Dorking Wanderers manager Marc White has been handed a six-game touchline suspension by the Football Association (FA) following comments he made, according to a post made on the club's official X handle.
The FA took action against White for remarks deemed inappropriate, which the club later clarified were meant to be humorous.
The National League side issued a statement on social media acknowledging the ban. 'Following (intended fun) comments made on a podcast regarding women drivers, First Team Manager Marc White has received a six-game touchline suspension to be served from the beginning of the league season,' the club posted on X.
In the clip, which was circulated online, White made a remark referencing women referees and drivers. He said, "Fantastic record last year. I think 12-stadium ban it was in total, which beat my previous best. Yeah. Beat my previous best."
'This year, I've gone easy, mate. Obviously, more women refs (referees) now. So you have to pay a bit more respect. Do you know what I mean? You have to pay a bit more respect like help them park.

Do you know what I mean? But, yeah. But, yeah, I'm getting a bit better," said the coach as he burst out laughing.
White, who is also the founder of Dorking Wanderers, has played a pivotal role in the club's rise through the English football pyramid. The suspension means he will be restricted from the technical area for the first six league games of the upcoming season.
Dorking Wanderers are yet to confirm if a fine accompanies the suspension. As of now, no formal appeal has been lodged by the club.

IND vs ENG 2nd Test: Five players who can make an impact at Edgbaston

IND vs ENG: India will take on England in the second Test at Edgbaston in Birmingham on Wednesday. The visitors have lost the first Test in Leeds and will look to level the series. The conditions at this venue will be different from what has been witnessed at Leeds. The Indian Express looks at the five players who need to make an impact to improve their side's chances of winning the game. The young Mumbai opener, since making his debut in the West Indies in 2023, has risen rapidly and become one of the key components in the Indian batting order. Once again it is the responsibility is on his shoulders to see off the shine of the new ball intially and also to provide that sucker punch from time to time unsettling the lines and lenghts of the England bowlers. While T20 has not been Pant's strongest suit, as soon as the ball's colour turns red, Pant unleashes the potential he is known for. The vice-captain of the side on his third England tour is amongst the senior batters in the side, and the unpredictability in his innings construction can put off any bowling attack, as England found out in Leeds when the left-hander scored two centuries in two innings. With Jasprit Bumrah likely to miss out on the game, as reported by this paper earlier, Siraj becomes the spearhead of the attack. Although he did have a poor game in the first Test on his day, he can run through the opposition when he has something to work with on the pitch and finds his rhythm. For Indian bowling to do well, Siraj has to bowl well. The English talisman has scored 920 runs at the venue at an average of 70.71. He is the top scorer on this ground. Although he missed out in the first innings at Headingly on a flat deck, he did score a timely half-century to help England get over the line, supporting Ben Duckett's ton. With Bumrah likely to miss out on the game, India needs to come up with a method to keep Root quiet on a ground where he has a habit of churning runs for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It might have been a while since Archer has played a game in red-ball, but he still can be quite lethal when he gets it right, and like Bumrah, can make things happen when there is not much help. However, he will be able to adjust to the rhythms of bowling 20 overs a day and keep the pace up through all his spells can only be known once he steps onto the field.

World's first-ever fully autonomous AI robot football match held in China; here's what happened

Representative image The world's first-ever football match between AI-powered humanoid robots was held in China recently. This match featured humanoid robots wearing black and purple jerseys, competing in a 3 vs 3 match, which was played for two 10-minute halves, a report claimed. In this match, the movements of the robots were guided by built-in algorithms. Instead of testing fast-paced action, the event was said to be aimed at showing balance, agility, and AI-based decision-making. As per the report, the robots even raised their fists after scoring. These games, in which Chinese technology institutions reportedly participated, highlighted developments in machine autonomy . Such a match is said to be the first in China and may be a preview for the upcoming World Humanoid Robot Games , which are also set to be held in Beijing. According to a report by China News Network (seen by Bloomberg), teams from Tsinghua University and Beijing Information Science and Technology University participated. A Tsinghua team, named Vulcan, won the championship, the report added. A video of the same was also shared by Beijing Evening News. What the organisers of the AI robot football match said In a statement to the news agency AP, the organisers of the AI robot match said that a key aspect of the match was that all the participating robots operated fully autonomously using AI-driven strategies without any human intervention or supervision. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like New Waterproofing Solutions [Explore Options] Waterproofing Services Learn More Undo Fitted with advanced visual sensors, the robots were able to detect the ball and move around the field with reasonable agility. They were built to stand up on their own after falling, though some still needed to be carried off the field on stretchers by staff during the match, adding a realistic element to the event, the organisers noted. These robots were supplied by a company named Booster Robotics, the publication adds. The company's CEO, Cheng Hao, said that sports competitions provide a practical environment for testing humanoid robots, supporting progress in both algorithms and integrated hardware-software systems.
