PEYTON HOUSTON - Dallas
Houston showed in Dallas that he has all the traits of an elite quarterback and it's why USC has made him its top priority in the 2027 class and many others, including Oklahoma, Georgia, Texas, Texas A&M and LSU, are staying involved.
The Shreveport (La.) Evangel Christian high four-star is not the biggest quarterback in the world but that's what everyone said about Kyler Murray, Bryce Young and so many others. In today's game, quarterback height is less important than ever before. Houston is a playmaker and even if a camp setting isn't the best for him, the four-star still delivered in a major way.
TEDDY JARRARD - Atlanta
Over the last few days, Jarrard has visited Purdue, Notre Dame and Clemson and heading into the Atlanta camp he had received offers from Georgia and Ohio State as the 2027 four-star from Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb is one of the hottest quarterbacks in the entire country.

The ball pops off Jarrard's hand. He has velocity, timing and everything else to back up all the attention he's received on the recruiting trail.
The Atlanta Camp was loaded at quarterback and even though Jarrard didn't win the MVP award, he was definitely impressive and one of the best QBs at any Rivals regional camp.
JAYCE JOHNSON - Atlanta
Jeff McCulloch/Rivals.com
To beat out Teddy Jarrard, North Carolina commit Travis Burgess, Mississippi State pledge Brodie McWhorter and others for the MVP award, Johnson had a phenomenal performance at the Atlanta camp which was one of many this offseason.
The 2027 four-star quarterback from Valdosta (Ga.) Lowndes was sharp, showed off great arm talent, had a clean motion throughout the event and then seemed to get better and better throughout the camp. It was a close race at the top but Johnson edged out some other elite quarterbacks.
RYDER LYONS - Los Angeles
The five-star quarterback was fantastic as always at the Los Angeles stop and what's even more impressive is that a camp setting is not where Lyons does his best work.

The Folsom, Calif., standout sat in the pocket and zipped passes all over the field. He knows when to dial it back a little bit and has such an unreal feel for receivers and immediately having chemistry with them.
Lyons is best when he can freelance a little bit, escape pressure and make magic happen and that's not a camp setting but he was still great.
Oregon, BYU, Michigan and others continue after him.
JAYDEN WADE - Los Angeles
Jeff McCulloch/Rivals.com
It's hard to believe that Wade is a 2028 prospect because he has all the tools and is physically developed enough that it wouldn't be a shock to anyone if he reclassified because he doesn't need three more high school seasons.

He's now the guy at Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy and he should shine because he is a special prospect who will clearly be under five-star consideration.
Wade was arguably the best quarterback at the loaded Los Angeles event, which is always so deep at the position. Even still, the 2028 prospect stood out. He has the total package from decision-making to arm talent and beyond.
Oregon, Texas and others have already made an impression.

Packers' Jordan Love Called Out Ahead of Pivotal 2025 Season
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Green Bay Packers and Jordan Love enter the 2025 NFL season with big expectations. They expect to be a top-tier contender in the NFC and one of the top Super Bowl contenders in the entire league. Over the last couple of years since Aaron Rodgers departed, Love has been able to lead the Packers to the playoffs in each season. However, the team has been eliminated in the Divisional Round of the playoffs and in the Wild Card. In the third year with Love as the team's starter, the expectations have increased. Jordan Love #10 of the Green Bay Packers warms up prior to an NFL preseason football game against the Baltimore Ravens at Lambeau Field on August 24, 2024 in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Read more: Bears Still in Play for 3 Notable Free Agents Before Training Camp After suffering a knee injury in Week 1 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Love never got rolling. He had a solid season, but it wasn't great. Love's performance left a lot to be desired. Heading into the 2025 campaign, Love has received a new major warning. NFL insider Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk has issued a strong message to Love. He believes that the Green Bay quarterback will be on the hot seat if he doesn't pick up his level of play. "He's not on the hot seat per se, but he needs to play better in 2025 than he did in 2024," Florio said. "If not, he will be on the hot seat in 2026. The wild card in Green Bay is new CEO Ed Policy, who operates as the de facto owner of the team." That strong warning is warranted. Love is getting paid like a top quarterback in the NFL. He needs to start producing at that level. During the 2024 campaign, Love played in 15 regular season games. He completed 63.1 percent of his pass attempts for 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions. Read more: Steelers, TJ Watt Contract Situation Takes New Turn While the overall production was solid, there were quite a few games where Love was a non-factor. That cannot keep happening if the Packers are going to be a legitimate Super Bowl contender. Entering the 2025 season, Love has a ton of weapons and another offseason of work. He should show an improved version of himself. If he doesn't, Green Bay may need to have some tough conversations. Hopefully, all of this is completely put to rest by Love. He's more than capable of a breakout season, but he needs to show it on the field. For more Green Bay Packers and NFL news, head over to Newsweek Sports.

