker (1978) were MVP award winners.