Shohei Ohtani works two scoreless innings, strikes out side in second on 31st birthday
LOS ANGELES — Dodgers two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani worked two scoreless innings against the Houston Astros on Saturday in his fourth mound start of the season, striking out the side in order in the second while pitching on his 31st birthday. Ohtani allowed one hit and threw 31 pitches, 21 for strikes. He fanned Christian Walker, Victor Caratini and Yanier Diaz — all swinging — to conclude his latest outing as an opener as he works his way back from elbow surgery. Houston scored four runs in the third against reliever Justin Wrobleski and went on to win 6-4. In his previous mound start a week earlier, Ohtani threw the fastest pitch of his career at 101.7 mph. This time, he hit triple digits only once — a 100.9 mph fastball that Caratini fouled off. 'Very impressed,' Dave Roberts said of Ohtani's pitching. 'His stuff continues to get better, the command, the feel for making pitches. It's nice to see he doesn't have to throw as hard as he can. It's more of a controlled fastball, controlled stuff. Really efficient with the double play in the first inning. Looking at the next one we'll have a discussion and how much and what we expect of him. Really impressed how he's continued to get better and better each time out.' Dodgers organist Dieter Ruehle played one line of 'Happy Birthday' as Ohtani walked to the dugout after the second inning. Before the game, the Los Angeles grounds crew wrote the message 'HB Sho' in the dirt. 'I'm already at an age where I don't celebrate birthdays like I used to do,' Ohtani said through an interpreter. 'With that being said, I'm grateful for everyone who said happy birthday to me. As long as I can can play the way I want to play, I usually spend my birthday just like any other day.' Isaac Paredes led off against Ohtani with a single to left. Ohtani then got Cam Smith to hit a comebacker that second baseman Tommy Edman turned into a double play. Jose Altuve followed with a groundout as Ohtani retired the side on 10 pitches. Ohtani has allowed one run in six innings this season for a 1.50 ERA. The three-time MVP did not pitch last season, his first with the Dodgers, while recovering from Tommy John surgery. He made 86 mound starts over five seasons with the Los Angeles Angels, going 38-19 with a 3.01 ERA. Batting in his customary leadoff spot, Ohtani went 1-for-4 with a walk. He led off the ninth with a single against Astros closer Josh Hader, who then retired Mookie Betts, Will Smith and Freddie Freeman to end it. 'I don't feel too bad at the plate. At the same time, I'm recognizing pitches I should be able to hit, which I'm not,' Ohtani said. 'Usually, it's a matter of a little bit of a difference with the way I'm swinging and the cage work. Hopefully, I can apply that on the field.'

bet365 Bonus Code SBKWIRE: Bet $5, Get $150 in Bonus Bets Win or Lose for Mexico vs USA
USA vs Mexico was anticipated to be the CONCACAF Gold Cup final and both teams lived up to those expectations with semifinal victories. These teams have won all but one of the previous 17 Gold Cup finals and this is the eighth time the USMNT and Mexico have faced each other in a Gold Cup final. A bet on this game can be your opening wager with the bet365 bonus code SBKWIRE that has a bet $5, get $150 in bonus bets introductory deal. The USMNT defeated Mexico the last time they met in the Gold Cup final in 2021, but Mexico has a 5-2 overall record in previous Gold Cup final matchups between these teams. You will have many bet options once you sign up for the bet365 bonus code SBKWIRE, including moneyline, moneyline 3-way and various same game parlays that are go-to wagers at sports betting apps. There aren't many sportsbook promos offering the type of introductory deal that you get with the bet365 bonus code SBKWIRE. All you need to do is sign up and then place a wager of $5 or more at -500 or greater odds (-600 doesn't qualify, -200 does). There are many Gold Cup final bets that meet this criterion. When that bet settles (win or lose), you will then receive $150 in bonus bets, usually within one hour. You get up to seven days to use this bonus bet value and these bonus bets have a favorable 1x playthrough. One thing to keep in mind for a Gold Cup final bet is that bet365 has an early payout feature. This scores your wager a winner if the team you bet on with a pre-match straight bet gets out to a two-goal lead at any time during the match. This payout occurs even if your team eventually loses after getting that two-goal or more lead. For example, if you make a moneyline bet on the USMNT to win and they get out to a two-goal lead at any point, your bet will be ruled a winner at that point. On the MLB front, today's battle of New York is the third game of the Mets and Yankees Fourth of July weekend series. The Mets probably need this win more than the Yankees given their recent slump and will thus look for a big game from Juan Soto. He's already on pace to top the 41 home runs he posted for the Yankees last season, so expect a Soto home run to be a very popular player prop bet option here. Aaron Judge is understandably the focal point for many player prop bettors on the Mets-Yankees game, but two relatively underrated candidates you can consider betting on via the bet365 bonus code SBKWIRE are center fielder Trent Grisham and DH Ben Rice. Grisham is second on the Yankees in WAR and Rice was a top AL All-Star candidate. bet365 Bonus Code SBKWIRE: Get $150 in Bonus Bets or $1000 First-Bet Safety Net Tonight's Cardinals at Cubs matchup is the first part of an ESPN Sunday Night Baseball doubleheader that you can bet on with the bet365 bonus code SBKWIRE. St. Louis and Chicago are two of the highest-scoring teams in the National League, a factor that should make the over/under in this matchup push towards or over the double-digit mark. Nearly every game on today's MLB slate has an intriguing storyline. The Reds and Phillies are both strong playoff contenders, with Philadelphia fighting for the NL East lead and Cincinnati angling to get back into the trio of NL wild card teams. Over the past two seasons, no team has given the Tigers more trouble than the Guardians. Cleveland needs every win it can get in this rivalry right now, as Detroit has been close to running way with the AL Central title over the past couple of weeks. This afternoon also has another potential World Series preview with Houston at the Dodgers, and the evening closes out with a Rangers at Padres matchup featuring superstar third baseman Manny Machado. You can find many candidates here for the qualifying opening wager of $5 or more with the bet365 bonus code SBKWIRE that will deliver $150 in bonus bets to your account once that wager settles. How to Sign Up for the bet365 Bonus Code SBKWIRE If you're 21 or older (in most states) and in one of the states where bet365 operates, you can sign up for a new account with a bet365 bonus code SBKWIRE in a matter of minutes.
